A Final Farewell

This is long overdue, but well over about 2 years of inactivity, I’ve decided to close down this blog. I personally have not worked with MMD since October of 2015. I lost interest, was to exhausted to spend time helping others, and just tired with the constant asks, submissions, and responsibility of running this blog.

This blog was nothing but problematic from the start. It was dedicated to showcasing ~ relatable ~ content, starting with MMD crashing, going to other people’s bad model edits, going to full on attacks on users. The MMD drama we spoke of was fun, exhilarating at the time. We always wanted to see what would happen next, but no one thought of the lasting effects we would cause. We laughed at the closure of an account, but most of the time it was over something dumb, like we gave some criticism that they didn’t like. It’s an animation program and we harassed people over the dumbest things. I say we, because if you remember this blog, you remember all the shit that happened with it.

I am grateful however, to all the good this blog did. We started MMD Greats, after awhile. I recall opening this blog, because there was no MMD Tumblr community at the time, and seeing how large it is now, how many wonderful blogs there are, is amazing. This blog was an opener to sharing MMD content, and boosted my own popularity as an MMD user. I met so many friends through this blog, so many lovely people. I will forever be grateful for that.

I am so thankful to my wonderful admins/mods, both current and former who helped me when it became too much. I couldn’t have done it without you, and I’m happy to have worked alongside you.

I’m also sorry, to all the people that I played a role in demeaning, harassing, and publicizing. I’m sorry I gave a voice to the people who had nothing but hate to say, and I’m sorry for my own words as well. I’m as guilty as anyone, if not more. I said and did some horrible things. I’m aware my apologies are not enough to the pain I caused you, but I do regret my actions.

I’m sorry to my fellow mod, whom I’ve made this decision without. I’m making this one as the creator of this blog, and someone who wants to sever ties with their old self and make amends. I hope you understand. We talked about reopening this blog again one day, but I think I’d prefer if we left it to die.

I will not be passing on ownership of this blog to anyone. I want to see this blog dead. I will leave this up for a month, and then I will either delete, or password protect this blog. You are free to use the whole idea of this blog for another if you wish, but I hope you do not. I hope that if you know what this blog was, you saw how many issues it caused.

For the other MMD blogs, I encourage you to think about the lasting effects your blog has on people. The ones dedicated to shitty edits, bad photos... All they do is showcase what MMD users don’t want people to think the program is about. All we are doing is harassing 12 year olds who are just having fun. Leave them alone. Let them be. From my experience, don’t get so worked up over nothing.

Don’t get so worked up over rule-breakers either. There will always be illegal edits. Politely inform them of the rules, and move on. 

This sounds very dumb, the entire thing, but I cannot continue living with these ties to a person that I am no longer. I was a hateful, venomous person. I did a lot of horrible things, and I want to at least apologize, and acknowledge that I have learned from all this.

I’d also like to express my condolences to Fukkatsumimori, and her friends. I found out a few weeks back that she had passed several months ago. We never really spoke, but we followed each other and were fans of each other’s work. I’m sorry you had to leave so soon, and sorry that I didn’t speak more with you when I had the chance.

Again, I thank everyone for their support. I wouldn’t have guessed that we’d have 900+ followers, and still occasionally receiving messages even though we’ve been inactive for 2 years. I am sorry for the damage I caused within the community.

ahh, hello! I was wondering if I could ask a question about a problem I’ve been having recently. Whenever I save my MMD video as an .avi file, the video is dramatically slowed down and it makes the motion out of sync with the music (this is not while it’s recording, this problem happens when I watch the end product).

Also, whenever I try and upload it to Youtube, it either comes up with an error message or my video’s quality is reduced by a lot. I always have it set to 60fps, though . .

huh. i actually had this problem myself, but it ended up being because i was trying to render it straight to .avi (no codec) on a low-end computer. does MMD run well on your computer otherwise, and are you trying to render it straight to .avi?

I am trying to download a really good Saitama model but bowlroll won't let me. It says only contributors can view it. What does it mean? The model is of Saitama from One Punch Man and it's really accurate!

I believe it means you have to donate to Bowlroll through your account in order to download it, since there’s a red “donation” button on the right on that page.~dweeby

Hey! Uh, I was wondering. This is open for anyone, admin or not, to answer, but I was wondering. I run MMD through wine on Ubuntu, but it lags horribly, to the point where I can't even use it really. Does anyone know if there's a way to reduce the lag enough to where I can use it??

It’s probably a combination of running it through a secondhand program and your actual graphics card. I don’t use Ubuntu though, so if anyone else has any tips, fire away!

They are either using an older version of GreenerShader or using the one that doesn't support textures at all. So the one they have should work with models that have little to no textures on them. I suggest downloading a newer one from the creator of GS bowlroll. But it could be their version of MMD.

Oh! Yeah, I actually remember having this issue myself but it was years ago, so that’s why I didn’t think of it right away. Anon, if you need help finding the new version of GS, just send another ask!

How do I use GreenerShader? Everytime I apply it, the model turns white or something like that. But I tried GreenerShader with the default Animasa models and it worked. Can you help me?

I’ve never had this issue before. What version of MMD are you using? Do any of our followers have any fixes for anon?

It's just that mp4 uploads faster than avi. Both work just fine. It's all based on preference^^

To the anon with the video problem, try the program handbreak It is a free converter and works very well And there are several good tutorials if you get confused And to the mod, they're probably converting the file so it's easier to upload to youtube

I could swear Youtube took .avi files just fine but I could absolutely be wrong. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to make and upload a proper MMD video.

Whenever I convert an .avi into a mp4 everything turns black and white. It also has some sort of outline. I tried to reconvert multiple times but they all come out the same.

Is there any specific reason you’re trying to convert your .avi to an .mp4 in the first place? I’m pretty sure most, if not all, programs for video editing/websites for uploading videos will work with an .avi file.

Does Hexigreat3D work on Windows 10? I know that people have been having trouble running it on 8.

If people have been having issues running it on 8 I would imagine it would be worse on 10 but I don’t know since I still run 7 and I’ve never even heard of Hexigreat3D. Anyone have an answer?

To that anon down there, Q_Ku's models are illegal. They use alvirts parts from their sakuya for the Belarus model.

Arlvit’s Sakuya is editable though! You’re thinking of RaceQueen Sakuya, which is not. As far as I’m aware, Q_Ku used regular maid Sakuya to make Belarus.

I have a question about MMDai, I tried going to their site to get the software, but its like the site doesn't exist anymore, is there another site that has MMdai besides the one MikuMikuBeat links?

It looks like this is a website you can get it from. If that doesn’t work, isn’t MikuMikuMoving mac compatable?

The more I read the shit on this Yugitalia the more annoyed I get at how dumb this all sounds like I’m having flashbacks to when I was a asshole of an admin and I made fun of people on this blog too.

Honestly you can’t get some people to change. Some just won’t fucking credit. Some just won’t take criticism. You can try all you want to make them change, you can write your rants and involve yourself in something you probably don’t belong in, but at the end of the day some won’t fucking change and you need to leave it at that.

I’ve seen this situation played out more than once. You all are making a huge deal of what sounds like nothing at all. Quit acting like this is the worst thing to ever happen to the MMDC.
