athenasriddle:
athena watched as the person in front of her moved– it was almost as if they were moving in slow-motion. “i’m sorry, can you say that again ?? ever since someone gave me this cookie everything feels so much SLOWER.”
“I asked if you were okay, you seem to be a little bit uh -- off your coral reef.”
julesbcrden:
upon clocking the glistening object within the other student’s grasp, jules eyed them with a suspicious stare. “ not that i care too much, but why are you carrying a knife through university halls? ”
“I found it outside.” Gaze darting from the other to the knife that she held haphazardly, held at a stretch between her index finger and thumb, much too fearful of the object to grasp it entirely. “Well, I don’t exactly know what to do with it now, so uh -- do you want it?”
evangelos-kaligaris:
“Is there a reason you’re staring at me like I kick puppies?”
“The real question is why do you look like a person who kicks puppies? But also looks like a person who kicks sharks for the fun of it.”
logan-bjorgman:
Logan cursed under his breath repeatedly as he walked down the halls with a dead, wet goldfish lying in his hands. “What the fuck are you looking at?“ He asked, barely looking at the other person in the hallway. Knowing they were there was enough to bother him. "Can’t a guy put his fucking fish to rest without some ass staring him down? I’m in mourning, leave me alone.” He wasn’t sure what to do with it, but he knew that all drains led to the ocean or some crap like that, and he felt like flushing his dead fish down there would just make him feel like he was polluting the water.
“You do know that fish need water to live, right?” An instantly snapped response to the male, features immediately twisting in an unflattering manner. When Misty’s gaze had first settled on him, she had held sympathy, yet as he appeared closer and holding a dead creature that held much resemblance of home, but with the add on his attitude -- it had brought out the desire to place blame rather than to find understanding. “You probably killed the poor guppy by carrying it around like that all day.”

‘Sorry, didn’t quite catch that.’ Voice that projected from underneath the covers, causing an immediate jolt free from sleep with feet that failed to gain grip on the sheets and fingers that frantically had danced across the cotton to find the culprit. Half-expecting to find another human under the sheets, or even another animal that had suddenly crawled under, but all that lingered had been her latest possession, a phone. “What?” A mutter under her breath that had caused the screen to light up once more and the same former phrase to be repeated back to her, although by the time it had finished -- the phone had been in the air and making a collision with the opposing wall. Scream enough to wake the entirety of the building, no care for the disturbance nor the fact she made a harder collision with the floor than necessary. Frantic need to free herself from the sheets that had her brought to all fours before crawling and throwing herself upwards once close enough to the doorway. Fingers failing to grasp a hold of the handle of the ajar door fast enough, feet dancing on the wooden flooring like it had been freshly waxed and struggling to move forward, making her resemble a cartoon character before leaving dust behind. “Roman!” A scream of her roommate's name once in the hallway, failure to keep herself from slipping on the flooring once more, wooden panels swiftly becoming an enemy in her urgency. Balled fists connecting with the others door, no desire to spare him from her nighttime terror as within moments, she had flung open his door and had been dancing on the balls of her feet in the threshold of his room. “Roman, wake up!”

“I promise, I know what I’m doing. I’ve been hiking for years and my dad taught me everything else that I didn’t learn at camp.” jane had been adventuring for quite some time now - close to 6 years, was it? after her accidental visit to neverland, her parents had been reluctant to let her go away to adventure camps, but with the promise of weekly letters, they’d agreed to let her go. “i promise, no nets, no knife. i’ll leave both there. are you okay with insect repellant, though? i’d really rather not get any bug bites while we’re out…”
“Hiking? Is that like biking, but with hikes instead of bikes?” Mouth falling open slightly in thought, eyes shifting off into the distance as if expecting the answer to come riding over the gravel on a bike. Alas, she was left without a single thought, seemingly with less information than she had begun with. “Then I’ll agree to go, since both are staying here. What exactly is insect repellant -- does it kill the bugs or will it kill me? I’m not a bug, but I don’t know how closely related sharks are to bugs.”
jubileejamison:
“exactly.” jubilee nodded. “never fun being ordinary.” she smiled brightly at the girl. “clreaming at the top of your lungs? how i’d love to do that; sadly, however, i don’t have a sound proof room. Even the practice rooms in the music room aren’t sound proof, no matter how much they claim to be.”
“The only problem is, I’ve never really known what ordinary is, so what if I’m ordinary and having fun? Then I’m ruining the ‘be unusual’ movement.” Confusion evident for a moment, her features twisting in thought before smoothing out with a light laugh. “I’ve never heard of a soundproof room before, but it must be useless if it isn’t soundproof. Maybe you need to start a petition for better soundproofing, but until then how about screaming underwater? If you’re in the pool alone then no one will hear you.”

“If you see things while they’re asleep or while it’s bright out, they’re really not so scary! You should come with me sometime so I can show you.” As much as it pained her to say it, she knew what she needed to do. “I won’t use my knife, at all, if you just let me show you what my adventures are like. I’ll even apologize to the flowers.” The girl never said she had to mean it, so Jane figure it wouldn’t hurt to go through the motions.
“I suppose, but I’m still scared of things inside, never mind those that are outside. Maybe I will go with you, at least you seem to know what you’re doing -- or I at least hope that you do.” Edges of her lips tugging upwards, it made it impossible for her to force back a smile much longer especially while being offered an adventure. “If you promise no knife then I’ll go, but none of those weird net things either, I’m not a fan of those. I think the flowers would like that, especially for killing their loved ones.”
romanmater:
“I don’t see any fins, do you?” Roman’s grin remained unphased in the face of the other’s scowl. On the contrary, it only succeeded in humouring him further, head tilted slightly and eyebrow disappearing beneath his hair line. The impulse to prod at her once more simmered beneath the surface, solely to witness Misty’s reactions. “Says who? See, you don’t even know what a tractor is – you’re an embarrassment.” The faux offense had been temporarily, surrendering quickly to the laughter that bubbled freely from his lips. “Liar, liar, engine on fire.” A childish taunt – one that had been a fairly common resort for cars much younger than himself, and often accompanied by a rather immature display of the tongue. “You don’t have to believe me, just know that I’m never going to share my amazing idea’s with you.” He’d shrugged at that, indifferent facade relatively weak given his inability to suppress the upward tugging of his lips. “Where’s the fun in that? I can’t hand over all my secrets to you, seaweed.”
“If I had fins right now then I’d be dying, do you want me to die?” Scowl soon replaced by a smile, lips forced into an upward motion with little fight against the action, especially while in the other’s presence. His grin making the circumstances much more challenging to fight against. “Says me, I’m great at detecting lies.” Palm pressed against her chest, intended it to be placed over her heart as a promise, instead of hovering to the right. “Well, I bet you don’t know what a royal gramma is or have even seen a jellyfish.” Childish play as she stuck her tongue out in response, not wishing to admit that her lack of knowledge had caused irritation and embarrassment when forced to question every small and insignificant item. His taunt causing her hands to pat down her frame, seeking on the so-called fire than had been burning. “My -- my what’s on fire?” She spun on the spot, resembling that of a puppy that had made the attempt to catch it’s own tail rather than to distinguish if it’s tail had been on fire. “I’ll never believe you or be upset about you not sharing, although you should share them since you called me seaweed.”

reesesxpiece:
“If you really wanted to take it in the pool with you, I’m sure you could take it to Office Depot and they could laminate it for you.” Reese paused, unsure of whether or not the girl was familiar with laminating, but figured she should probably explain the process as best she could, just to be safe. “So, I mean, they’d put the paper in between plastic for you and it would be safe from dirt and sand and water and everything. You could bring it in the pool and it’d be all fine.” In all honesty, the only things Reese had ever gotten laminated were honor roll awards that she eventually threw out, but she had to say, those things stayed immaculate to their last days. “Thank you.” Reese smiled as she took the shells. When she got back to her room, she’d add the shells to her ‘family jar’ - a mason jar she kept on her desk that she filled with things that reminded her of home. So far, the jar hardly contained much : just some rings, a bit of lace, and a lavender sachet. The brunette giggled as she watched the other girl eyeing the multitude of gel pens on the table. “Tell me what to do, what colors to use, and I’ll make it as colorful as you want.” Reese flipped to a clean page in her sketchbook and opened the bags of gel pens, ready to start.
“Laminate.” Soft mumble leaving Misty’s lips at the fresh addition to her vocabulary, trying to place it’s meaning and rattling her head, as if the answer would somehow come to her if enough force was applied. Lips ready to part, question on the tip of her tongue when the other had answered it, causing her to swallow back the response with a light laugh. “Oh, that sounds pretty cool. I might need that for all my school books too, I’ve already ruined three of them by taking them into the pool.” Gaze falling to the image again, proud grin placed on her features, with nodding approval that she would hunt out someone to laminate it for her. Happily humming as the other took the shells, placing the remaining back within the confines of her backpack, surely to be lost among a wide variety of items that had taken her fancy. “Hm, you’ve got to draw a lot of coral, all kinds of it and seaweed, oh -- and anemones.” Excitement gathering to the point that she had physically begun to fold in on herself, hands clenched in fists that flailed at her chest with every thought that popped to mind. “Loads of blue and green, and orange, also yellow and pink. The pink is my favourite!”
grahamflores:
“Can you repeat the question? Or, uh, rephrase it?” Graham watched the girl examine the paperclip, equal parts confused and amused. He wasn’t sure he had ever seen anyone as fascinated with something as this girl was with her paperclip. “Well, you clip papers together with it. So nothing gets lost.”
“I mean, if the paperclip clips the paper then what does a piece of paper clip -- or does it clip anything?” Attempt to rephrase casting a fresh wave of confusion over herself, gaze switching from the paperclip to the male, as if he had been the reason rather than herself. “How does it hold them together exactly? It looks more like a puzzle to me.”
