HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, RISE OF THE TMNT MOVIE!!!
Fun fact! Did you know the Chinese theater release had its own posters?!
Shoutout to Jim Lawson for drawing Donnie beating up Trump. Twice.
Mr. Lawson the man that you are
Kasparov had once described Polgár as a "circus puppet" and asserted that women chess players should stick to having children. Polgár called the game, "One of the most remarkable moments of my career. Polgár thus became one of the players who have beaten Kasparov. The game was historic as it was the first time in chess history that a female player beat the world's No. 1 player in competitive play.
Hey TRAs, this is why we want women only leagues. Because men do shit like call us “circus puppets” fit only for motherhood and domestic drudgery.
Imagine if she had lost. How demoralizing. How many women got called similar and were too upset to play? How many women quit because their male competitors harassed and demeaned them?
Imagine a world where if a man attacked women with sexist misconduct he lost everything. Imagine sportsmen being instantly ousted if they call women slurs. Imagine professional men being immediately demoted the second they imply women are lesser than men. Imagine men losing the right to enter contests or graduate programs if they have committed an act of sexism during the application process.
Imagine if it were normal for women to recite S.C.U.M before every match and the audience cheered and men have to sit there quietly and take it with a smile or else be ruined socially.
This is why I hate when people use the argument that sex separated sports are about men being stronger and faster, thereby stopping women from qualifying.
Women deserve to be celebrated for their achievements in their own right. Without being compared to men.
Male children get to look at any world record or job or achievement and see a man there by default. Men just have no idea what that does to a child's psyche, to rarely see yourself in places, and when you do, it's about defying the odds and an abnormality.
Imagine if boys were only exposed to the idea of being a builder or a scientist, when they are 16 at school careers day.
I remember when my teacher at nursery would ask my class what we wanted to be when we grew up, and the boys would say things like postman, fireman, train conductor, astronaut, all things were are plastered in shows and toys aimed at boys. The only answer the girls said was Princess, Ballerina, or in my case just break down and cry because you have never seen a black princess or ballerina. Princess isn't a job, and you'd have more chances to become an astronaut than a ballerina. That was many years ago, and fortunately, things have improved, but the effect growing up without representation had on my self-esteem as a child is immeasurable tbh.
Women and girls should be celebrated in their OWN RIGHT, we need to see each other thrive.
i hate when a feminist org/influencer/whatever is trying to explain the intersectional perspective of something and they fall into “this harms women as well as marginalized communities” because it implies women aren’t marginalized. women ARE a marginalized group. and i completely understand what they mean (they mean women and OTHER marginalized groups are impacted, or they mean women are impacted and women who are marginalized in additional ways feel the impact more) but idk i hate the wording so much. it’s evidence of patriarchal influence even in feminist spaces — women can’t be the sole recipients of harm, and if they are, we have to imply that oppressed men are also included to get any movement. idk
They have this attitude that "misogyny is a thing of the past". They think that since women can vote and have jobs and wear pants, feminism that focus on women is no longer necessary.
The existence of the phrase "women-oriented feminism" scares me; it's so insane. Neo-patriarchy has become so agile that it has managed to squeeze feminism for itself. Feminists of the past would have been shocked by this
Меня пугает существование фразы «Феминизм ориентированный на женщин», это так безумно, неопатриархат стал таким проворным, что успел отжать феминизм себе, феминистки прошлого бы от такого впали в шок
i think we should start taking beloved archetypes for male characters and using them to make female characters. this woman is an asshole with a heart of gold. this woman is a loveable goofball. this woman is a cool but scarred lone wolf who just wants to protect people. this woman is a badass con artist who is always seen wearing an immaculate suit. this woman is a dilf
what if we cut each other’s hair in the kitchen…….. and we were both butches

“Instead of complaining about the lack of a certain type of fan content, you should make it yourself because fans aren’t entitled to create the kind of thing you want to see” and “the lack of f/f and female or non-white character-focused fan content is upsetting because it speaks to a larger problem of unaddressed internalized misogyny and racism in fandom spaces and it really does suck that no matter the fandom everyone always gravitates to making content for The Resident White Man” are two ideas that can and should coexist
