Bonsai cringed as his sisters’ screeching got closer and closer. He tried hiding behind Xarsala, but the Coatl laughed and shook her head. “Uh-uh, not this time. She’s your sister, you find out what she wants this time!” He lovingly glared at his mate – he would get back at her later – and braced himself for impact.

Breezie burst through the door of the small hut, and looked around Xarsala’s work space for her target. Her chest was heaving, and she tried to talk between gulps of air.

“Bonny” *gulp* “I gotta show you” *gulp* “she’s just so cute!” *gulp*

Bonsai looked up from one of the alchemy stations to his sister, who was standing in the doorway, arms tightly wrapped around a wriggling hatchling. The small skydancer was chirping, and doing everything in her power to break free of Breezie’s “loving” grasp.
