What 2016 has taught me:
1. Things donât and will never stay the same, we need to be accepting of changes and change with them because if we donât we will get left behind.
2.Self-love - is so so important, you canât love another person if you canât love and respect yourself.
3. Not everyone is going to understand you and thatâs fine, as long as you know yourself and know what you stand for youâll be okay.
4. Some days you feel completely alone, but you never really are.
5. Life is incredibly harsh sometimes, you go through things that you know you donât deserve but the thing is, when youâre knee deep in hurt and pain you canât see anything else besides what you are feeling but once you come out on the other side you understand why it needed to happen. You hurt, you grow and youâre one step closer to figuring out who you are. Pain is necessary.
6. Donât take life so seriously. We need to be able to laugh at ourselves, we mess up sometimes, weâre only human but always, always try again and again. However In the process of failing and trying we change as people, we always are, every situation changes us and maybe down the line you realize that its not what you want anymore and thatâs okay, it doesn't mean youâve given up but you just see things from a different perspective, with fresh eyes and a new mind set.
7. Never try and change yourself for anyone else besides yourself. I know a guy, he stopped smoking because of the woman he was with didn't like smoking. Five years later they called a quits, the day she walked out he bought a pack of cigarettes. Â When you change who you are for someone else you become what that person sees you as and you lose yourself in this made up version that kind of looks like you but you donât recognize them. Be you, do what you love and when you feel that YOU need to make a change in your life do it for YOU and no one else.
8. Not knowing whatâs going to happen next, is the best stage of your life, cherish it. Now i know what youâre thinking. Not knowing is a horrible feeling, you have no idea what youâre doing with your life, weather itâs after high school or after you graduate, youâve just been fired, you just moved to another country away your parents. We like to be in control of everything, needing to know whats going to happen next but look at it this way, you have no idea whats coming your way but there are endless, endless possibilities. Life is exciting, itâs like a really, really complicated, dramatic novel and youâre the main character. You have no idea whatâs on the next page that it scares you but it excites you just as much and that feeling, when you donât know if youâre scared or excited, you should feel like that everyday. Trying new things, pushing past your comfort zone, discovering new things about yourself, you should feel that way everyday.
