TIPS TO KICK START YOUR FASHION CAREER
Have high hopes of becoming a fashion or fashion photography model? Unsure about how to achieve it? Struggling with competition and gaining contacts? These are common problems that people in the fashion industry face, especially at the start of their careers. Some models may take years to gain traction in the industry while others may never make it. It is highly unpredictable, but here are some basic things that can get you started on your way to recognition.
1. Take good care of your body
Despite the many controversies and the new changes levels of acceptance about body types and beauty, fashion remains a fairly competitive and rigid field. There are still numerous restrictions in height, weight and body types for employment. A number of these may be genetically dependent which lies beyond your control, so it helps to take care in the places you can. Pay extra attention to skin and hair, to hygiene and glow. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and drink a good amount of water. A few consistent steps can go a long way towards improving your natural looks. Most importantly, be incredibly confident about yourself. A major part of your external impression depends on how you feel about yourself on the inside.
2. Practice good posture and waking
A major part of your modelling career will focus on your posture and the way that you walk and hold yourself. The way you hold yourself can go a long way towards improving your appearance. A number of agencies are instantly attracted to models who show confidence and style. Irrespective of how nervous you feel, always put on a smile, keep your chin up, and strut with confidence.
3. Research modelling agencies
Every model needs an agency to guide and back them. Like every other industry, the fashion industry has its own share of fraudulent parties playing the game. Don’t get disheartened by this, simply make sure you put in a good amount of research before approaching an agency. There is a good chance that you will start out with the smaller, less visible ones. Over the years, as your work spreads out and gets more attention, you will automatically gain the attention of the bigger ones. Most models have a few dream agencies they approach right away, but don’t feel hurt or rejected if they don’t accept you immediately. The fashion industry is one of patience and perseverance.
4. Have an amazing portfolio
The first thing most modelling agencies will look at is your previous work and your portfolio. Make sure you have a set of incredible photographs, in a variety of types, before you begin applying and approaching agencies. A lot of your job depends on how good you look in photos and how you hold yourself in photoshoots. In recent times, it is also a good idea to have an online modelling portfolio with your best works. Remember to update it regularly, give important information about yourself, and market yourself to the best of your abilities. You may even gain clients without the help of an agency if your portfolio gains massive attention. This also includes having a good social media presence. A number of models gather most of their following from their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. It is always a good idea to make sure your profiles are active and well-made so that potential clients can also approach you through those channels.
5. Be professional. Always
The modelling industry is one that has intense competition. You must be on your toes constantly so that you do not miss any opportunities. Remember that you are never too good or too well-established to answer calls and e-mails as soon as possible. Make sure you sound respectful, interested, and excited. Do not ever show disdain or dislike in any of your communications. Don’t fail to show up for meetings, and never let your hair down until all your work has been done and dusted. Since reputation is a big deal in this industry, it helps if you guard yours with great care. There are a ton of models out there, and most clients and agencies won’t look twice before dropping an unprofessional one for another.
With all these basics in mind, get going! Let your modelling dreams take shape and don’t forget to let us know If these were helpful!

Follow this simple process to create effective, appealing apparel product photos with live models
Step 1 :- Pick a model
There are three basic factors to consider when choosing a model: 1. The extent to which you feel comfortable working with him or her, 2. Whether or not the model will be available to you long term, and 3. how your apparel looks on the model. It’s very important to select one model or several models that you feel comfortable working with; the less you have to fumble around establishing a good flow of communication between you and your model(s), the more efficient and productive your photoshoots will be.
Step 2: Setup your space
The space you should allot for the shoot depends on the situation. Your model should have enough space to be able to move freely to follow your cues. However, it’s also a good idea not to stumble on the side of having too large a shooting area. Designating specific backdrop boundaries will not only help your model stay in the frame, but it will also help you know exactly where to aim the camera.
Make sure that you have the proper equipment and space needed to achieve high-quality images. Some examples of necessary equipment: a white backdrop such as a sheet or seamless rolled paper, a tripod to mount your camera, and 1-3 continuous softbox ensembles or 1-3 external speedlight and umbrella ensembles.
Step 3: Create Just the Right Light
As mentioned earlier, renting or buying proper lighting equipment is another critical requirement to creating effective product images. The most common setups consist of 3 continuous softbox lights or 3 external speedlight and umbrellas.
When considering your photography lighting setup, remember that your goal should be to find a way to mimic the softness of natural window light; softboxes do this automatically, but even with umbrellas, speedlights can sometimes be too harsh and direct.
If that’s the case, simply angle your speedlights off to either side of the model so that the light bounces off of nearby walls. Don’t be afraid to experiment—only experiment before the photoshoot to maximize your efficiency when the model arrives.
Step 4: Position Your Model
Once your lighting and backdrop setup is finalized and your model arrives for the photoshoot, it’s up to you to explain your vision to the model and effectively position the model in that prepared space to achieve your vision. The easiest way to ensure that your model is standing right where you need him or her to be is to place an “X” on the floor directly in line with your camera, either beneath the model’s feet so that he or she knows where to stand or closer to the camera so that he or she can “line up” with it. Whichever you choose, the “X” establishes a “target” for your model to position them in relation to, ensuring that you don’t have to make a lot of adjustments to keep the model right where you need them to be in your frame.
Step 5: Shoot with Wide Framing
Because there is a large amount of variation in the web standards for crop and sizing, it is a good idea to shoot your product photos with “wide framing.” This simply means that you should leave ample space on all sides of the model to ensure that you’re able to crop the image down to comply with web requirements. It’s better to have too much space, which can be fixed with a bit of cropping, than too little space, which might render an image unusable. Likewise, always keep your model’s arms and legs in the frame.
While some companies and brands do include the faces and expressions of their models in their product images, many crop out those identifying features to minimize distraction from the apparel in question. Cropping models’ faces is a great option if you’re just starting out because it can potentially save a good deal of time and money.

Use natural sound to bring your visuals to life.
Most corporate video productions consist of several main audio elements: voiceover (narration or on-camera), music, SFX, and natural sound. Natural sound is often the most overlooked of the four. You will find a lot of time and preparation being spent on placing a microphone. What microphone should you use? Where will you place it? Do you have the right batteries? Do you have backup batteries? But rarely will you find a crew giving this much time to capturing natural sound.
You may not notice it, but atmosphere plays a vital role in a good corporate video. Whether it’s a documentary or narrative, watching a scene where you can clearly hear what’s going on in the environment helps bring the visuals to life and makes you feel like you’re inside the story with the characters. When mixed properly with SFX, music, and narration, natural sound serves as a powerful filmmaking tool.
Even if you have a wild mic recording while you’re shooting, go back and devote time to recording natural sound.
With a few simple steps, you can capture great natural sound during your next production. Here are four tips & tricks for capturing natural sound:
1. Use a wild mic
The wild mic often refers to an internal microphone on your camera, or some other secondary microphone recording atmosphere. The wild mic often serves as a backup microphone. For instance, if a wireless lavalier mic drops out or a battery dies during an interview, you can use audio from your wild mic to save your final mix. Since most people use the wild mic as a backup to their primary mic, it is usually set to automatic gain and just left alone. A wild mic is great when you’re shooting solo in a run-and-gun situation as well, even when you can’t manually ride audio levels. Just slap a directional mic on top of the camera, set it to auto, and shoot.
2. Record room tone for interviews
It’s good practice to record room tone both before and after an interview. Various sounds can crop up during an interview, whether it’s a loud air conditioning unit or a lawn cutter buzzing around in the distance. The common method is to record 60 seconds of room tone with all of the microphones, both your lavaliers and your boom microphones. Capturing room tone will help you not only capture the ambient sounds, but also allow you to capture a noise print during post and mix out unwanted background sounds.
3. Allow time to capture natural sound
While shooting b-roll, pay attention to your visuals. While conducting interviews, listen for possible sound bytes. Think about the corresponding sounds that could work well with your images and sound bytes. Even if you have a wild microphone recording while you’re shooting, go back and devote time to recording natural sound. In a perfect world, use a sound engineer who can go out and spend time capturing natural sound elements to use in your final edit.
4. Create a natural sound audio track
During the post-production process, label one or two of your audio tracks Natural Sound. Spend time layering and mixing in ambiance and natural sound elements. While this will lengthen your editing time, adding natural sound will bring your production to the next level. Much like a good edit should go unnoticed, the natural sound should weave in seamlessly. Viewers may not notice it, but the natural sound will help to bring them into the world of your story.
Have any sound tips to add? We’d love to hear them in the comments.
We are from corporate film makers if you need such services then let us know.
The eras of commercial advertisements are dead. The current spectator’s consideration no longer responds effectually to ordinary formula of advertising. Presenting a product and its amount tag does slight if nothing to link the requirements of audiences to your corporation. It must be understood that your business is marketing a brand that refer to what you stand for and in Corporate may results as a mutual bond between corporation brand image and client communication. Ideas of native promotion have unlocked markets to generating what is known as the “Brand Film” and takes on numerous forms from documented style interviews to entertaining stories that can rival their cinematic equivalents. Here are some thoughts to make a short film for your brand that attaches with audiences on a much more influential level.
Declare Your Objectives – Every corporation has an aim for present which exceeds profit. Your corporation might be marketing a valuable product but there is a lifestyle expectation that they are more trying to attain. Your customers should know what principles their business stands for and how they mean to better the lives of their clients with their goods or services. Let this business mission declaration be the inspiring factor in how you want to convey the story. In advance you introduce the product itself let the commencement of the movie declare what the business is there to do. Be reliable and persistent about this. If you create a related movie for a dissimilar product for the same business then this message should be similar to preceding movies used by the same business. When making a brand film for a not-for-profit, the message is very strong as it describes itself with trying to assistance a cause. Business messages should be quite alike. Your corporation stands to support the world in some way and means to result in profit from that alteration. Leading the audiovisual with these objectives and repeat them throughout the audiovisual to look as robust and concentrated on these objectives as possible. Your product film will be a form of storytelling for in what way your business sees the world and how it optimisms to change the difficulties it sees, even if it is further than reasonable. Storytelling is a way of thoughts at work so take benefit of it.
Describe your Appealing – Great movie directors are recognized as auteurs but no one gets this label till they have advanced a specific appealing look that is their artistic autograph. Your promotions should have the similar tactic. Customers and their audiovisual production firms should work faithfully together to describe the graphic aspects of the corporation. The combination of a company visual takes in step the business logo and fonts along with the advertise they fix maximum of their commercial with and occasionally the source of their business. Radio Flyer toy wagons have been a backbone of American ethos for nearly an era. They rise up ideas of Norman Rockwell canvases and residential America.
Be Creative – George Lucas did not carve the original Star Wars with the concept of how to trade plastic statuettes in mind. He carved an thought-provoking and relevant story then flavored up the movie aspects with mastermind superior FX. The fact is your product movie should position on its own as an artistic potency. Consider story elements that might seem a little far-fetched but take your viewers into that imaginary world and let them forget about products for a second. This does not always have to be a fantasy world as seen in this film from General Electric “A Snowball’s Chance in Hell” where they take a phrase literally and combine humor, drama and science into a 3 minute video. THEJIGSAW is a company that can afford to create content like to celebrate their success but this is not exactly a “pat on the back” ad. There are some real components as well as bizarre fictions that combine to make a video worth watching and there is no shortage of creativity implemented form the story concept to production value to edited graphics. Certain business movies even take these shorts to film festivals and place the prize leafs on their titles
In the world of brand movies, you are provided that a system of entertaining those audiences will relate with your product. Audiences will understand your business as being able to sponsor, support and ratify a creative audiovisual and carry that consciousness hooked on what your business do for its personal products. Even for minor commercial there is existent potential for them to make a minor movie that becomes their brand tag out there or at least to study a few instructions and apply them in their own movies. Occasionally this type of video-making is used for internal videos to describe the story of the industry’s roots and development. Hopefully your following company film can take a small part of this and yield from it or at least have somewhat a slight more amazing to recognize yourself as.
Google Adwords is one of the best ways in digital marketing for targeting your potential audience. But as it is a technical platform which requires money, it is needed to handle very much carefully. Here are some common mistakes that you preform which should be avoided to optimize your budget.
• Ignoring Google shopping ads for tangible products
There are many types of ads format provided by Google Adwords like text ads, display ads, contextual ads, etc. Each ad has their own significance. For tangible products Google display ads are perfect as it grabs more audience attention than any other ads. They have advantage for physical products as they show images and pricing in purchase oriented presentation way. So if you are having ecommerce business for physical products then go for Google Display ads. • Ignoring correct match keywords
Our budget depends on biding and biding depends on keywords. So keyword match types are essential for organizing your bid on variety of search terms. There are total four match types: broad match, modified broad match, phrase match, and exact match. So do keyword research and identify the category of keyword. • Avoiding ad extension
While creating ads on Google Adwords, you have very limited space to write limited characters and two headlines with small description. But you can recompense this limitation through ad extension. Ad extension includes: Call: you can add your contact information and your potential customer will take efforts to call and buy your product. Sitelinks: this feature helps you to add additional link which can feature call to action as well as additional selling points. Location: this gives you to add address of your business location which makes easy for customer to find directions. • Avoiding segmenting keywords Segment your keywords in multiple ad groups. There is no universal method to organize ad groups. But there are various methods of creating ads group depending on behavior of different products. The ad groups can be categorized by product type, demographics and pain point. Each group should contain segmented keywords relevant to that ad group.

If you had said to me three years ago that I would have started and scaled a 7-figure online business, sold one piece of my business for over 7-figures USD, moved my family to an idyllic home at Marine Drive, stopped my day job and be working less hours and spending more time with my familyI’d have laughed out loud.
But as it turns out e-commerce is not too hard after all!
When I started my business, I had no experience selling products and I certainly had no experience selling online.
My goal was to get a viable business set up and scale fast to avoid going back to work.
This meant generating 5-figures in revenue a month, but the problem was – how was I going to do that?
Selling private labelled products on Amazon
A friend was selling on Amazon and doing well, so I learned how to private label (also known as white labelling) my own product and sell it online, using Amazon’s warehousing and fulfilment services (Amazon Fulfilled by Amazon or FBA).
I live in Mumbai so started by looking for products where I could relate to my target customers; eco-conscious and willing to pay a premium for a high-quality product.
I wasn’t interested in importing low grade, cheap plastic products from China like all the popular Amazon training courses were (and still are) advising. In fact, I took the opposite approach, choosing to sell quality, ethical products because it was important that my business reflected my personal beliefs and outlook on life.
My first product was hand made merino wool. I can’t divulge exact details as I actually sold that business when it was 18 months old (for seven figures USD) and have a confidentiality agreement.
I am convinced that if you use the correct product screening criteria, when choosing your product, that there are many opportunities for selling quality products, to make enormous profits using private labelled products on Amazon.
This approach has served me very well and I’ve launched over 400 products, all bootstrapped using profits from existing sales rather than taking on loans or investors.
I’ve been deliberate in building strong brands that can be an umbrella to multiple unique products and I have a great time sourcing products. I currently buy my products from countries like Indonesia, Tibet, India and many more. I sell in the India, USA, Europe and
soon will be selling in UK, all through Amazon’s automated warehousing and fulfilment. All I need to do is keep choosing profitable products, stay in stock and manage my virtual team.
How to scale without working more
As the business grew too big for one person, I had to find a way to scale, otherwise I was going to end up working more hours and getting less family time than I did when I had my day job!
The mainstream Amazon courses all recommended getting the cheapest help, but I found a fantastic lady in Canada (through a website called Fiver.com). Jazmine is detail oriented, reliable and can finish all the things I started! She still works for me full time today and has proven to be a real asset that has helped me expand the business to what it has become today.
As I’ve added more products the size of the team has settled at two permanent staff (one India travelling the world and Jazmine in Canada) plus a couple of floating design contractors and outsourced bookkeeping. My business is lean and I can work from anywhere in the world.
Right now, I work from home in a converted part of the garage!
Reaping the rewards
I now have a solid foundation in place and can spend my time choosing more products to launch. Amazon pays me every two weeks, and they take around 30% of the sale price in their fees. My products cost another third of the sale price leaving a nice 30% margin and very low overheads.
The biggest and most rewarding change, once we realized this business was going to fly, was being able to give up my day job, which involved a lot of long hours and travel, to spend quality time with my family.
Life is pretty good and if I can do it with no tech background, no time and no spare funds then you can too!
So how can you do this too?
You may be wondering whether it is still possible to do well selling on Amazon, or what you’d need to do to get started?
Here’s my advice on what works well when it comes to selling products online:
Enjoy the process and look for products you like and appreciate.
Commit to learning and developing your critical thinking skills. There are so many shiny new objects in the form of courses, tools, events but there’s nothing like knuckling down and testing it yourself.
Choose products with enough margin. I see too many people working hard with great products but no money left over and can’t even afford to pay themselves.
Consumable products that need to be replaced are great and suit the subscription box model. This is a personal favorite of mine!
Move really fast. You’ll never have perfect information or find the perfect product (trust me, I’ve looked!). Success loves speed. I see lots of people grind to a halt, but people who set a cracking pace seem to do the best.
