I will forever mourn the dissapointment that Scrooge: A Christmas Carol (2022) made of itself. because the music in this film? fantastic, spectacular, I listen to soundtrack to this day. Luke Evans had bills, mortgage AND child support to pay with that performance. the way they reworked their characters? I kinda don't like some of the choices but still it's at the very least interesting to see. Big fan of Jacob Marley being his sugar-daddy-turned-life-partner, did NOT expect that at all, was NOT dissapointed. the art style is neat, there's a lot of room for work.

so with all of that at hand... they have the Most fuckass shitass storyboards to ever exist. amateur fifth graders design better scene dynamics and draw more epic animatics than whatever that monstrosity is. they were given the Michelin level ingredients and decided to cook rice with boiled chicken. they have had musical numbers and the way they executed it? character paces back and forth, sits, stands up. that's it, the entirety of what was going on on the screen for the majority of the movie. character recalls their past? hmm let's make character pace back and forth, sit, stand, but this time they will see their memories in the sky jfc. it's not even lazy children slop, it's just tasteless, boring and embarassing to watch. it could've been a cinematic masterpiece but instead it's just another movie to be forgotten in a month

not everything in a story has to or should be "realistic" but in my opinion there's a level of illusion that should be maintained, and I think that's the actual problem that many people try to pinpoint with the "unrealistic" criticism. Dialogue shouldn't be written like an actual transcript of human speech, but should contribute to the illusion of a real person speaking. A character is a tool of the story, not a narrative, but we're trying to maintain the illusion that they are a person. Worldbuilding should exist to serve the story, not to be a perfect simulacrum of how every aspect of nature/society etc. would actually play out for real. But there should be the illusion that it could be real, that organizations and systems would operate in such a way, that people might behave in such a way.

in conclusion: "Is this realistic?" <<wrong question. "Does this serve the illusion or disrupt it?" <<now we're talking

Meet Lucien LaChav. He likes to go by Lazza.

His hobbies include performing burnouts in Tesco carpark at 1am in Shadowmotor his 2006 black Corsa (he should probably clean out all the empty McDonald's take away bags soon though).

He also likes to MC. His new EP, 'Only Sithis Can Judge Me' is SoundCloud now. It's aptly named after the tattoo with the same quote across his chest. It includes songs such as 'Malice and Pain' 'Speaking Up' and 'Startin Rumors' They aren't too bad actually he is quite the poet.

He acts like a hard man but he is a mothers boy deep down. He also has two kids of his own but considers himself a "hands-off father" they don't see him much and he doesn't pay child support.

He can often be found at house parties and raves mooching ciggies even if nobody knows who he is or who he came with.

He lives in his one bed flat in Farragut which he refers to as a "studio apartment" when asked where he lives. You will usually never see him in anything but a black Adidas tracksuit, some say he has a ponytail but he never takes his hood down so it's hard to tell really. He smells of lynx Africa and cigarettes and looks like he hasn't slept in about a week.

Sheo and Haskill are so. They’re at a level of gay coding that’s kind of hard to describe. They aren’t kissing on screen but they are undeniably married. Forever entwined. Haskill was a Sheogorath that Sheo loved too much to lose to his vast oversoul. So he’s at his side forever. It’s hard to imagine how a Sheo even functioned without Haskill's help.

And the place the player comes in here is so juicy. They literally inherit this relationship. The first important thing Sheo gives you is the ability to summon and pester Haskill. The player is expected to do this at every stage of the questline because he has unique dialogue for all of it. In a sense a crucial part of becoming Sheogorath is Bothering And Treasuring Haskill.

Also they’re played by the two most iconic voice actors in the series? What a fucking treat for us all.
