someone please explain to me how I got one daughter who screams when a fly lands on her and another daughter who picks up wasps and earwigs with her bare hands and tries to show them to everyone

this goes hand in hand with my inability to convince my oldest to try a vegetable but I can't seem to harvest any sugar snap peas because she keeps sneaking out to the garden to eat them all

I've been telling myself for years that I was going to make a quilt for our bed, I've never gotten around to it, between life and kiddos it's just been a project on the back burner. Well, I stumbled upon a beautiful, new, handmade quilt for sale on facebook marketplace. It has an olive green scalloped border and a country hearts design. It's absolutely beautiful and the woman was willing to ship it to me! Can't wait to show you guys when it arrives!

M went out yesterday in the pouring rain to pick black raspberries while I stayed home to snuggle a sick baby. From that I baked a loaf of black raspberry sourdough bread, and a quick batch of jam. It's always so exciting to take something that grows wild all over our property and make it into something delicious to feed my family <3

my dream kitchen is slowly coming to life. it's hard to believe that two years ago this room was a bedroom.

the girls are away at their grandmothers house for the week so I've been working on painting our kitchen cabinets while M works on putting a front porch on the cottage. this is going to be an entirely different home by the time the girls return!

and made a loaf of pine tar and a "gardener's" soap today! Hopeful to be back selling at the farmer's market next year with soap, sourdough bread, and fresh produce <3
