If someone were to tell him, the great Oikawa Tooru, that he was going to be spirited away into space, he would have laughed directly into that person’s face and left. When he was younger, Oikawa had obsessed about space. Aliens this, galaxies that. Aside from volleyball, it was the only other passion he had. The older he got, the more he tried to hide it.
After all, what respectful person would want to date him, a volleyball legend in his own respective right, if he was into something like aliens and space?
That all went out the window once he moved out and went to Brazil. Sure, he still loved volleyball. But now he didn’t hide his love for anything anymore. None of that high school ‘woe is me’ bullshit held him down anymore.
And look at him now! He’s in space! The real deal space! This wasn’t some stupid 4D ride or anything like that! Even the pilot, who was very cute, was kind enough to tell him what was going on. While he should’ve been more cautious about this entire place and thought about the strange instances that led up to arriving here, Oikawa couldn’t stop himself from reveling in the fact that he was in mother freaking space. How could he not be absolutely delighted right now?
When he exited the ship, after a very rocky landing, he toured as much of the place as he could. The Hinderwelt Colony. That’s what they called it. It looked a lot like home so far, but that was okay. Looking down at his I.D., he remembered that he was told to go claim a room in Dorm 4. Did that mean other people were here?! Hell yeah it did. Were they also aliens? Wait…
Did being in space make him the alien?!
Best day ever. Hands down. No one could take this from him. Iwaizumi would be so jealous, hahaha.
With a grin as wide as the ocean, Oikawa made his way towards his respective dorm and opens the door without a single care in the world. His eyes immediately lock onto a young girl eating McDonalds. Now, he expected a lot of things in his life, but to be roomed with a girl? Not one of them.
When she nervously offers the fries, a small laugh escapes him and he closes the door behind him. “Sure, I wouldn’t mi-” A loud growl came from his stomach and his face turns bright red, “I guess I should’ve got something to eat on my way here. Thank you.”
Oikawa takes a couple of the fries, hoping she wouldn’t mind and silently apologizing for it, and takes a seat on the couch next to hers. “I’m Oikawa. Oikawa Tooru. What’s your name?” Polite and to the point. If he guessed right, she was going to be his roommate. As a matter of fact, it seems like there would be more, as well. Interesting. Hopefully they could all get along. That’s when he hears the door squeaking open and he looks over to see his next roommate.
Well, trying to find regular humans was going to be difficult for him. Spencer has been running himself ragged through most of the colony just to find something recognizable and in his good socks. A lot of stores and restaurants were almost the exact places he went to. McDonald’s? For him it was McDougal’s. Plenty of other places were like that. Not quite the same.
Finally giving up, he returned to the place he first arrived to “Dorm #4″. When he opened the door wide enough, two people were sitting on the couch. Everything was uncanny valley and so were the people he could be living with too. Spencer tensed up a little, staring at them. He tried so hard to understand who he was looking at.
After what seemed like hours, he inhaled a lot of air and said in the smallest airy voice, “Why are your eyes so big….”
.
“Miu Takigawa.” The reply was murmured as she leaned away from Oikawa and into the couch arm. She wasn’t expecting him to sit down next to her like that. “Nice to meet you too…” her voice trailed off before returning to her meal, staring at the blank television set. She quietly hoped her name wasn’t one he was familiar with.
Oikawa seemed older, and Miu was a bit surprised the rooming arrangements were like this. Great…
Her last living experience, besides with her mother, had been a company-owned apartment with her group-mates. All girls her age. She really hoped they didn’t expect her to listen to him just because he was older. Tch, who was she kidding - she didn’t have a disrespectful bone in her body. She’d have to listen. Miu was the oldest child, and she had heard all sorts of horror stories about rude older siblings from classmates. He seemed nice, at least.
Miu didn’t have time to dwell on this, however, because her world was suddenly turned upside down - again - by a man who’s very existence seemed to cause a commotion. He seemed...sweaty? Ill? Loud, she thought as he gasped comically in the door.
His unexpected appearance, and his bizarre question, caught her too off guard to respond properly.
“Wh...what?”
