Right now, Chicago doesn’t really have a social center/infoshop space. A group of us has been working to open one, but we need to raise enough money to get started. With this new social center, we hope to provide resources for both the immediate community and for anticapitalist and antiauthoritarian meeting space. Other resources we hope to provide include: -zine and book library -prisoner letter writing parties -queer/trans youth community space, including regular QTIPOC youth exclusive meetups -free store/goods redistribution -space for meetings, workshops, and skillshares -computers with internet access for community use -warming/cooling center -wall space for local artists -arts and crafts materials, board game parties, and other cool things

Fed Up Fest seeks to elevate the music and visibility of queer & trans people engaging with and confronting white supremacist, heteropatriarchy and actively challenging microaggressions, cultural appropriation, and rape culture in our punk & hardcore scenes. We're looking for bands that are queer as an adjective AND queer as a verb. We're a collective of punks who want to have fun at shows rather than feel afraid, and see the necessity in actively seeking ways to destroy what destroys us (FTP, ACAB, etc.). With all of that in mind, we especially encourage Black and non-Black people of color to apply to play Fed Up Fest. We recognize the importance of prioritizing marginalized communities as a mode of combating the perpetual whitewashing of our punk & hardcore scenes. Lastly, bands comprised ENTIRELY of cis, straight, white people need not apply. Again, we are explicitly seeking to elevate queer and trans -- particularly POC -- visibility and music in punk & hardcore scenes. Thanks for applying!

Some of my goals in life are to be there for those I love whenever they need me, to be responsible, honest, and communicative, to constantly make myself a better person and to respond to criticism constructively, to share as much as possible, and to make each interaction as important as if it was the last one. It's a work in progress I guess. You never know when people you love will pass away, I want to be able to look back on my interactions and feel as positive as possible about them.
