That's a canon ship in a kids show that left stuff vague enough so you can headcanon pinkie and aj as distant cousins or Not, keeping shippers everywhere from having crises while also pandering to the "haha they both are from farmer families, must be related" people

Just bc the literal plants of apple and pear trees are related doesn't mean the characters who farm those trees are????

I’m anti-proship, not shipping. There’s nothing wrong with shipping teenage characters, as long as it’s not in a sexualized way. And there are no pairings where characters are related or possibly related, if you’re referring to Brightpear they were never implied to be related.

Also to answer the second ask you sent, Fluttercord is not proship, but it’s perfectly valid to find it uncomfortable and not like it. However Fluttershy is an adult character, and Fluttershy and Discord met when she was an adult. So there isn’t anything wrong with Fluttercord.

I have a question though, should/could Queen Chrysalis x Fluffle Puff be included in the niche ships tournament?

Whether or not it actually gets included is still up in the air, so this is more of a question of would you accept it if it did? I’m trying to only use canon characters as having a fan oc isn’t always fair cause not everyone knows them, but Fluffle Puff is a very well known oc (or at least that’s the impression I’ve gotten).

So, I've been tracking these competitions and the numbers here are fascinating. Like the margins of victory and raw numbers of votes are wild. I don't want to spoil the vote count currently in case it biases anyone's votes, but I thought I'd share the number on these worthy ships previous wins so you can be extra impressed. Round One: SciSet vs. ShiningCadance: Sciset won 70.9%-29.1% out of 268 votes. They got 190, Shining Cadance got 78. They won by 112 Votes. Rarijack vs. Cheesie Pie: Rarijack won 79.7%-20.3% out of 537 votes. They got 428, Cheesie Pie got 109. They won by 319 Votes. They each won pretty decisively, but margins in the triple digits is INSANE. Like they both came out of the gate STRONG, but the Rarijack matchup got double the total votes of SciSet's. Round Two: SciSet vs. Fluttercord: Sciset won 60.3%-39.7% out of 305 votes. They got 184, Fluttercord got 121. They won by 63 Votes. Rarijack vs. StarTrix: Rarijack won 53%-47% out of 628 votes. They got 333, StarTrix got 295. They won by 38 Votes. Again, the Rarijack matchup got double the total votes, but StarTrix is a juggernaut, so the numbers being skyhigh wasn't surprising. StarTrix's first matchup against Appledash netted 660 votes and they won by just 58, but that was still a hefty 359 total. What is surprising is that the margin was so insanely close despite the massive totals. Sciset had less than half the total votes but won by a higher margin against Fluttercord, but that's not totally surprising because Fluttercord barely eked out that win against TwiPie in the first round. They basically trounced all the straight ships but fellow lesbian icons are much harder to win against. Round Three: SciSet vs. RariTwi: Sciset won 57.7%-42.3% out of 515 votes. They got 297, Raritwi got 218. They won by 79 Votes. Rarijack vs. OctaScratch: Rarijack won 61.4%-38.6% out of 329 votes. They got 202, Octascratch got 127. They won by 75 Votes. See the above, with StarTrix but RariTwi fans REALLY drove up the numbers. Like, their previous matchups had the highest vote counts of any ship. In the first round the SunPie matchup earned the highest total of tournament with 773 total votes and won by an astonishing 517 of them. In the next round RariTwi went up against Flutterdash and netted 695, the second highest total vote count. They only won by 73, but that's still 384 votes. SciSet fans turned out the vote, but RariTwi had been an absolute giant up until that match, and it's probably because of them that this was the first match up Sciset had that vastly outperformed voter turn out on the Rarijack poll. Both won by almost 80 votes, but the percentages are vastly different because of the vote totals and SciSet's victory is extra impressive because RariTwi was the ship to beat. Like both of the finalist knocked out ships that completely rocked the early rounds, and it's frankly insane that the competition is turning out this way given the vote break downs. Rarijack only made it past StarTrix by 40 votes. RariTwi generated the highest numbers up until Round Three. The finals are on course to break the 600 vote mark, and I'm so curious to see how it plays out. The EQG crew endorsed power couples are rocking it, regardless.
