Mini Land Spirit Shrine
use this as a conduit to connect you to the local spirits and nature
get a pot
fill it with local dirt/sand/clay
keep it on your porch/inside/near your house. somewhere you can visit it.
put cool natural items in it, like local shells, bones, branches, etc. that youโve foundโฆ
watch it come to life. if i just leave a pot of dirt around, something will spring up in it. usually those consideredย โweedsโ. if nothing grows, plant a low-maintenance native plant in it. but there should be something after a time.
make offerings like water and more natural items as you desire.ย
connect to it, talk to it, introduce yourself.
Rinse and repeat over time. Thatโs really it! and then you justโฆ build a relationship as time goes on.
Birth chart placements explained
Sun - who you are at your core
Moon - how you feel and react
Rising - how your perceived
Midheaven - your public reputation
Mercury - how you think & communicate
Venus - how you love & attract others
Mars - how you take action
Jupiter - how you grow & find luck
Saturn - how you structure
Uranus - how you revolutionise
Neptune - how you dream
Pluto - how you transform
Using Solar Patterns to Enhance Your Spellwork
Dayย
"The day begins with the dawn, moves to midday, through sunset, and then toย midnight. Each of these four phases is associated with basic energies to add extraย power to your spell:ย
Dawn:ย origins,ย newย beginnings,ย illumination,ย childrenย
Midday:ย energy,ย growth,ย creation,ย increaseย
Sunset:ย decrease,ย banishment,ย resolution,ย maturation
Midnight:ย endings,ย gestation,ย stabilityย
From these four points, you can extrapolate other times during the day, such asย midmorning or midafternoon."ย ย
Seasonsย
"The seasons have inspired more poetry and art than possibly any other naturalย event. Spellcasting by the seasons means youโll likely be planning your spell farย ahead of when youโll be casting it. Chances are good that if you schedule a spell ac-ย cording to a season, youโre taking the time to think about it. If so, it will likely be aย slowly evolving spell with far-reaching effects.ย Like the daily solar phase, the seasonal solar phase is associated with theseย basic energies that you can use to refine your spells:ย
Spring:ย origins,ย newย beginnings,ย birthย
Summer:ย passion,ย activity,ย creation/destructionย
Autumn:ย transformation,ย farewells,ย nostalgiaย
Winter:ย introspection,ย planning"

I think something people tend to forget about folk magic is prior to the internet, for many people, it wasn't about learning how to do everything. Like, some people specialized in divination and omens. Some people specialized in laying and breaking hexes. Some people specialized in healing. You'd pick who you went to based on your current situation.
I think practitioners should embrace that more: not expecting ourselves to learn how to do everything. Today's magic and witchy communities put so much pressure on learning how to do everything for yourself, but personally I think that kills the beauty of community. It's perfectly fine to narrow your interests and go to those you trust for something you aren't sure how to do yourself.
What it's like trying to learn about the Occult
Trying to learn more about the occult is so intimidating. I am trying to gather as much knowledge as I can, but there is so much reading material. Like for most other western religions it's "๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ด ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฌ. ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ ๐ช๐ต ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ฏ ๐ช๐ต๐ด ๐ต๐ฆ๐ข๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ๐ด." But for the occult it's "๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ด ๐ข ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ค๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ช๐ต ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ช๐ฃ๐ณ๐ข๐ณ๐บ.

Rice In Witchcraft
Rice in witchcraft is known for it's properties ofย Prosperity, Wealth, Protection, and Fertility. You can add rice to your spell jars, placing it around your house, or to carrying it with you.
Other uses for Rice:
Burying stones and other items to cleanse and charge them
To represent the Air Element
Using rice in your food to bring your intentions to those who eat it.
Use as a base for money bowls to attract wealth in your life
Keeping rice near your door to ward off negative energy
Using rice as offerings to deities, especially ones associated with agriculture.

Sleepy time sachets
For a couple weeks now my family has been dealing with restless and loss of sleep. I decided to make some sachets to help get us to sleep. They can be placed under the pillow, bed, or even on your nightstand.
A page from my BOS
Lavender: good sleep
Chamomile: reduce stress and restful sleep
Rose petal: peace and happiness
Rose quartz: pleasant dreams
Amethyst: ward off nightmares and help get to sleep
Clear quartz: healing and amplify other spell ingredients
Feather: drift off to sleep and float into dreamland
Send me back to the forests, Iโm tired of it here โจ๐โจ
"Blessed be" - do you actually know where it came from?
"Blessed be" has become quite the catch phrase in 21st century spiritual circles, especially among the modern witch communities. It's practically become the witches' version of "I will pray for you", and quite frankly, it's become more and more annoying for many of us to see it and hear it all the time, everywhere.
The phrase originates from a Wiccan ritual, which is included in some Gardnerian initiation ceremonies. During the rite, the High Priest or High Priestess performs on a person what is known as the "Five Fold Kiss", and recites the following words:
Blessed be thy feet, which have brought thee in these ways, Blessed be thy knees, that shall kneel at the sacred altar, Blessed be thy womb, without which we would not be, Blessed be thy breasts, formed in beauty, Blessed be thy lips, that shall utter the Sacred Names of the gods.
Before Gerald Gardner incorporated the phrase into his Book of Shadows, "blessed be" has already appeared in other religious texts such as the King James Bible ("blessed be the name of the Lord"), which, I would not be surprised, if it were the inspiration for the phrase "blessed be the fruit" in The Handmaid's Tale.
So, as you can see, for the witches who aren't Wiccan, and for the witches who aren't religious at all, this can be an obnoxious thing that gets thrown at all of us constantly.
I maintain my position that "blessing" people as well as praying for people without their consents and/or against their wishes is an invasive thing to do to begin with.
There are many appropriate phrases to express well wishing that can be used as a greeting or form of regards. Stop saying "blessed be" to everyone. Please.
Opportunity Spell
Even if youโre satisfied with youre current job, use this spell to achieve added success or increase your performance. If youโre searching for a job, this spell can help you find one thatโs right for you. Itโs important to keep an open mind, even if you have your eye on the ideal job. Remember to actively pursue all opportunities.
Place one green candle and one orange candle together in a large dish or bowl. Sprinkle sage around the candles. Visualize your intent as you light the candles. Chant:
Bring me what I need In order to succeed. Strength to know and build And keep my life fulfilled.

The Seven Stings Hex
This is a hex intended to provide long term irritation and discomfort to the target until theyโve learned a specific lesson.
Materials
- 7 white tealights
- 7 thorns (I use bougainvillia or rose but any will do)
- Vinegar
- Sea salt
- Small bottle
- Needle
- Targetโs name on paperย
Steps
1. Soak your thorns in vinegar for whatever amount of time you feel you need. I usually leave mine for a few hours
2. Line your seven candles up so that they are next to each other, you can have them in either a row or a circle, whichever you like!
3. Light all your candles and place a thorn in front of each. Picture the energies of each thorn and candle linking to one another.
4. Fold the piece of paper with your targets name so that it has three layers.
5. Needle in one hand and paper in the other, recite the following chant (I like to do another chant more specific to the situation before this one as well). As you speak it, pierce the paper with your needle.
โMind, body, soul - my hex will take its toll.โ
Place the paper and the needle in your bottle for later.
6. Next, repeat the following words. As you say each line, extinguish on of your candles and place its respective thorn into your bottle.
โSeven days of slight unease
Seven nights of restless sleep
Seven dawns of nagging guilt
Seven dusks of bad luck built
Seven days of karma coming
Seven days of endless running
Seven days of all youโve earned
Until your lesson you have learned
But should the lesson stay unheeded
These seven days shall be repeatedโ
7. Throw a pinch of salt in the bottle. Meditate with the open bottle for awhile and focus on your intent, allow your energy to flow into it. When youโre ready, seal the bottle. You may use wax for this if you wish.
8. Leave the bottle in a cold, dark place to add to the discomfort. I left mine outside during a storm. Donโt forget to cleanse your space and yourself after performing a hex! Once you feel the bottle has done its work, burn its flammable contents and cleanse everything else.
I like to perform this hex at night on the evening of a new moon, and of course for any hexes or curses a stormy night is always best, however as always your intent is the main ingredient!
