BEST DRESSED: The Oscars 2015
The Academy Awards may have run about 40 minutes overtime last night, but its attendees made up for it with oh so many gorgeous gowns and getups for us to ogle over into Monday morning. While the risks remained overall low, the fashion remained overall high, and it's time to look at our picks for the most fabulously dressed of the night.
Chrissy Teigen
STUN. NING. Teigen wisely stuck with Zuhair Murad this award season and arrived to the Oscars in this pale blue beauty that conjured up an audible "wow" from my lips. She was one of many to rock the beaded trend of the night.
Jennifer Lopez
How is this woman real? J. Lo has slain best dressed lists over and over again and it's easy to tell why with this Elie Saab masterpiece. I would go with a different makeup artist next time, but it's hard to screw up a face that clearly benefits from the Fountain of Youth. Speaking of the Fountain of Youth...
Meryl Streep
The queen has arrived. The long blazer topping off this Lanvin ensemble is so chic, as is everything about Ms. Streep. This pose is unexplainably incredible as well and I want to hang this photo up on my wall a.s.a.p.
Rosamund Pike
Finally! Pike's performance in Gone Girl was so captivating, we've been waiting for her red carpet attire to be the same. Pike hit it so right for the big night with this Givenchy gown and matching red shoe.
Julianne Moore
Photos could not do this sparkling Chanel gown justice. The Best Actress of the night shined in every possible way and looked absolutely beautiful, as always.
David Oyelowo
Oyelowo may have been snubbed for the Best Actor category, but we certainly will not leave him off of our list. He was the best dressed man of the night for sure in this wine red Dolce & Gabbana tux.
Keira Knightley
Knightley has had a shaky awards season when it comes to fashion, so I wanted to applaud her for looking ethereal last night in this woodsy and whimsical Valentino gown. She is glowing as any pregnant woman would be, except, you know, she's Keira Knightley.
Emma Stone
How perfect is Emma Stone? She had one of the most anticipated looks of the night, and did not disappoint in this long sleeved Elie Saab gown in a risky, yet amazing yellow-green color. It took a few seconds to process, but once it did...wow.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Lupita Nyong'o - Beautiful, of course. The heavy beading around the neck was just a bit too heavy.
Anna Kendrick - This was one of her best looks, and it fit her wonderfully, but it just wasn't one of the absolute best looks for me.
Zoe Saldana - This lovely and talented lady had twins just a few months ago, but you would never know it. She looked fabulous.
