Small doesn’t always mean few things to see...

Visiting Museum of History in Lund, Sweden. Long gone, very dead, giant animals stare back at me.

With limited means, the small museum has done an excellent job in presenting the quite spectacular objects and artifacts. The museum is well worth a visit when you have chance to see Lund.

Mobila och självstående - nya utställningsväggar med långt liv

Nu har de tagits i bruk på Örebro Slott, de nya utställningsväggarna som  designats av Molnhavet Design Studio och tillverkats av det utomordentliga företaget Familjen Karlsson i Lidköping. 

Bilden ovan visar dem i Örebro läns museums konstsalong “Länets Konst”. I den aktuella utställningssalen var det omöjligt att fästa i de gamla slottsväggarna - där löste väggssystemet en knepig situation enkelt. 

Väggsystemet utformades ursprungligen för vandringsutställningar, men kan även användas för att bygga tillfälliga utställningsskärmar, föremålsmontrar eller utställningsscenografi för kortare utställningar där budgeten är begränsad.

Genom att kunna återanvändas gång på gång har man sparat in på mycket materialkostnader efter den första investeringen. 

Utställningsystemet togs fram för att kunna fungera för vandringsutställningar - mått, ihopsättning och material är utformade för att kunna transporteras lätt i mindre lastbil, visas i de flesta utrymmen - även ouppvärmda - samt återanvändas ett stort antal gånger. Ramarna kan sättas ihop på ett nästan obegränsat antal sätt - och de kräver inga extra fästen för att stå stadigt.

Den enkla och stryktåliga konstruktionen gör att två tekniker med lätthet flyttar och reser en mellanstor vandringsutställning på en arbetsdag.

Utställningssystemet utgörs av robusta ramar som kan förses med byggskivor (vilka man kan måla och spackla och på så vis snabbt resa en tillfällig vägg), - men de kan också förses med akrylglas, hyllplan eller utställningsprint för att utgöra en billig lösning för tillfälliga utställningar som inte ska flyttas. 

För vandringsutställningen “Var hör jag hemma - vad anslagstavlor berättar om Örero län” sattes ramarna ihop i självstående grupper om två eller tre, utställningen försågs med LED-belsyning och skärmarna utformades för att föra tankarna till länets anslagstavlor.

New Exhibition walls in use

Designed by Molnhavet Design Studio and manufactured by the excellent company Familjen Karlsson in Lidköping, Sweden, these walls were originally developed to provide a flexible structure for touring exhibtions. 

Pictures above show the Exhibtion walls used for a Art exhibition - in this case the walls were arranged to provide wall surface for displaying art works - since the interior walls of the gallery were out of bounds for any screws or nails. 

The first use of them were for the travelling exhibition “Var hör jag hemma?” which was produced during 2018, with the first opening at Örebro Castle - the exhibtion is at the moment (spring 2019) touring the county of Örebro and will be shown at several venues around the county. 

Due to the easy assembly and light weight construction, the exhibition can be arranged by two technicians in a working day.

The wall frames may be fitted with wood boards, acrylic glass or printed board and fit nicely together in a multitude of combinations. Due to their measurements they’re easily transported in a small van and readibly used in most exhibition spaces.

Designing a Proposal I: Putain de Guerre - A Labyrinth of Memories

The french artist Jaques Tardi has produced many antiwar graphic novels and comics, mainly focusing on the collective European trauma of the First World War, and the pitfalls of patriotism spawned several albums, among them Putain De Guerre! / Godamn This War!  Putain de Guerre would also be the title of of a new proposed exhibition with the works of the album of Jaques Tardi.

Shown here are some very early WIP for a proposal for a design of an exhibition at Swedish Army Museum in Stockholm - one of Sweden’s best historical museums, with exhibitions on three spacious floors.
