Tldr guideverse is kinda of superheroes, just usually set in maybe apocalyptic/dungeon style monsters popping up in the world. Iirc the whole guideverse was born from the fics that were inspired/based on the sentinel tv series (someone correct me if I'm wrong about it) and in the kr sphere, it's a whole genre from webtoonals and webnovels!
Espers are the superheroes, normal humans who manifests superpowers at any age aka the Awakening and mainly their physical physique are enhanced after. The main drawback of espers is when they use more of their powers, there's something like corrosion/poison that accumulate slowly in their bodies that — if it's high levels —it will make them slowly lose control ending in their demise + destruction in their surroundings depending on the rank they have.
Guides, on the other hand, are not much different to usual human but they have the ability to calm and purify the corrosion/poison of espers. Usually they're not depicted as very combat types but there are strong guides who can kick ass. Their main jobs can be like exclusive to one esper, agency only or freelance (depends on the author!) and are also separated by ranks too!
The ranks are the typical F-A then the S/SS classes types. It's also important for them for the ranks to determine sometimes whether some pairs are compatible or not that is tested via their machines. Normal setting have like the 50%-80% are standard ok for the pairs having compatible energies. Ofc if it's the fated pair or what it'll be around 90% above.
There are agencies that handles them all, maybe gov't and/or private owned. When i said a guide can be contract by their agency, they're not tied to one esper to guide and can help esper who don't have partners. Freelance is kinda self-explanatory that they can choose and compromise with their esper they're hired for when they guide whenever.
The main thing—Guiding— is the physical contact between esper and guide, using the guide's energy to cleanse the esper's waves which they are monitored through the watches provided for them.
Of course there are three levels of physical contact: basic is simple hand holding. Next level is "mucous contact" aka kissing then the most effective especially for very dire situations on espers who's risk of completely lose themselves is sex guiding as i call it. The effectiveness of these are better the more compatible the pair is whether assigned/contracted or not. It's also the main reason why in almost all stories, the espers are the ones who gets obsessive and possessive on guides when they're very much matched with their own energy.
So yeah uhm long tldr aside, clark being one the rare S type espers who's the strongest amongst the s class and bruce as one of the best combat guides in the field, maybe S class or A class, who helps in fighting against monsters. He does mainly protect and provide safety for the civilians and guide the espers when needed while on occasion assist in the monster slaying with his weapons.
They're not acquainted at first til he probably got some guidance from bruce because he was on the high risk of losing control. Clark immediately got fascinated by the guide who's energy is so so nice and cooling against his body. He wants him to be his exclusive guide. He wonders how it'll be if he has bruce underneath him, in tears and their energies flowing as he fucks his pussy.

Ah, if it's based on Sentinel then it's not for me. For some reason I never got into it. I've seen a few episodes and it never clicked. Whenever I see a fic with sentinel au tag, I skip it lol
