Hi again!
Wow, it’s been three years since I’ve been on this. So much has happened in the past three years, and yet when I logged into here it was like nothing has changed. I actually forgot I had this thing, but it wasn’t until a couple of hours ago when I was reminiscing about the past through some sentimental letters and notes (I was doing an assignment and got sidetracked, as you do haha) that I remembered I had this.
So where have you been girl? First thing’s first: I have been super busy with uni. Can you believe I had my last day for my degree a couple of days ago?! After 4 years, I have pretty much finished! (Actually I still have one more assignment to submit and my final results to come out, but I’m pretty sure I’m done haha). I can technically start teaching now!.. But in all honesty, I am so scared. This has always been something that I could never get comfortable with: starting a new chapter in my life. I have to be an adult now, like I need to apply for jobs and work and earn money and pay off my hecs... It’s all starting to feel real now, and it’s scaring the heck out of me.
Besides uni taking out a huge chunk of my life, I was in a relationship for a while which didn’t work out in the end, but that’s okay because stuff like that happens. If anything, I think it made me realize that I am worth more than how I was treated and that I need to think about myself more than others. I honestly could not be happier! Of course I miss being in a relationship and feeling like you have someone there to give you kisses and hugs, but I have really missed being single. This past year, I have really focused on myself and my priorities. Seriously, I have felt super happy in this past year than when I was in the relationship. No regrets from it though if that’s what you’re thinking, I have learnt a lot from it and I wouldn’t have changed anything.
I also work out now, which is something that I never imagined myself doing hahaha! From being one of the most laziest people to working out 2 hours a day, six days a week, it has made me feel so much better about myself. Not only that, I have made really awesome friends at the boot camp that I go to.
Well, that’s pretty much a summary of what has happened in the last 3 years for me. I felt the need to write this because I wanted to let a few things off my chest about the past couple of years. Looking back made me realize how much has changed and how anything can happen. Who knows what will happen in the next few years: A permanent job? Love? Family? Travelling? I’m not really sure. But I’m glad that I am now in the right state of mind in life right now, so hopefully I can make the best choices for myself. I just need to remember: Stay positive.
Adios!
M.
