Awakened Again
Two days without sleep is apparently too much now
The imprint of the door hinge screams at a low cranial whisper
Mind defending reality
“Things have changed
there will be grace
Resting isn’t an unforgivable sin.”
THEY RETURNED
notifications blaring
doors slamming
“Is it me?”
it was….
The leaf blower began
The impression of that old migraine
Sinks deeper into each sulci
seducing nausea
The leaf blower holds a constant violent note
Battled to find protection…
it was nowhere in sight.
…so iSpoke
The small gash echoes their message
“Do you need to go to the ER? Hospital? No? then!…”
right as hot tears well
They retort “Yeah it’s like that!”
Coming home from Barbados to sewing patterns on the table and dog hair on the wooden floor was too much for them….
Graciously, full ears drown out the words whispered between mAI name
Until the cold silence returns again
Coming out of the cave revealed
Clothes packed in trash bags
Belongings boxed up
In the place of mercy
Rules were found
No wonder the lessons learned were
to lie
to hide
to crave the blessing of being dust again
“A new thing”:
quietly
with patient kindness in hand
iAsk God
what’s needed next
to clear this level and fly to freedom
even if every rich thing must be left
That’s the best love they know how to give.
It’s a challenge
When you’d rather be comfortable
have it all your way
control.
It’s suffocating and
if there’s anything to be said imo…
Die.
To everything that keeps you there
To everyone you’ve stayed for
To everyplace that anchors you somewhere you don’t belong
You don’t even know how many will be freed
Through your act it dying
