The day is getting near! Our monthly Art Walk is coming closer and closer than expected. For the month of July we got something special for you patriotic Americans! Couple of months ago we had an artist (Jayson Ruiz Palacio) gather a bunch of NONAMERS to showcase a fundraising exhibit for a good friend that was burglarized at the time. This time around heās taking this photo exhibit to a whole new experience and approach. Really trying to captivate an experience of a new Photo Art Exhibit vibe. Also one of our BTNCs regulars favorite, Almost Candid (Mickey Aure) was asked to participate for a visual showcase Directed by Jayson Ruiz Palacio. Im gonna keep this short and have you guys rant about your own experience! This ones not to be missed! Come and Support your locals! Show Details is on the flyer.
Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, a collaboration between young Belgian architects Pieterjan GijsĀ and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh, have built a see-through church in the Belgian region of Haspengouw. The church is a part of the Z-OUT project of Z33, house for contemporary art based in Hasselt, Belgium.
The church is 10 meters high and is made of 100 layers and 2000 columns of steel. Depending on the perspective of the viewer, the church is either perceived as a massive building or seems to dissolve ā partly or entirely ā in theĀ landscape. On the other hand, looking at the landscape from within the church, the surrounding countryside is redefined by abstract lines.
The design of the church is based on the architecture of the multitude of churches in the region, but through the use of horizontal plates, the concept of the traditional church is transformed into a transparent object of art.
