It was no doubt a result of the pair spending more and more time together; coupled with the disaster ridden city; not to mention the rising hatred towards powered humans. 

Her dreams were riddles with a mosaic of scenarios, all coming down to her demon factor and the fact that he, despite having abilities, was more human that she. 

Some were of her killing him. Some the other way around. Most prominent was his disgust at seeing what she could become. The same look of fear and hatred that the villagers who had chased her and her siblings from their home had. 

It hurt. It hurt so much that she awoke. A pain in her chest. Her eyes stinging with tears and her hair and clothing stuck to her damp skin. The mage couldn’t bare the darkness of her isolation. 

Crawling out of her own bed, she made her way to his, almost turning back a number of times. It was a bold move, but she pulled back his sheets and laid next to him. 

Moving closer to him, she buried her head against his arm.

Silently, hoping not to wake him, Mirajane slipped beneath the bed sheets. It was completely innocent. She simply couldn’t be alone any longer.
