Fun stuff in Monster Hunter Wilds you may not have noticed:

Hirabami shed their skin like bugs or snakes and you can harvest it

They also either sleep upside down by their tail from a ceiling, or by clinging onto walls almost completely camouflaged

Balahara seem to have a behaviour akin to filter feeding in the sand, and the mud they spit is probably said sand

Balahara also have dozens of bright blue clam eyes between their teeth

Gillopods and Pillopods are only seen around the landspines, even outside of Wyveria in different regions. (ie Area X in Oilwell Basin.) They feed on excess wylk

The dragontorch spins and you can see it in the background while fighting Zoh Shia

Nerscylla has Gypceros shaped cocoons hanging from the ceiling of her nest

The jewel beetles in the Scarlet Forest only show up on trees that have sap on them

There's a Dalamadur skull in the Wounded Hollow, so all the bones around Suja and Grand Hub is its skeleton

The Guardian Akveld theme has a heartbeat in it

Nu Udra has her children float at her nest during the Springfest, the same with Xu Wu

When crossing between Iceshard Cliffs towards Wyveria or Suja, you get to walk through the ruined city where Hirabami casually hang out and see the destruction and massive empty moat

Jin Dahaad can show up on the many bridges at Iceshard Cliffs and beat the shit out of other monsters

Guardian Akveld's armour description is VERY different to regular Akrvelds. Gives me the chills

Vigor wasps actively go to vigor plants and collect their sap if they themselves aren't carrying any

Most people probably know this already, but corpses decay, and have a chance to grow fungus or special wylk you can harvest if they decompose in a wylk pool

Wonder how dung appears? Doshaguma have a pooping animation

The palico that revives you runs all the way back to camp in real-time (yes you can follow it)

Some NPCs and your handlers will react to your emotes. Not as much as in Rise (I can't get a rejection to a kissy emote here like from Himiko...)

Sometimes you'll find Kunafa villagers setting out on an expedition in real-time

The wylk pools around ruins of Wyveria change location every now and then

When an odogaron flees it sometimes will climbs the dragonspine

There are certain gathering and mining spots around Wyveria only accessible by using a Seikreit

The thing about the modern age is that even when you're not in the forest fire evacuation zone, the flames are there on the horizon and the wind might bring it your way.

So if you're reading this and you're like me and your first instinct is "well, I'm not directly in danger," that instinct is taken as permission by Visa.

And if you've read the announcement that Kickstarter has made, you know that it is full of ambiguities that would allow anyone with a malicious interpretation of the policy to have any project they like sabotaged mid or post fundraise, with the money it raised held indefinitely by the payment processor.

Also it's kind of a comical policy on just a pure language level. You can't say DILF on Kickstarter anymore. What are we doing here.

With the push to eradicate objectionable content, the goal is not and has never been to eradicate *harmful* content. It is to ban anything that would make the worst person you have ever met upset. The kindest gentlest softest story you've ever read is somebody else's objectionable content and the forest fire is not going to stop in front of your house to ask your permission if it should burn any further.

It sucks to live in the 2020s where all problems are global and nothing feels like you can ever do anything about it at the individual level. But you can, actually. Just the same way as you'd eat an elephant. Bite by bite.

Giving Kickstarter a piece of your mind lets them know this decision sucks.

Calling your credit card company and lodging an objection against censoring storefronts ties up their phones and costs them money, a thing that will factor into their aggression in stuff like this.

And being a little less afraid. Signal boosting creators when you don't have to. It's all something.

There's so many real people and so so few payment processor CEOs. The world can be better.

been following a person on instagram recently who is logging into skyrim, doing exactly one thing in the game, then logging out, every day until they defeat alduin. the last week has just been picking up one individual gold coin off a pile of them on a table every single day and everybody keeps voting for them to keep picking up coins instead of moving on. they're calling it Coin Week. it's day 201 right now
