“Making Chaos Legible”. My life is many times very chaotic and I like the way the artist represents the chaos. His work is organic, seemingly dark yet beautiful. He uses a lot of black which seems ominous but yet wondrous at the same time.

Art is not activism. It doesn't directly change material reality or political reality, but if enough individuals...

I feel that as artists we always assume we have to create some kind of art piece that will change the world. This idea can be overwhelming and it’s good to realize that you alone are not doing that. Change comes with cohesive ideas from a multitude of people.
1c. Ron Mueck is another artist whose focus is the figure and plays with scale. I am a huge admirer of his work.
1. Carole Feuerman large scale figure sculptures would be amazing to recreate! First I love working with the figure and I love going BIG! They appear so life like. There is something scary yet captivating working on such a grand scale.
This is the official poster for the BFA show I have spent almost 4 years preparing for! When I think back to my first day of school and how far I have come, I can't explain to you the journey it has been and I can't believe I'm close to the finish line! Come and support me and my peers! For all out my out of town friends this show is right off the PATH train and the lite rail! I'm very excited to exhibit brand new works and I feel my best yet! #2018njcubfa #novaaltum #oilpainting #college #art #melinatedmoms #bayonne #artist #latina #latinartist #momartist #boys #jerseycity #njcu #gallery #harborside #digital #new #finearts #sculpture #mom #raisingmen #thestruggleisreal #10 #momoften #momof10 #omgpage #thisishappening

Sherry takes the mundane and makes it interactive and fun. His ideas make you question what art can be and how society reacts to it.
What makes an artwork is not the object or the material itself, but what you can extract out of it.

Being generally a figure painter myself, I would like to recreate this as it would allow a three dimensional study of the body. Not only would the challenge be in focusing on the scale but in the realism of the piece. The details of the body would fascinate me. It reminds me of the old Roman and Greek statues but with a twist as this is much more expressive.
Finished!! I was so inspired by @car_lee714 poem (she's an amazing poet!) that I had to create this piece! My break from painting...I'm not sure how I'm going to frame it but I really like it!
