Please remember that this is not an 'end all be all' critique- if you're looking for answers about a specific OCs position, we are unfortunately not able to offer it. This document is designed to showcase our casting process, not to give specific reviews.

Also note that, regardless of any information in this document, the biggest consideration behind all our casting decisions was sheer numbers. We had so, so many great applications and only 19 spots able to be filled.

Good morning, Model Myopia!

Due to some last-minute mod-schedule conflict, we have decided to postpone the roster drop by one day. At the original time of drop, we weren’t sure if we’d be able to have all hands on deck, and ended up deciding it would be better to make sure we’re available for any situations that arise. We know that this isn’t the kind of news that everyone is eager to here, but we appreciate your patience! In the end, we figured that it would be much easier on everyone if we were all free at the time than to end up with a situation where none of us were around to post last minute.

That being said, the Model Myopia roster video will officially drop at 3:00 PM PST on Saturday, April 22nd. I’ll leave a breakdown of common time zone conversions below:

> 6:00 PM EST

> 11:00 PM BST

> 12:00 AM CEST

> 8:00 AM (Sunday) AEST

Full context, I’m not sure about all the time zones as far as Daylight Saving’s goes, but I’m.. hoping these are all right! We’ll **be pinging an hour before the drop**, as well, so you’ll be able to see that way if you aren’t the exact hour.

In addition to the video, we’ll also be adding a **text-based roster write-up**, for anyone who’s unable to play the video at the moment of drop— or who just wants to check that, first! This will be included **under the cut in the Tumblr post**. We may also include it in spoiler brackets on Discord, but I’m not sure at this very the moment.

With all that said, I think that’s it from me for now until it’s game day… I’m always around to answer any last minute questions or address any concerns, too though, so reach out if you need me.

Oh no- thanks for letting us know, anon! Definitely not intentional, haha... I can't see any clear bugs on the main edit page for why the dropdown feature isn't working any longer, so I'm guessing it's something in the code that got thrown out of wack in one of Tumblr's updates. I'll work on fixing it!

How much of the art is done

Hi anon!

As our mods are working on pieces collaboratively rather than individually, a measure of how many individual pieces are done isn’t going to give an accurate timeline for when our game will be dropping, if that’s the underlying concern here. We mentioned this in the server, but won’t be doing a countdown or tally, since the team decided they would prefer if their work could be done privately. We are, however, making great progress on the assets for the game, which includes the art!

We know it’s hard to wait for good things, but it’s also been less than a month since we decided the cast- please be patient! We’ll be giving updates throughout the process, but it will not contain specific numbers unless we’re giving the okay from the art team. We appreciate your patience!

Hello, hello— I forgot to. Make the official post on here that we finished our reading process, but here’s the official post letting g you know that at this time we have finalized our cast roster, and have handed our cast over to the art mods! In addition, our power roles have been contacted and accepted their positions! We are very excited to get this show on the road, and so grateful for all your hard work during the application process!! ❤️

To keep you guys in the loop, we are accepting 19 player applications, (not including 3 mod OCs) raising our initial estimate of 18 up by 1— due to the awesome quality of apps we received. :]

Teaser - 'Then'

In his father’s office, there is a dollhouse.

It belongs to his sister, the boy knows, but has sat unattended in her absence. Unlike himself, he knows that his sibling avoids visiting this place as often as she can.

The boy knows this and resents her for it. He resents this toy, too, as he sits at his father’s desk. His father is in a meeting, he thinks, or visiting the assembly line. The boy is too old for dolls, but not yet old enough to follow his father around from room to room. Though he knows this office by heart, the rest of the sprawling campus remains something of a mystery to him.

This will all be his one day, the child knows, but that will be then- and this is now. Now, his legs swing, still inches to go before they so much as scrape ground. Now, he waits for his father to return instead of accompanying him. Now, he does not know much of this kingdom—

— except one thing. A secret thing, something that is his and not his sister’s.

The boy looks at the dollhouse again, and he feels pride that he had the sense to discard the dolls last time he was here. The absence of the house would be noted, missed, but the lack of its inhabitants (thrown into the nearest gutter he found) have gone days without note. There is no one here to see him now, to share in this secret that he alone was given.

In his father’s office, there is a dollhouse with no dolls. (Soon, he thinks, there will be no dollhouse, either. When he is in charge, there will be no need for dolls. There will be no need for her. When then is now, that is.

In his father’s office, there is a boy who will become Richard Wolfe Jr. But for now, for the moment, he is Jakob: Jakob the boy, Jakob the younger, Jakob who knows a secret which his sister does not.

“On.” So he speaks to the secret, to the thing which is nobody (nobody yet), just because he can. Because this too will be his someday, as everything will.

In his father’s office, there is a boy.

“Boyd.” (A boy who is smiling.) “On.”

In his father’s office, the thing which is Nobody hears— and obeys.

Applications Now Closed!

Hello of three hours later~! I appreciate your patience— but I come baring gifts (mainly announcements and one (1) teaser) that will be posted after this. Nothing too exciting, but!

First things first, on behalf of the Model Myopia Mod Team, we want to give a huge congratulations to all our applicants! Please give yourself a huge pat on the back— that was not the world’s shortest app by any means, and we are so proud of you for fighting through it. Yahoo!!

For anyone who didn’t get an app in but had been thinking about it, or had a schedule conflict, or anything- please know that we completely understand. App or no app, we are grateful to have each and every one of you here in this server!

We received an incredible push of extensions— bringing our application count to a grand total offfff (🥁) 66 applications and 56 unique muns! Thank you to all of you for trusting us with your OCs, your time, and (sometimes) your pictures of your pets that we have been enjoying immensely. :] We are so insanely excited to read them all (officially!) and to see what you guys came up with!!

That being said, there’s a few things to note moving forwards:

We don’t know yet how long it will take us to read all the apps, or how long it will take to pick a cast from that list. We will be keeping you guys in the loop as much as we possibly can! That being said, the process for this game involves a lot of individual details— mainly that, in addition to balancing our cast, we also have to balance and ensure the consistency of our world building document. Because of the unique challenges of world building in this game, we may be DMing people to ask whether certain aspects, species characterizations, and dates are alright with you if we change them. Please note that being asked a question like this doesn’t mean anything specific, and your answer will not be used to harm your app in any way. We’ll be asking any follow-ups and permissions before we begin choosing the cast itself, so we know the compatibility of each OC with any others. If you don’t get asked anything, either, it just means that the app fits into our lore with no tweaks required!

Another note. You might notice the (+ 3) now added to the Hopeful’s list, but no + 3 three occupations. This is because the total accounts for the mod OC spots, but the Mod OCs have not currently been decided. For the sake of fairness, we won’t be choosing moderator OCs until we have selected the rest of our cast- that way no app has the interference of being ‘too similar’ or something. On the cast day the cast is decided, though, we will be updating this list with mod OC occupations— for the sake of information access fairness! :catcheer~1:

The current plan is that there will be 18 spots with an additional 3 mod OCs, leaving us with a total cast of 21. However, this isn’t set in stone- we’re flexible. Rest assured that the number of player spots will not decrease, of course, but has the potential to increase (or be substituted for a Mod OC) depending on how our casting process goes.

We’ll be popping in from time to time to do more updates, and as I said- our goal is definitely to keep you all as in the loop as possible! That being said, if you ever have any questions, please feel free to use the questions channel as usual…!

Thank you all very much once again! As of now, the Hopeful’s list has been fully updated. If you don’t see your applicant on there, it’s possible we may have missed it— just shoot me a DM and I’ll get it fixed!

Dun Dun Dun... we're now a little over 16 hours away from the extension application deadline. It's about 27 hours, really, but I would feel bad pinging at midnight PST- and frankly, I will probably be asleep shortly. Either way, however, I've made a countdown that will hopefully be helpful for those of you who do not live in the coolest best timezone ever (PST Sweep. PST nation rise up). Keep in mind, this countdown doesn't calculate the grace period.

On the topic of the grace period, I've decided it's easier just to make it the same window as we did for the last one- so you will (techincally) have until January 6th at Noon PST (12:00 PM) to do last minute edits/submissions. But please, *please* do not wait till last minute if at all possible- I will be at work tomorrow and Friday from 7 A.M. onwards as always as usual, so I may not be super available for last minute details/checks/ect!

when the cast first arrive in rp at the myri-ad houses are they under the impression that they will be visiting to see their houses and then move all of their stuff in later, or do they think they are moving in with all of their stuff when they first arrive? aka what does the cast think they are meeting up for when they first arrive?

Good question!! When they first arrive, the cast will think it’s their actual move-in day— however, they will be under the impression that they won’t be unable to leave, of course. Myri-AD has promised to move all their stuff, as well, so they won’t need to worry about packing up all their heavier furniture. That will definitelyyyy arrive later! Promise! 😉

Hello, hello! Tonight marks the final night to get those applications in without extensions! They’ll be due tonight (12/31) at midnight PST, with a grace period to submit or grab an extension until tomorrow (1/1) at noon. I think most people are in the Hopeful Server, but if you aren’t and need a few extra days— no worries! Here’s an extension request form which will give you until January 5th at 11:59 PM. All you’ll need to do is give us your Discord tag (letters and numbers!) and list the occupation for the OC you’ll be submitting an application for.

If someone else applied a specific species, can someone else apply another character of the same species?

Yes, definitely!! We assume this will probably happen, in fact, since there’s some fantasy species (vampires, ect) that have a lot of popularity. We definitely won’t be using a ‘one or another’ system of grading when it comes to species, so don’t worry at all about trying to match your version of a certain species to what someone else might be applying! We’re using Percy Jackson logic for this game, where everything is basically able to exist (and does!) at the same time.

can we know if there will be a dead world or is that spoilers?

Yes!! There will be a dead world mechanic featured in Model Myopia! However, unlike some games, it will not be something that connects the dead and the living— so dead characters will be able to thread and interact with each other, but they won’t be able to thread or interact with the living.

Deadline Extension!

Hello, hello! I hope your week’s been off to a good start so far~! We come with an important (and hopefully welcome) announcement! Having due dates in December is always a bit awkward, with finals crunch and holidays and what not. Looking over the calendar, the last day for extensions was going to be Friday, December 23rd. Mostly because most of us will be busy with holiday stuff that weekend and might not be available for last minute questions. But that did leave you a weekend less.

So… with that being said, we’ve decided that we will be extending the overall application period until December 31st. Yahoo! That means everyone will have up until this time to get those apps tweaked, and hopefully get a little stress off you guys during the busiest seasons! That being said, because we are extending it by about over week and we would like to keep this game decently on track, the 31st will be a hard deadline— basically meaning that there will be no extra extension period this date to turn in apps. There will definitely be a grace period of some kind (a 12ish hour window after the 21st while the mods are in bed), but otherwise this will be it! I’ll be changing the deadline on the blog theme when I get back to my desktop as well to avoid any confusion.

We hope this comes this comes as positive news! For those of you who are nearly done with your apps, keep up the pace~! It does help us enormously not to get tons at the last minute, though this would never count against your application by any means.
