This season kind of snuck up on me, so I haven't changed much since the last one. Let me know if anything should be updated.

It starts eerily calm.
And he craves revenge, more than anything. It's too late to search for allies, friends- people. Only redemption for himself exists now.
Tango falls, and he feels satiated, however briefly. He goes around, person by person- trusting no one, yet communicating and trading with everyone. As is his job, of course, as an honest Trader Scars' owner.
Skizz is next. He lets him go, even though the bloodlust is there. He lets Joel take it- he's gotten a good fill of his betrayal for now.
("Scar sends his regards.")
A fond farewell, to perhaps the only place he ever called his own- Trader Scars' may be destroyed, but it lives on in him.
Bigb takes so, so many hits. It's so tempting to get him. But he lets it go- he has some cowards hiding up in the tower to deal with.
("He sounds like a wounded wild animal- I feel so bad! Let's put him out of his misery.")
Etho goes down. It's like the apocalypse all over again- this time it's permanent. The villainous behaviour once forced down his throat, now devouring him as he lets it consume all his goodwill.
Bigb falls- it's just as quick as every other death so far. Cleo is trapped- it's so easy, really, to drive the sword through her back as he watches her bleed out. ("Goodbye!")
They fall, fall, fall... and Scar is always there at the sight of the bloodshed.
(Except for the Watcher- he dies, completely away from any place Scar could influence. How odd.)
And then, it's down to two sides. Scar wonders briefly, about how he has worked with both. But he sticks with the side he's on already- after all, switching now would be too much work. There's better numbers on this side anyway.
("Who cares- we all die anyway. It's all nothing.")
Bdubs and Joel fall- all he can do is stare as they do, a small attempt at saving them not going any farther than their attempts at befriending him.
Shooting Impulse off feels good, like killing everyone else did. The bloodlust remains strong.
Pearl helps him damage Scott a hefty amount- and later Gem comes to them, tears in her eyes and blood on her hands. He knows what has happened. She looks renewed, but broken.
He drives the sword through Gem, and then there were two.
Of course, there was never a true alliance to begin with. He's too tired of everyone's half hearted promises to him anyway. Pearl falls- he barely notices, the zombie capturing his attention.
("Pearl- where are you?")
(The Watcher speaks from beyond the veil. "She's dead, Scar. You've won.")
"Well, that can't be right. How did the guy with no friends win?"
He laughs, a bitter one. The zombie is attacking him- he feels himself succumb to it, but the numb feeling is overpowering.
Out of muscle memory, he trudges his way to the beginning of it all. The end of it all. The secret keeper hands him health, like it always does. Does he need it anymore?
("Win Secret Life.")
Well. He's completed his task. Time to move on.
But he sits there, by the Secret Keeper. The sun is bright in the sky, the blood on his hands drying.
It ends, eerily calm.
Defiance. That is the sum of every victory in the life game.
From Grian who swore his life to the very same man he killed to win.
From Scott who did not give into the boogey curse and won to avenge his ally in a game about betrayal.
From Pearl who refused the soulmate that was given to her, refused allies in a game where the rules of the world demand you have one.
From Martyn who chose to win even if it meant sacrificing his honour.
To Scar, appointed villain by the universe, who kept trying to make friends. Who was finally given free rein to form alliances and bonds, only to play every group against each other. Who found an ally willing to die for him in the end, only to turn on her the second there was no one but the two of them left.
Guys guys guys I know we gotta give scar a title or motif thing now that he's a winner and you've all been giving him all these cool ones like Mercury and Pluto but i propose Earth! Like look at him he's a terraformer! Plus if you look at it like this the earth is the only known planet with life. It's the only planet that can "truly see". Scar has won twice. He's won with the Sun by dying and now won by killing the Moon. Two things that WE associate with Earth are , you guessed it, the Sun and Moon. Two things we associate with scar now. The earth who's played each game. The Earth that can see the Sun, the Stars, the Moon, and Mars. It's scared by the humans who call it home. It's where WE know capitalism exists. It's where our own greed hurts us. It's the only known planet with life all alone in an empty galaxy. It's a winner standing alone amongst every other planet in our solar system that has no known life. It's the planet that stands far and yet so close to the Sun so that it may give it life and the planet with only one moon in it's night sky. Scar in the end is earth. Plus if grian is the sun then the fourth planet from the sun is earth and since 3rd life there has been four new games...
I hope this makes sense I'm going to explain it better later for sure
this is gonna live rent free in my brain forever btw
listen listen listen. If Grian's the sun, Scott's the stars, Pearl's the moon, and Martyn is mars, then Scar is the earth. He literally won covered in flowers. He makes things grow everywhere. He brings landscapes to life. He was alone, but he still loved people. He is literally the earth. he's beautiful and he's human. he's the earth
Scar feels numb when he hits the succeed button.
He stands alone before the Secret Keeper, staring up at it’s blank face with an equally blank expression. The shock is still in effect, his brain still attempting to process it all.
He’s alive.
But no one else is.
He stands at the monument of the server, the center point of everything. The wind blows, and it feels wrong. He gains five more hearts. A new book appears before him. There is no one to cheer as he hits the succeed button. There is no one to yell ‘fail’ in his ears for someone else.
It’s just Scar, and his task, and a graveyard littered with holes. Pearl’s voice is still ringing in his ears, the way she sounded up until she died.
“How did the guy with no friends win?”
He doesn’t know. The Secret Keeper made him the villain of the server, he had no friends, no matter how hard he tried. His tasks always got in the way of it. Maybe it was easier that way, not having any true alliances. He knows first hand what it does to someone when they have to kill a partner to win.
Scar is alone now, truly alone. He turns around, keeping his back to the Secret Keeper as his eyes survey the spawn before him. It doesn’t sit right, the lack of people gathered around. Sure, their numbers had dwindled a bit during the last few sessions, but it wasn’t by much. The group got smaller, and now it’s just him. Just Scar, the villain.
A laugh bubbles out of his lips, and suddenly Scar can’t hold it in. His task falls out of his hands, hitting the ground and his arms wrap around his stomach as he doubles over with laughter.
“This is— this is one heck of a funny joke guys!” He’s laughing so much it’s hard to breathe. “I wasn’t even trying to win!” That’s what he had told Pearl. He didn’t think he’d survive this long. That’s only happened one other time and…. Well.
His laughter dances on the air, filling the space of nothingness. If he pretends, he can hear the others laughing with him, alongside him.
“You did all that to make me the bad guy. You kept me from making any friends!” A hand covers his face, holding it as his laughter shakes his body. “You guys made me the villain of the server and somehow I’m the last one standing!”
It’s so ridiculous. Maybe there’s some kind of irony in there, Scar can’t be bothered to look.
“How did the guy with no friends win?”
He doesn’t know, but it’s kind of funny. Scar stands alone at the end of the world, with nothing but the things in his inventory and a server full of craters. The big statue behind him stares down at him, but he doesn’t care about its gaze. He continues to laugh, because if he stops, he fears what’ll happen.
“No one thought this would happen, everyone doubted me.” Scar was with them. He didn’t think it’d happen either. Him? Scar? Winning a Life Game? Three hours ago he wouldn’t have believed it. “But what do ya know! Villains can win too, sometimes!”
He’s not sure if he can call this a win. He’s alone on an empty server, with no one around. Scar thought he knew what loneliness was, a cold mountain with deepslate walls and wooden ceilings. But this? This is real loneliness. There isn’t another person around for miles. Every base is destroyed and empty, carnage left behind.
There is nothing here for him.
Scar’s laughter slows to a stop. His stomach hurts. So does his face. He straightens, standing tall as he takes a deep breath. He looks down at his task on the ground.
Win Secret Life.
“Is this what it’s like?” He addresses his question to the sky. There is no one to answer him, but he knows his question will be seen. Scar looks back to the server.
It doesn’t feel much like a win at all.
best acceptance speech of all time, methinks. truly, one of the brightest minds in hermitcraft.
Scar really shouted “Grian, I’m the light of your life, you get back here mister!” With his whole entire scussy. Why are they so married
the timing of that reply was amazing LMAO
Saw someone describe Scar’s luck as being “installed upside-down” in that he could survive falling from a plane with no parachute no problem but dies 50 times on his way to the supermarket, and honestly yeah I think that’s the best descriptor.
