This is the first post I've written since I had my serious fracture and dislocation of my right ankle on the 17th Nov 2014. The usual Monday night football; as I tried to tackle an opponent my foot got stuck in the ground, a slight slip and as my momentum took me forward, I heard a bone crack As the surgeon said to me later that evening, it was a bad break. I was in surgery that evening to fix the dislocation and surgery the next day for the break I had a shattered the joint which is supported by Tibia and Fibia. This resulted in a pin and plate being inserted to hold the fracture together and enable it to heal I wasn't able to put any pressure on the ankle so I spent Nov, Dec and first 2 weeks in Jan with my leg on cushions After my second visit to the surgeon in the 14th Jan, Im now able to begin rehabilitation with a physiotherapist. Im due to go back to the hospital for final surgery in 4 weeks time, to remove the pin supporting the ankle. Not having suffered any serious injuries throughout my sporting career, this has been a tough injury to deal with mentally, but Im confident a full recovery to get back to the football fields and tennis courts
