Mike wheeler truly is written like a self insert like they truly give him NOTHING and Finn does his absolute best with it but LITERALLY it is like they write him just as a y/n or nameless video game protagonist playable character like he is not real, he does not feel fleshed out at all, it’s just so odd, to watch this very good actor portraying this character who has literally no depth or realness whatsoever it’s so weird

So true. I was honestly wondering why people thought he became MIKE again in volume 1. I know people disliked him but he felt more flushed out in seasons 1-4 than this season. I was really banking on a Mike pov. It would have been amazing to get more out of him. We still might in vol 3 but waiting till the last episode to focus on him is a diservice to his character.

Byler is definitely endgame. It's just handled improperly. Mike deserved a better character arc.
