constantly blown away by margaret encino's kindness. thinking about how her first action was to leak information from her own company to the people of a planet the company was planning on exploiting and colonizing in an effort to save them, about how she took money out of her own bank account to help the ship and crew get back on their feet without even being a part of the crew yet, about how she made gunnie's dept a priority in her life and dedicated the rest of her time in the campaign to absolve him of that dept, about how as soon as she became co-pilot the FIRST thing she thought about was "how can i make the lives of this crew better how can i help them get autonomy over their own lives" and even while she was hurting due to her personal life she constantly chose her crew over anything else.
Summary:
āBarry asked me to eavesdrop on your conversation with the captain,ā Riva said serenely, their webbed hands suspended on either side of their body.
Barryās eyes went wide. āRiva,ā he hissed, going faintly pink as his eyes darted guiltily back to Sidney.
āOh, was I not supposed to tell her? Sorry, I didnāt know you wanted it to be a secret.ā Riva turned to Sidney, smiling vaguely. āI think itās very nice that you wanted to make him coffee, Sid. It was rather rude of him to yell at you like that. Iād take a latte if you made it for me, although Iām not quite sure how Iād drink it.ā
Sidney was sure that if she had blood, it would all be rushing to her face right about now. Barry asked Riva to eavesdrop on her? Which meant theyād both heard about the stupid mistake sheād made, and how the captain had berated her for it, how heād talked to her like he thought she was the stupidest thing alive. Hell, they both probably thought the captain was right.
Sidney herself was starting to wonder if the captain was right.
(Barry is worried about Sidney. They bake a pie and have a heart-to-heart.)
