Hi Miraculous fandommmm, I guess I can be called Mod Cooper!!! Iām a fan artist of videogames and superhero media. Iāve been in the shitstorm that is The Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir since it was announced to exist....and all these years Iāve only stuck around because of the potential the show holds and how the fandom always seems to hit the sweet spot. So, after talking with my sister about how power scales in miraculous anger me, I finally decided to rework the entire series. Keeping the characters and superheroism, but changing all the stupid shit! Then I told my very best friend Nova (Iām so madly in love with you - Mod Nova), because sheās been in the same boat as me, and now we have had so much fun creating this au that we wanted to share it!
My philosophy going into this project is to be the opposite of Thomas Astruc, I want to be open to interpretation, critique, suggestions, and more! I want to keep this au broad, I have (most) of the characters changed, abilities and motivation wise, and we have story beats and plot points; but in the end I want to keep room for others to join in. I want to create a fun au for others to share. Nova and I have some set stuff, but hey if you wanna do something different feel free!Ā
So this blog will be character sheets, character interactions, character relationships, story beats, plot twists, and lots of stupid jokes! This has brought us lots of joy, and I hope it does for you too. Signed- Mod Cooper

Hey Hey Miraculous..ers...! Guess from now on Iāll be known as Mod Nova. Iām a more casual fan artist than Mod Cooper, but Iāve been told that I can write (not well, but I can write!)(SHEāS SO AMAZING-MOD COOPER). I didnāt realize how much I still cared about Miraculous until Mod Cooper gave me an outlet for my frustration. Like a bad relationship, I always held on hope that it could get better ātil the day she brought me to my senses. Now, not even S4ā²s pretty good finale could revive those hopes...
So here we are! As much as I may joke that Iām making Miraculous ābetter,ā all we want is is to give fans like us a chance to forge the story we were hoping to see when we first started watching. I canāt promise weāll make everyone happy, but me and Mod Cooper definitely will be want to listen to everyoneās feedback! Even if we canāt incorporate every suggestion in our main story, Iām still more than happy to brainstorm and help others develop their own personal versions!Ā
Me and Mod Cooper also just wanted to share all the fun weāve been having with the world. I view this blog as a testament to our love for Miraculousās potential, but also our friendship! We have some really, really stupid jokes coming your way. Stay tuned! Signed- Mod Nova
She gets paired off to a dormitory with her new roommate, Marinette Dupain Cheng, and the 2 become fast friends. Alya loves her creativity and kind heart, Marinette loves how she listens and confidence. With the duo quickly becoming inseparable, what adventures will they get up to?
RENA ROUGE
Ability: Illusion, with the power of her mystical flute, Rena Rouge can create a multitude of visual illusions. With intense focus, she can give density and physicality to these illusions, though she hasn't had much practice with this yet.
ALYAAA Here is the first of the never before seen character concepts! I am SO glad I never posted her back then cuz oh my GOD the first pass was terrible. I'm much happier with this version. I wanted to give her a more casual nerdy fit, fit with pins. I also wanted to give her a fuller figure and dressed her clothing styles that flow with this change. She also has a spider necklace for her sister! I liked giving her full texture in her hair, I thought the headband was cute too. Overall, she's so pretty oh my goodness.
Rena! I like the canon design fine, but I wanted to stretch where I could get inspiration from. I ended up using Mumbo from Teen Titans 03 and Sardonyx from Steven Universe to give Rena Rouge a more magician focused design. I love the coattails merging into becoming her tail so I kept that, gave her the white eyes superhero mask as I think Alya's idea of a superhero would be affected by her interest in comics/cartoons, and black gloves to heighten that "slight of hand" idea as it's harder to tell where they're at in the dark.
I'm so happy with her design so much, which is saying something cuz I do love her canon one! I've always been an Alya defender, yes she would get me mad when she'd enable Marinette but idgaf if she killed someone I'm sure she had a reason. See you next week for our next character! - Mod Cooper
AND NOW, REVAMPED ADRIEN oh my god I did it again, I colored his socks the same as the stripe in the bg FUCK
ANYWAY HERE IS THE ORIGINAL POST just like Marinette, stuff should still be holding up! I'm a lot happier with Chat but not so much Adrien... but I need to live with it lol
BEHOLD, THE FIRST OF THE REDRAWN CHARACTER SHEETS.
I'll be linking the original post here as the character inspiration and additional writing should still hold up, the only difference is the art and I remembered I wanted Marinette to be slightly less confident but not in a "I can't do anything" way but like a "Ohh it's happening I suck" way that flares up. It's probably make more sense when we do more relationship stuff but for now, I hope you like the updated art!
My goodness it's been 4 years LOL OUR BAD, we hit a little rut and then we got busy cuz we're adults and shit but guess what... we reset our password and we're here.
For now, I will be posting updated character artwork for Marinette and Adrien, and will steadily be posting new characters' artwork each week! The character stories will be posted at their own time at mod Nova's discretion (no rush of course). I've just been pretty proud of how my art has changed in these 4 years (art school helps i guess) so I wanted to revive the blog a bit before time settles and I start disliking my art again lol
I know we don't have many eyes on us, so this is just to touch base with the universe and maybe for future eyes. Just like season 6, we are back with a new art style and intriguing writing, so I hope someone out there enjoys!
Supermodel. Eligible bachelor. Household name. All words to describe Parisā favorite heartthrob, Adrien Agreste. As the son of renowned fashion designer Gabriel Agreste, Adrien has lived in the spotlight since the moment he was born. So when Master Fu chooses him to wield the Miraculous of the Cat, he has no trouble adjusting to his immediate rise in fame as Parisā new hero, Chat Noir. Although he could also be referred to as The First Hero of Paris, Chat Noir prefers to defer to Coccinelle and act instead as her right hand arm⦠man.
Not much is known about Adrienās life outside of his work, seeing as he and his father rarely share anything with the press or make public appearances. Itās thus a shock to all of France when the young model suddenly begins publicly attending college. School work, modeling, and saving Paris? Adrienās got his work cut out for him if he wants to live a normal life!
CHAT NOIR
Ability: Cataclysm, an aura of destruction contained in his hand. He seems to be able to control how bad the destruction is, from full disintegration to cracking to pieces.Ā
Adrien my beloved...When it came to designing Adrien himself, I wanted to stick with a darker palette. No offense to his white shirt, but I wanted a layered look so itās underneath now. I kept the same stripes though. Also, darker jeans because the bright blue....nah. The necklace is hidden by his hand but it has a birth stone at the end of it! (Not his own however, possibly the one of a gone family member.) For his hair, itās pretty much just shorter on the bottom, nothing too crazy. Also since heās such a fashionable guy, gave him a nice watch to keep track of his fatherās schedule- and some stud earrings! Oh, and thereās a cane? Tbh it was a last minute addition when Nova and I remembered beta Adrien/chatās cane and it ended up working with the story Nova made! Itās nothing too flashy, I think Gabriel picked out the sleek subtle design on purpose. I kept him with a slim physique, toned but lean, I think thatās a model thing.
Chat noir my other beloved...Tbh I think Chat Noir has a great canon design the only problem is that Adrien is 15. The aesthetic behind it made 13 year old me go crazy when the show first started but growing up I was just like....thatās a baby in leather gross. So, now that I aged him up, I think the costume is less disturbing lol. I kept the same look, with just an additional black shade to add some variety. Also put some green in! Gave him green beans, I think theyāre cute and show the Adrien aspect in theĀ āsexyā Chat design. The popped collar...totally stole it from the PV.
Fun fact! I dislike the PV! A lot. Itās so 2000ā²s anime in the worst way imo, but they popped off with the Chat design I love it. So I stole the popped collar and added a choker, Adrien is going all out on his free look lmao. I kept his shaggy hair, maybe a bit longer? Or more...I donāt know how to describe it lol. I love a bleach blonde look and I think it contrasts nicely with the black suit.
And thatās Adrien/Chat!! Heās always been a favorite even through his stupid, stupid, STUPID moments... He was a delight to tweak and Iām very happy with him! I canāt wait to draw some cute Chat Noirs! - Mod Cooper
Master Fu didnāt know what he was looking for when he began to search for the new heroes of Paris, but it certainly wasnāt the accident-prone young girl he kept running into during the middle of the cityās worst disasters. Not only was she always present, but the girl seemed to have a knack for becoming involved in the situation. Things were to the point where even the first responders knew her by name.
The first time Master Fu noticed her, the girl had somehow tripped over some police tape and gotten herself tangled together with a small child. The next time she was being helped down from a tree by a group of firefighters. This pattern of unintentional involvement followed her, and it soon became impossible for him not to notice her constantly being kept behind the police for a statement. That is, if she wasnāt being wheeled away in the back of an ambulance.Ā
Thus what began as a strange coincidence became an unwavering certainty: If there was a disaster, Marinette Dupain-Cheng would be there, whether she wanted to be or not.Ā
Master Fu stopped listening to the emergency hotlines and found himself tailing the young girl instead. Quite frankly, following her turned out to be a necessity for his mission. She had a talent for reaching emergencies right at their peak- the critical moment when heroes were often born. It was to the point, in fact, that the girlās reliably bad luck often had her at disaster zones far before the first responders were ever even notified.
In order to increase his chances of finding her, Fu began to implement walks along these streets near what he later found out to be her parentās bakery. The girlās responsibilities at home and school kept her daily routine rather predictable, but on days when she was free to do as she pleased, Marinette was anything but. One of her favorite pastimes was walking aimlessly around the city, happy to wander around wherever the wind took her in the name of divine inspiration (or so sheād proclaim in monologues to herself when she thought no one was around). The girl was definitely the artistic type- an aspiring fashion designer to be precise. Fu would be lying if he said her designs werenāt good, and on quiet days he found himself able to appreciate her creative process from afar.Ā
Unfortunately for Marinette, her free-spirited wandering led her to disasters more often than it did ādivine inspiration.ā
Honestly he did feel a little guilty using the girlās misfortune to his benefit, but Master Fu could hardly focus on that in the heat of the moment. There were too many factors to consider when determining if someone had the makings of a good hero, so it was easy to lose sight of the girl rather quickly. Of course he made it a point to check on her safety after each resolution, but otherwise his eyes were usually glued to any person who looked to be capable of heroics.
It took him far too long to realize that Marinette Dupain-Cheng was one of those people.Ā
In hindsight, he definitely should have been keeping a closer eye on her, but Master Fu never expected the girl to be the type to run towards a burning building. The sight of her springing into action had him rooted to the floor in surprise, a rare occurrence for a man who had done his fair share of hero work in the past. He was a Guardian for crying out loud! But there she was, sprinting ahead of the dumbstruck man with her arms outstretched towards a child he had failed to see. The child was stuck on the upper floor and had gotten as far as sticking one leg out of the window before freezing completely. Even with Marinette promising to catch him a few feet below, he couldnāt do anything aside from shake his head frantically.Ā
When the girl turned around again, Master Fu could hardly believe it was the same cheerfully ditzy girl staring back at him. Marinette had an intense look in her eyes, fear absent from her expression as she scanned her surroundings for anything that could help her. Fu watched in awe as she ran back into the crowd, pointing at an awning at a nearby hotel building and calling for others to help her. Within seconds Marinette and the newly formed group of onlookers were back beneath the window, holding out an extended blanket over all of their heads. By this time, the boy had managed to pull himself out of his shock for long enough to sit fully on the window sill. Marinette called out to him encouragingly, her sentiments echoed by the group and the rest of the bystanders, and soon the boy was pushing himself off his perch and into the safety of the awning below. For a brief, terrifying moment, it looked as though the weight of the impact could cause the group to lose their grip on the material, but Marinette was there just as quickly, ducking to catch the child the moment the first set of hands gave way.Ā
The crowd let out a collective sigh of relief as the child was safely deposited onto the floor, and cheered when they heard the sounds of emergency vehicles approaching. Master Fu's smile faded slightly however when he caught sight of the boy looking around at the group in confusion. Was he looking for someone? The first responders would reconnect him with his family soon enough, Fu reasoned, and started to walk away from the scene when he came to the sudden realization.Ā
He had lost sight of Marinette again.Ā
Fuās neck snapped back towards the last place he had seen Marinette, right underneath the window. The thought of her running inside the building flashed through his mind while he scanned the area, but that train of thought was interrupted as he caught sight of the abandoned awning. The shiny material moved and glinted in the sun unnaturally at first, but soon Fu was able to spot a hand pushing through the mass.Ā
Laughter bubbled up from Fuās chest, thoroughly impressed, relieved, and humored as Marinette clawed her way out of the entanglement. His laughter was cut short though, breath suddenly catching in his throat, and he coughed into his fist from the shock of the transition.Ā Someone was at his side for a moment, patting his back and asking if heād inhaled any smoke, but he shook his head and insistently waved them off. No, he had been startled at the thought that had invaded his head. This was nothing different from all of the times the girl had gotten herself caught up in a humorous situation in the middle of a public emergency, right? Master Fu stared at the floor, an unexpected question filling his mind: How many times had Marinette pulled off heroics like this without anyone noticing? Not just anyone, but him specifically.
When he looked up again, he was surprised to find a blonde, ponytailed girl yelling at Marinette, now standing on wobbly legs. Master Fu recognized her as some girl he had probably seen around on TV before, but her name escaped him. Marinette paid her no mind at first, choosing to pat the dust out of her clothes and examine her scraped knees. The other girl was relentless, however. She grabbed Marinette by the collar, demanding to be looked in the eye. Instead of giving in, Marinette turned her head to look into the crowd stubbornly. Her expression was nothing Fu had ever seen on the girl before either, her face flushed and eyebrows knit in frustration. Despite her attempts at acting indifferent towards this blonde girl, Fu could tell Marinette was on the verge of tears. He looked away the moment their eyes met out of instinct, a mixture of embarrassment at being caught staring and not wanting to get involved. His duty at the moment was to observe after all, not intervene. Regret filled his chest anyway.Ā
When he looked back, Marinette had already given in and was looking at the other girl head on. The blonde finally let go, seemingly satisfied and pointed at the awning for someone else to pick up. Master Fu couldnāt make out what the two girls were saying from this distance, but from the way Marinette had shrunken in on herself, he could tell their dislike of one another went beyond whatever the girl wanted with the awning.Ā
Having had enough, the blonde girl turned on her heel and walked away triumphantly, leaving Marinette with her head ducked down to look at her scraped knees. Guilt wracked Fuās heart. To hell with inaction, he thought firmly, and began to hobble towards the young girl. But Marinette was gone before he had a chance to reach her, running off in the opposite direction from where she had originally been heading. Fu resolved to leave her alone for the day as she sprinted away, but an idea on what heād do next time he found her started to form in his brain.
Marinette had proven herself to be more than just a person capable of heroics. She was resourceful, could think on her feet, and had no issues taking leadership in a situation. There was no better Miraculous for such a formidable young girl than the one he had in mind, but he needed to be certain before taking the leap. He really didnāt have the time to be so picky with the reactivation of the lost Miraculous looming over his head, but he needed to be absolutely certain Marinette hadnāt acted on a whim. There was no room for error.Ā
Not again.Ā
So Fu decided to concoct a small test. In order to determine if Marinette had the makings of a hero, he would need to interact with her directly. Passively observing Paris had proved to be effective but time consuming, and the continued silence of the reactivated Miraculous had Fu growing increasingly anxious. There was no guarantee when another disaster would happen either or even if Marinette would even be present for it, despite her track record. So The Guardian decided it was time to take matters into his own hands.
Master Fu put his plan into motion the very next morning, taking a stroll outside of Marinetteās parentās bakery when he knew sheād be leaving to attend her first class of the day. Despite the morning crowd blocking most of his view, Fu still managed to see Marinette bounding out the front door, a half-eaten croissant in her mouth while she tied her hair into pigtails. Her head was ducked to watch where she was stepping but somehow managed to bump head-first into a lamppost anyway. Laughter burst out from a ways behind Marinette, the source revealing itself to be the same blonde girl from the day before. Research revealed that her name to be Chloe Bourgeois, daughter of the hotel Marinette had taken the awning from⦠Oops. Master Fu sighed deeply, both relieved that everything was going according to plan and dismayed at the presence of an unintended variable. No matter, he decided quickly and let the girls pass in front of him before tailing them both, cane clacking noisily against the sidewalk in his rush after them.Ā
The blonde wasted no time shouldering past Marinette the moment they reached the crosswalk, snickering out an apology as she moved closer to the curb. Marinette said nothing, but stuck her tongue out at Chloeās back as soon as she wasnāt looking. Fu tried to stifle a laugh behind his fist at the childishness, but Marinette froze anyway, face going red at the realization that sheād been caught. āInteraction failed,ā Fu thought bitterly, watching her turn away despite his attempt to reassure her with a kind smile. He hobbled a little closer to her, leaning on his cane heavily to bend over and catch Marinetteās eye again.Ā
Then there was a slip. A fall. And a scream.
Master Fu could think of nothing while he fell, shock coursing through his chest as he struggled to piece together what happened. A harsh sound escaped his throat the moment he hit the floor, but he had no time to contemplate the stinging in his hands and knees. The scream wasnāt his own. Heād bumped someone on his way down, someone who had been standing way too close to the curb.Ā
Chloe. The blond girl was stumbling in the street, bent over to watch the floor as she struggled to regain her balance but toppling over anyway. The look on her face was nothing short of irate when she turned to glare at Fu, but whatever curses sheād been planning to say caught in her throat as she made eye contact with rapidly growing headlights. Fu scrambled to his feet, pain shooting through his knees at the movement. Heād once been a hero. He was used to fighting through injuries. He was used to saving people. But cold dread rose in his chest. He was frozen in place, watching the approaching car just as helplessly as the girl on the floor.Ā
He wasnāt used to being the one putting people in danger.
There was no way he would reach her in time. The thought was too casual in Master Fuās head, treated with the same amount of importance as the way the gravel felt under his hands. He needed to do something. Please, he thought to himself. Please just move.
And something did move.Ā
Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Fu spotted her out of the corner of his eye first, blurring past him as she rushed out into the street to grip Chloe by the back of the arm. A firm tug had Chloe quickly rising onto unsteady feet and into Marinetteās arms as she jerked them both onto the sidewalk seconds before the car sped past them. They nearly tumbled over, but Marinette managed to maintain a steady balance, dipping Chloe in an attempt to get her to stop tripping. Master Fu let out a breath he didnāt know he was holding the moment Marinette looked at him, the same burning intensity in her eyes as the day of the fire.
But Marinette didnāt look at him for long, too preoccupied with the blonde still in her arms. Fu couldnāt hear whatever Marinette said over the ringing in his ears, but the blonde was wide-eyed and flushed, seemingly unresponsive. She quickly regained her composure however, face going even redder as she slipped out of Marinetteās arms. The blonde seemed⦠angry? That wasnāt the right word for it, Fu thought vaguely, watching Chloe slap Marinetteās hand away and poking a shaky finger into her chest. Her face showed anger, and maybe her words did too, butā¦Ā Ā
The blonde was gone before he could place the emotion, choosing to cross the moment the signal indicated it was okay to cross and leaving Marinette looking after her. She sighed, tension visible on her shoulders as she turned around to look at Master Fu. He tensed at her gaze too, preparing himself for whatever emotions had carried over from her conversation with Chloe
āAre you okay?ā
He blinked, unsure of what to say, Marinetteās voice ringing clearly in his ears for the first time since heād known her. Master Fu hadnāt been expecting the soft tone in her voice. It wasnāt coddling, condescending, or cold. In fact, there were no traces of anger or frustration from her interaction with Chloe present on her at all. All she showed was genuine care, eyes looking Fu over for any injuries. He nodded, mind running a mile a minute while he processed everything he had just experienced.
When she spoke again, her tone sounded a little firmer. āIām sure it was an accident, but both of you could have gotten seriously hurt.ā Marinette kneeled down to pick up his cane before extending it out to him and saying, āLetās figure out what went wrong so it never happens again.ā Fu reached out to take the cane back, but she pulled it back before he could wrap his hands around the handle, eyes scanning over the bottom point.
āOh, thereās your issue!ā She exclaimed before reaching into her bag and pulling out a few squares of fabric. āIāve been looking into patchwork lately,ā she explained briefly as she fiddled with the bottom of Fuās cane, untying one of her freshly done pigtails as she did so. āI heard itās really good for getting rid of old scraps, but I always end up buying new fabric anyway and end up with more scraps than when I started. But it looks like it came in handy today,ā she continued without skipping a beat, securing a few pieces of folded fabric to the bottom of the cane with the hair tie. āDone!ā
Fu hummed in confusion, staring at his freshly modified cane as it was handed back to him. The fabric sheād used to frame the outside was a bright red with white cloud-like accents, matching closely to the color of Fuās shirt.Ā
Marinette pressed her head into her palm for a moment. āAck, sorry, I got off topic,ā she apologized, before pointing to the bottom of the cane. āYour cane is smooth wood all the way down. Usually they have a rubber thing at the bottom for some friction, but yours doesnāt. My guess is that you leaned a little too hard on your cane and slipped.āĀ
The explanation sounded exactly right. āThat makes a lot of sense, actually. Thank you, miss.ā He said finally, feeling mortified as he contemplated what sheād said. The cane was just a prop, something he used to make himself look unsuspecting and helpless. In the grand scheme of things, a rubber tip on a prop item was nothing more than a small detail. But its absence could have cost someone their life. Fu grimaced.
āSorry if the color is too flashy.ā Marinette said awkwardly at his expression, waving a hand in front of her face. āBut you need to use it, at least until you can get a replacement. Iām sure rubber would help a lot more than a bunch of fabric anyway.āĀ
Fu shook his head, storing his thoughts away for later, when he could properly reflect on them. āNo, no, the color is perfect. Iāll be happy to use this until I can find a replacement.ā He assured her, lowering the cane to hover a few inches over the floor. āItās just such a shame. Your hair looked lovely, Iām sorry you had to undo it because of my negligence.āĀ
Marinette blushed and quickly undid the remaining pigtail. āOh, that? Nahā¦ā She said, fluffing her hair out with her hands. āI was just trying something new, itās not like I was sold on it or anything.ā At that moment a clock rang out in the distance, marking the start of the new hour. Marinette freezed at the sound, and Master Fu was suddenly reminded that she had class to attend at that exact time. But if she felt anxious over being late to class, she certainly didnāt show it.Ā
āHere,ā Marinette said instead, pulling out a small first aid kit from her bag. āDoes anything hurt right now? That was a pretty nasty fall, Iād hate it if-ā
āMiss?ā Fu said, cutting her off abruptly. Her patience was admirable, as was her readiness to help others, but heād already inconvenienced her enough. If there was one thing he wouldnāt promote, it was needless self-sacrifice. āIāll be okay now. Iāve lived for so many years, I think I can take care of a few scrapes.ā
Marinetteās mouth remained open on an unspoken word briefly before it shifted into a small pout. āYou donāt look that old,ā she said, politely, and Fu would have laughed at how wrong she was if not for their current circumstance. āAnyway thereās no age limit for getting help either-āĀ
āMiss.ā he said again, firmly. āIām sure you have somewhere you need to be. Somewhere other than helping an old man who can take care of himself on the side of the street.ā He placed a hand on the first aid kit and lowered Marinetteās outstretched arm.Ā
Master Fu reflected on these traits as Marinette sprinted away, raising his cane smoothly to rest over his shoulder. There was no better Miraculous for someone like Marinette than the one he had in mind. He was sure of it now. She had passed his test and surpassed him in the process even, rising above and beyond where even he had failed. As Master Fu walked away, he couldnāt help but wonder how he could have ever viewed her as nothing more than an accident-prone young girl. No matter, he thought to himself, glad to have been wrong this one time.Ā
When Marinette arrived home that afternoon, she would be surprised to find a small black box resting on a square of bright red fabric with white, cloud-like accents. Inside the black box lay a pair of ladybug-print earrings, a brand new friend, and her destiny. But she would figure all of that out as soon as she got home. For now, Fu could only laugh imagining what sort of reaction she would have once she opened the box.Ā
ā ā ā
Master Fu wasnāt surprised to find the news reporting on two spandex clad heroes the very next day. Pride swelled in his chest at their swinging forms, and despite the amount of times they fumbled and fell and made mistakes, he knew without a shadow of a doubt that Paris was in good hands.Ā
The Guardian smiled knowingly as the magic that had concealed the hero's identities faded from his mind. It wasnāt needed; he already knew who they were. He fully appreciated the heroās appearances through the screen. One, a blond feline clad in a black suit and cocky smile, whose story is yet to be told; the other small sheer wings, a ladybug-print suit, and familiar-looking pigtails.Ā
Meet Marinette! Despite a lonely childhood, she remains brave, friendly to all, and has no issues stepping up to do the right thing. Having proved herself as someone capable of great acts of heroism, Master Fu bestows her with the miraculous of the Ladybug, transforming her into the miraculous Coccinelle! She is the first person to be presented with a Miraculous, and is lovingly known as The First Hero of Paris.
After receiving the miraculous, Marinette decides to dorm at school to have the freedom to come and go as she pleases. Little did she know that dorm life would also come with even more struggles, like having to juggle roommates, noise complaints, and dorm curfew! Will Marinette ever catch a break?
COCCINELLE
Ability: Creation, allows her to create a ālucky charmā which will aid her in battle. Sheāll have to use her wits to work it properly however!
Skill: Purification/De-evilize, able to capture an akuma and cleanse it and the damage it caused.
Hi all, Mod Cooper here, I thought itād be fun to share a bit of my design process for whenever a character sheet gets posted!
So Marinette, I didnāt change her too drastically I think? I wanted to emphasize herĀ āgirlyā side/fashion student side! Iāve been told I lack style but who took the fashion class in highschoooooool (me I did). So I went something a bit stereotypically French student lol sorry Marinette but I think it came out cute! I wanted pink to be her main color, the softer version of her hero sideās main color but same family. The skirt because while the fact that Marinette actually wears pants is a nice change, I find her interests to be less physically active that it isnāt necessary for her to need Capris ya know? I felt the hat is a bit much but then she looked naked without it so it stayed. And her hair still is in the baby pigtails but I wanted her hair to look shorter and less voluminous.Ā
Coccinelle! Obviously name change because I donāt know Ladybug was always boring to me (obviously as an English speaker Iād think that but hey Iām the designer here), I also like Marinette not being creative with names. She can make some amazing clothing pieces but donāt ask her to name her starter pokemon. ANYWAY THE ACTUAL DESIGN I think we all agree that her canon design is boring as hell. I really just tweaked her season 4 suit because the break up of colors is absolutely needed. Iām a shorts fan so I like the look of shorts. Iām a big superhero fan so Iāve designed a lot of costumes in my spare time so I wanted to add some padding elements to her suit since Young Justice (tv) was a big inspo for me. So she gets elbow and shoulder pads, I introduced red spots on black along with the black spots on red just for some variety. And a lot more solid color parts because I find too much spots an eyesore. The hairrrr, youāll see this trend but I like to change the hair colors from civilian to hero, so Marinette gets her canon blue back but more saturated and with small teal highlights at the end, not like Lukaās but almost like light reflections that no one knows where from. Hair strands on the side of her face remind me of a beetleās pinchers (I donāt think ladybugs have those but just thought it was neat). And her hair ribbons! They curve up like antennae! I always love redesigns that do that.
There will outfits changes of course she IS a fashion student, and I also have an idea to implement some Chinese design elements later on (Iām a big fan of the decision to have her feel disconnected from half of her culture, even though they handled it not greatly. So I didnāt want to ignore this struggle of hers because I find it very relatable, so as time goes on, I want her to connect more with her mom and it will subconsciously show on her hero outfit :ā) with time everyone.).Ā
