I’ve realised I should really post some more of the thousands of photos I took in NZ, even though it was nearly 2 years ago... Here’s a classic view to kick things off, the last of the sunlight hitting Mt Cook. #NewZealand #Aoraki #travel #photography #destinationnz (at Hooker Lake) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsv62AyH4Ly/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1kv6kjz1chy8i

Roseberry Topping at Sunset
After managing to leave work early, I was able to get myself up to a viewpoint over this beautiful landscape before sundown. I could see a gap on the horizon had formed and so I eagerly awaited the sun dropping below the clouds. It was a wonderful moment when it finally did. This was my first successful sunset shoot for a while, which added to the enjoyment even more, I was in my element again!
A Snowy Roseberry Topping
I headed up to here with the hope of a colourful sunset, but as it drew closer I realised that wasn't going to happen. I'm quite happy with how it turned out though in the end, I like the monochromatic look of the photo. It was also wonderful to be out walking in this wintery landscape.
Lonely Gorge
After a few hours underground in a cave, I headed very much above ground, to the top of Cheddar Gorge.
The view as you approach from the woods is breathtaking, I couldn’t wait to get set up.
It was daunting being perched on the edge, 400 foot above the road, but it was worth it to capture this solitary car weaving through the magnificent gorge.
Snowdonian Dawn
The elements were forecast to be in our favour this morning, partly cloudy and barely any wind. So it was disappointing to arrive at 6.30am with cloud cover and without still water. However, as we watched the day begin, the clouds started to dissipate, the wind dropped, and this beautiful scene came together. The sky was not as spectacular as we’d hoped, but as we headed off to get breakfast we were certainly pleased that we’d made the effort to get up and watch the sun rise.
Compton Waves
Not the most dramatic of sunsets, but the subtle light worked wonderfully with the vibrant algae on the rocks. This photo was only possible for a short time while the waves were breaking in the right spot, which made it all the more exciting when I got the shot I was after.
