Through out this unit I have learned that if justice is not served then peace will not occur. Justice and peace are both a must in order for this world do progress and persevere. If justice is not served then violence, corruption, and crime would spread. Fights and wars would break out leaving a trial of destruction behind them. Justice is the key to harmony, peace and serenity in this world. If we wish to live in such an atmosphere then we must fight for justice. Peace can never be achieved if there is discrimination, segregation, or oppression. That is why Justice must be applied. If We are able to end all sort of discrimination and oppression and apply equality, freedom, liberty and justice then peace will be achieved. Then we are able to live in a world where peace exists.

I totally agree with Asim's point of view on justice. Because peace can never be achieved if justice isn't served. If justice isn't served chaos, violence and corruption will rise. Thus there will be no peace and no peace means hunger, oppression, and death. Crime would become second nature, fights would break out and result in the death of the innocent. I agree with Asim's belief that justice is the key to peace and harmony in our world and without it this world would be on great blazing fire. Justice must achieved and the abuser must be punished for his actions in-order for peace to take place.

Opinion on Social Media Week 7

At first I honestly thought social media was a waste of time. I thought that it was this useless, meaningless, and time killing tool. But after taking part in this tumbler project my view on social media rotated 360 degrees. I realized how useful it can become if you use it in the right and correct way. Previously I used to think that social media was just something where firms can advertise and teens can kill time on. But after this Tumbler assignment I was able to learn how to communicate with others and how to actually learn through the internet.

What I would like to say to all those ignorant, insecure, and naive people who say other wise. Is that social media is a tool with two sharp ends, you ether use this tool to persevere and progress or you can use this tool on yourself and wreck yourself. True social media can be this not so private atmosphere, but why make it one? Why would you post extremely private posts if you don't want anyone to see them. Also social media can be a ground where some cyber bullying could be preformed. Cyber bullying is bound to happen when you connect with billions of people around the world with minor differences. But why should you care about this one despicable persons opinion who barely knows anything about you. Instead use social media wisely but have fun well doing so. Use it to get to understand this complex world a little better. Use it to keep in touch with loved ones all over the world. Use it to connect with the world and know what is happening around you. Use it to learn new and beneficial things. Use it to prepare for the outside world; a world where it is a must to know how to interact and socialize with people. A world where respecting a persons opinion is a must. Let these social media sites be a training ground for the tough and competitive future.

Do you like tumblr? Why/why not? Do you prefer a different social media website? What website could also be used to do this type of school assignment?

At first I was a little pessimistic while using tumbler, but as weeks passed it got to become second nature. It started to become fun and joyful. Tumbler is very cool, new, and a user-friendly site but with a couple features that are some-what confusing. For example it allows you to post many different mediums such as videos, audio, links, and texts; sometimes I get lost in it but usually I find my way back. I cant think of any other social media site that would be able to do the same exact functions tumbler offers. For example rarely do social media sites allow you to post such a divers variety of mediums as tumbler does, but also not many have the privacy and security tumbler has. I strongly believe that no other social site could be able to compete with tumbler in such school projects, that require you to post different mediums. But other social sites that could be used to some extent are Edmodo, Google plus, and Facebook. Since you are able to post, share, and follow people such as tumbler.

Was this tumblr assignment good, or would you have preferred writing your responses in a journal in class time? Why/why not?

For me I strongly support the idea of using technology and new methods for learning and teaching. That is why I consider this tumbler project to have a successful and favorable result. I would prefer using tumbler anytime over a pen and paper. For greater benefits could be achieved through such a medium. Because it creates a more friendly and fun atmosphere in a class environment. Which gets students pumped and excited about learning and school work. Which allows students to understand and preform in a higher rate.

What changes would you make to this assignment for next time?

This assignment has contained many different concepts such as visual, written, and lessening concepts. If I could make a change to anything I would add little more visuals, so the assignment would become a little more fun and adventures. For I believe that using divers methods in teaching would allow students to have a greater capability of learning. Thus they are able to reach greater achievements.

I really like this quote for many reasons. First because its a quote where a fed up African American takes a firm and strong stand to fight injustice, and stand up for his rights. Second of all I like this quote because he makes a very important point, which is that people treat you the way you allow them to treat you. That is why he refuses to accept inequality, discrimination and segregation. And demands to be treated in the proper and right way or he will mistreat them back. Finally one of the most important reasons I like this quote is because it states an unchangeable truth; which is that all people are equal and that there is no difference between a white man and a colored man. This shows us that we should not accept anything less then justice, equality, and our rights. And that all humans are equal despite the different color of their skin.

Adding music to a certain scene In a play would help create an audience with better and stronger emotions. Making a scene more tense in a tense situation, happier in a happy situation and making them feel sad and sorry in a not so pleasant situation. This music would be a great and appropriate choice of music for the very dramatic and tense scene where Bernice runs down the stars screaming, shouting, and panicking after seeing Sutter's ghost. It would also continue to be great help to when Boy Willie and Lymon rush upstairs and search for this Ghost. In my opinion it could even be very tensions when Bernice explains what she saw. This music would fit perfectly in this situation because as we move on it becomes more and more tense and stressful and so does the music. Creating an even more stressful and tense atmosphere.

Moath: What do you think you have learnt about justice this year? Has your opinion changed at all?

Abdullah: As I know justice is having equal rights to everyone and have fairness around our society, my opinion didn't change because I already know what justice means.

Moath: What do you think your reputation is like right now at school? At home? With family and friends?

Abdullah: Well I think my reputation at my school is being stupid and dump but at home I'm smart and useful. Between my family I am a person who will have a good future to support his family.

Moath: Have your ideas about reputation changed at all? Why/why not?

Abdullah: My reputation is getting better and worse on both sides because everyone has a big impact in his life which makes his reputation more better or more worse

Moath: As a grade 10 student, what do you think you should be responsible for? Just yourself and your grades, or other things to like your happiness and looking after younger sisters and brothers? Explain your answers.

Abdullah: I would be responsible on my studying and maintaining discipline while in school. I would be responsible to teach my small brother what is wrong or right too

Moath: How would you explain yourself in THREE words? Why?

Abdullah: Three words that describe me is overweight understanding and energetic. I am over weight because I believe I can be skinnier, I am understanding because I am willing to listen and help if I can, because I don't fall asleep in math class and first period.

A joint UNHCR-WFP report warned that funding difficulties, compounded by security and logistical problems in some countries, have forced cuts in food rations for nearly 800,000 refugees in Africa.

For the past couple of years millions of refugees in Africa have been depending on UN, WFP, and UNHCR aid to be able to stay alive. But for the last few months they have been suffering due to fund shortage. Where supplies and food aid has been cut by almost 50% and sometimes reaching 60% in certain places such as Chad. With people having barely any meat left on there bones they have started to become extremely fragile and vulnerable. From adults to kids to infinites all struggling to stay alive in places all over Africa, From Sudan, to Chad, to Kenya, to Ethiopia, to many other African nations who are struggling. People living in these remote camps have found there selves in a critical situation where they do the imposable to stay alive. From early drop outs, to early mirage, to theft, to domestic violence and some times "survival sex". All of which is done so these people can be able to buy some food. This situation is not only injustice to one person or two but it is injustices to a whole nation. Where they are put in a break point situation. Forced to do the imposable to stay alive. Where just not far away the food waste thrown away by one family every night is capable of feeding a whole family for a week. Also other countries who spend trillions of dollars on supposedly defiance weaponry who are blinded to the condition of the people in Africa. Justice must be served fast enough before it is too late and too many souls are lost. They are human the same way we are. They deserve to live, eat and drink the same way we do. Freedom, equality, and justice for Africa. ^_^

Different Mediums

These days it has become very often that books, novels, and play scripts have been turned into different written mediums and movies. For example The Piano Lesson could be turned into a movie, novel, short story, narrative, and many other written and visual mediums. First if it is written as a novel it will show more detail and would explain the events in a better view than a play. Some times during the course of the play watchers or readers might not see an event as clear as they would in a novel. Because a play is written specifically to be performed on stage by actors, whereas a novel is written for individuals to read privately to themselves. Another difference is that in a novel, things have to be described but in a play they are seen. True in a play people can actually see the object but in a novel a person knows its characteristics from the top tell the bottom and is able to visualize it himself. In a play emotions can be expressed through background music or facial expressions or even the tone of voice of the actors, but in a novel it is described. Novels are a great medium for learning and modifying many new literacy elements, concepts and techniques.

Some people recommend reading the book or the script of the play first then watching the movie or the play its self. Which is a very good idea. Because in a book, novel, or other written mediums there is more detail and information that is left out or disregarded in a movie or play. Also because who would actually go read a book after watching the movie or a play for he/she already knows what's happening and what's going to happen. Which is a cause many people are against books being turned into movies, because the number of people who actually read books have started to fade away. Meaning the literacy benefits a reader gains are lost or damaged. But the good thing about watching a visual medium or movie is that it brings the characters and events to life. Which makes it much more interesting and understandable. Another great priority visual mediums have on written ones is that it kills the boredom of it. Many young people hate reading because its boring and doesn't contain any interesting aspects. In a movie or a play a watcher is able to stay in connection with a certain character from the beginning to the end, but in a book the reader might be introduced to a character on page 8 then loose him tell page 189 and then loose him again tell the end of the book. But in my opinion it is a vise versa where when turning books into movies, plays into novels, novels into plays or movies, good things and bad things will result. Visuals have there pros and cons, and so do written texts.

For me I personally have read many books that have been turned into movies. For example: The Hunger Games and Narnia (well the fist half of the 3rd book) but the last one that I have read and has been turned into a movie is The Giver. The Giver was a great and interesting story with many life lessons. What I have realized in all these cases is that the movie somewhat cares the author's message but in a more interesting and interactive way. Another thing I have realized is that the movie cuts out many details in the book. But the movie is able to create this engaging atmosphere that gets viewers attached. As I said before its I vise versa, everything has its pros and cons.

My view of justice is that everybody is treated equally with no descrimination no matter the age, gender, or skin color. But in the book, injustice is taking over. We can see that blacks are treated badly. And their rights are taken away from them. In the picture above where the black boy is hand-cuffed demonstrates what’s occuring in the story, that blacks are not given any kind of freedom and that they are suffering to live.

I agree with Mohammad's view on Justice, because if there was no equality then there is no point of justice. If justice didn't serve equality then discrimination and segregation would take over. Differentiating between races, genders, and minor differences between people. Which is the case in The Piano Lesson. Where people of different color are treated differently and are abused. Limiting and restricting there birth rights, leaving them to live in misery and despair.

This quote shows a time that justice is not being achieved. Because if justice was achieved then so will equality, peace, freedom and honesty. Which then would not require a poor African American girl to worry and be frightened while walking down a street because of her color. When justice is served discrimination and segregation would not be tolerated in front of the law. People who would cause such reassume would be taken to court. But unfortunately when the law is biased and is based on injustice. Life for these minorities becomes tough and hard. Where they are required to be constantly afraid and looking over their shoulder. With the fear of being lynched, kidnaped, killed, and abused constantly hitting them in the back of there head. Reminding them who they really are and the inescapable truth of what there skin color is.

This photo represents my opinion in justice because as shown in the photo it is placed over the "enter" key. Which symbolizes that justices has to be entered and embraced in this world. In this photo the keyboard is not for any normal computer but for the computer of the world. So like any other normal person I use the "enter" key pretty often and that is the point. The photo symbolizes that justices should always be entered in every aspect of life. In studying, working, buying, eating, and many other life aspects. If there where no "enter" key on computers there would be no point to them and users would face difficulties. The same goes for life if there was no justices and equality imposed then this world would be corrupt and ugly. As we can see in The Piano Lesson, life for the characters isn't that easy where they face some difficulties because not enough justices exists. Which causes life to be hard and though on some type of people. Where they are accused of things they haven't done, hatred and suspicion is drawn towards them just because of how they look. For example in The Piano Lesson many blacks face financial problems, social problems and problems with the law due to there color, but why is that? Well it is caused due to the lack of equality, freedom, and justice. Which causes fear, corruption, and anger. To be able to avoid such things, Justice should be imposed and served to every person who is oppresses and tyrannized.

If I was casting the movie The Piano Lesson my choice of actors would be Will Smith, James Earl Jones, and Eddy Morphy. Where Will Smith would be playing the role of Boy Willie, James Earl Jones would play the role of Doaker, and Eddy Morphy would play the role of Lymon. The reason I picked this set of actors is because they have very a very similar personalities and characteristics.

Boy Willie:

The reason I picked Will Smith to play the role of Boy Willie is because he is capable of being hilarious, firm and strong at the same time. But still be unreliable where his actions are questioned and doubtful. Another similarity between these two people is that they are both hard workers and try there best to reach there goal. They also don't allow anyone to stop them from reaching their goal.

For example these characters want to do what is in their mind and wont allow anyone to stop them. Will Smith was able to become one of the worlds top actress because he didn't allow anyone to tell him he was other wise. Boy Willie expresses this treat continuously through out the play. First when he insisted to wake his sister in the middle of the night and when he insisted on selling the piano.

Doaker:

The reason I picked James Earl Jones to play the wise role of Doaker is because they both share the since of caring and responsibility. Another thing these two personalities have in common is that people around them look up to them and respect them and consider them to be more like a father.

James is considered a legend between his pears and people consider him one of the greatest actors who ever lived. Similarly Doaker is a person who his companions look back to for advise and support.

Lymon:

I picked Eddy Morphy to play the role of Lymon because they have similar way of thinking. For example they both are mysterious and have a since of criminal in them. But still have the fell of loyalty and friendship.

Eddy is has a great since of humor but also has a sine of loyalty in him. He tries his best to support his friends and colleges in-order for the outcome to be perfect. Similarly Lymon is the shadow of Boy Willie supporting him and helping him so he can reach his goal of buying a piece of land.

I agree with the artiest of this song because it brings to the worlds attention to many true facts. First that we live in a world that consists of many different people who have different color, culture, race, and religion. But many people are narrow minded due to small personal differences. Causing hatred, greed, and selfishness. Then the artist urge us to not allow simple religious, racial or personal deference's cause these terrible things. I support the artist opinion in this matter. Because all the injustice, violence and corruption in the world today is caused by these narrow minded people who allow such deference's to ignite a fire of hatred.

Also as the artists suggested no money or wealth could end corruption due to injustice. And that indeed the world we live in today is no free world. With injustice smudged allover it. No one should be blamed for the actions of another. But one day justice shall come, and something will be done. Then we will live life as it is and peace shall come.

I believe that everyone is equal regardless to race, sex, or age. We were all born the same and thus we must be treated the same. A human being is entitled to justice and equality. Anything less is injustice. And so, justice cannot be treated lightly. It is a matter of respect. We are all responsible for someone or something. And it is our duty as human beings to provide justice to them. And anything less, any slacking, and any neglecting is simply unfair. It is injustice.

I agree with Hisham's explanation of this quote because he stated many true phrases. Such as every human is entitled to justice and equality, and that anything less is injustice. Which shows that every person has the right to demand justice. Another very true and realistic phrase is that justice is not something that should be treated lightly. which shows its greatness and huge importance. For it is the key to a better, cleaner, safer, and kinder world. That is why there should be no slaking of delivering justice to every person who is entitled to it. For it is ever persons duty to do so. Since justice is a right that is born with every human, delaying it would be like preventing some one from what is rightfully theirs which is injustice.

1- Affected the World of Advertisement

Since social networking gives people the ability to connect with billions of people around the world business owners have used this as a business opportunity. Where they simply place adds on a side of a web site instead of a side of a street. Due to the huge number of businesses who have resorted to this method, most social media sites gain money through advertising. Advertising allows viewers to get know new things that are happening around the world. True sometimes ads can be dump but in many cases they carry a meaning. Sometimes ads can help spread awareness for a specific topic and gain support for a new event.

2- Finding Jobs

Social networking has effected business life dramatically. Where Social networking is taking over the world of advertising. That even job offerings and recruitment's have been handed over to social networking. Where social networking has become critical for things like finding a job. It has simplified and facilitated the process of finding a job. Instead of going from door to door searching for a job like in the past. A person could just search his desired job on dubizzel or craigslist and if it is available he could send an email with his CV.

3- Affected the sending of invitations

Another great benefit of social networking is that it makes it very easy to get news our an idea out there. For example when organizing events a person has to invite people. In the past one of the biggest challenges that you would have was getting all of the information to people. Where to come, when to come, and why to come. But nowadays you can simply use the social media sites and in a couple of seconds all who are invited have been informed.
