There’s nothing wrong with being pansexual and there’s nothing wrong with being bisexual, and no matter the similarities or differences that may or may not be between them, both identities are valid and deserve love, respect, and representation.

I identified as pan for a while before switching back to bi, simply because I felt that bi fitted me better. doesn’t mean I don’t support pan people or the sexuality itself. this is a bi pan solidarity blog

we all understand exactly why none of the atla characters have brown eyes. we get that it’s to correspond to whatever nation they’re from/bending ability. that part does not be explained to us. what apparently needs to be explained to you is how inherently racist that is, and how white people somehow can’t fathom poc having brown eyes and them being considered just as beautiful as blue or exotic as gold or mysterious as grey or unique as green. it truly would not be the end of the world if every atla character had brown eyes because, let’s face it, almost every fucking person on the planet has brown eyes. and yet in almost every form of media it’s always the rare, light eyecolors that get portrayed as superior to brown which is an incredibly eurocentric way of thinking and leaves so many children with brown eyes feeling like they’re ugly or wishing and praying everyday that they’d have different colored eyes or straight up hating their eyes entirely. so while you may see it harmless that sokka & katara have blue eyes because they’re from the water tribe, or toph has green eyes because she’s from the earth kindgom, or azula & zuko have gold eyes because they’re from the fire nation, or aang has grey eyes because he’s an air nomad, that is not harmless and it is damaging to the kids who this show was made for.

Queer horror fans exist. Queer horror fans who enjoy tragic endings exist. We deserve representation in the genres we enjoy. All representation cant just be the palatable cartoons and cheesy rom-coms. We deserve well-rounded queer characters in terrifying, heart-wrenching stories. We deserve queer characters who arent monsters or murderers, just people existing and surviving in a shitty situation and also happen to be gay. We deserve queer characters whose deaths have meaning in the story, whose endings are satisfying but painful, who die because they are people, not because theyre queer. Acting like wanting representation in horror and tragedy is inherently homophobic is actually really shitty and disrespectful. If you dont like a genre, don't interact with it. You can't get angry and call a horror tragedy homophobic for being a horror tragedy. People die. People don't have happy endings. Queer people are people. Let us have these stories and go the fuck away.

No one ever talks about the silent parts of being disabled. The weeks where you wear the same shirt. Maybe its comfy, maybe you'd rather save your energy on doing something else. It's not just the same clothes for three days, it's weeks.

Not brushing your hair or teeth, forgetting to, it causing too much pain or taking too much energy.

Not taking a shower and constantly being worried about if you smell because showers hurt and take too much energy.

Not changing your bedsheets or pillow casings.

Not taking out the trash even when it's overflowing.

You do a small thing and you get excited and people look at you like you're weird. Little did they know that's probably all you can do today and you have to be proud and excited for the small things. You have to be.

Not being able to do more than sit/lay on your couch and watch TV.

So if you don't change, or shower, or brush your hair, or brush your teeth, or changing your sheets, or do anything except keep staying alive I am still proud of you. You did everything you had to today by just being alive.

I am so proud of you. Just keep staying alive, that's all you need to do.
