Yay!!! Mockingjay is #1 for two weeks!!!

Unfortunately, Star Wars has likely already made way more money than Mockingjay did in two weeks (TFA BROKE TICKET ORDERING WEBSITES. Not just Fandango - fucking ALL of them). I don’t want to be debbie downer about this, but I see no way for MJ2 and Katniss to be able to outperform The Force Awakens when it releases. ESPECIALLY not with the bad rep MJ2 is getting for being too dark (or in some cases, not ‘true enough to the book’. You can thank sites like @entertainmentweekly for both of those pieces of crap conclusions), the lack of promo post-MJ2 release (seriously, it’s like it came out, and LG is like ‘welp, that happened - TIME FOR ALLEGIANT), and the fact that Star Wars has a dedicated fanbase that spans 40 years, a fanbase that salivates and practically shits their pants over anything Star Wars related these days. Star Wars fans are chomping at the bit for this movie. Katniss is gonna hold on until December 17th, but then (barring some big thing like TFA SUCKING completely, which at this point I really don’t think it’s gonna. And even then, it’s gonna perform hella well opening weekend) Star Wars is gonna dethrone it.

Like I said, I don’t want to destroy hope. But I don’t want people thinking MJ2 is gonna do what CF and MJ1 did. It’s just not gonna happen. Not up against the juggernaut that is Star Wars,

Am I the only one that really don't care about how much a movie earns? If the movie is good, that's awesome. If no one wants to see the movie and want to see another thing, that's great too. I really don't care for anything related to Star Wars but I'll be so happy when I see all those empties rooms for MJ2 and I'll be like 'now I can watch my movie in peace' lol
