Common Persons Rant

People who put down pro wrestling really piss me off.

It sounds childish but it’s true, it really gets at me. I have been training for the last year and a half and in that time have had very few days where I haven’t had at least some form of pain in my neck, back or shoulders. Every waking hour is dedicated to me just dreaming about wrestling and my aspirations for the future and when people put it down it really affects me on a personal level.

The biggest thing for me is that, as selfish as it sounds, I feel very stepped on. If a friend came up to me and said they did ballet, I would reply with a “Wow, fair play. That must take a lot of skill and dedication”. Maybe that wouldn’t be my exact words but I am always very respectful of their interest and appreciate the fact that they are clearly passionate about it yet a lot of people don’t seem to have that outlook.

“Aw, that fake stuff?” - yeah that fake stuff! That fake stuff where I bet if you were to even try do a basic “fake” bump in a “fake” ring with a load of “fake” wrestlers watching you, you would be eating your dumbass words after you’ve taken so many pathetic attempts at your “fake” bumps you would be going dizzy with the pain and crying for your cushy little team sport and short shorts.

I’m sounding like a massive hypocrite here but fuck, when people who play a sport like soccer where they jog around a field, kicking a piece of leather and going down when their muscles get a little strained have the fucking BALLS to put down wrestling for being “fake” or “scripted”, they need to take a long walk off a very short cliff.

I am yet to hear someone say “wow, you watch the Walking Dead? You know that’s not real, right? I thought only kids watched zombie shows? Would you not watch something more real like Jersey Shore, or anything that isn’t that crap?”

What the fuck is it about people that they feel the need to put something down in such a vicious way and not be considerate of the people they’re offending and how they’re coming across to the fans of the sport/entertainment/crazy world of professional wrestling?

I honestly think I might slap the next guy to say “mate, I don’t get why you watch that fake bollox”.

Excuse me while I go watch a few “fake” wrestlers put their “fake” bodies on the “fake” line. Like that “fake” guy Mick Foley who’s multitude of “fake” injuries sustained in his “fake” life will still nag at him for the rest of his “fake” shortened "fake" lifespan.

When I tell girls or guys that I wrestle and they reply “damn you have balls for doing that I’d never be able to do that” or “if I was a girl I couldn’t never do that.” I simply see that girls are bred to believe that cannot do things capable of a guy, you can do the same. I mean I’ve outsquatted guys and out benched them before (squat 185, bench @ peak shape 135 max) I’ve beaten up a few guys and out lasted them during practice. I might be small I’m really small actually and I hav a petite frame, it doesn’t stop me. Sure it’s more difficult, but hell you’re capable, society just makes you believe you cannot do this or that, don’t believe them you can, break the cycle of being the weaker sex. #breakthecycle #wrestling #wrestler #lioness
