Being the youngest in a family of boys made her childhood an interesting one. Behaving well wasn’t anything her brothers were interested in but Winnie respected her parent and earned their respect. Not to mention she had the best nose in the family, using her magic for good instead of causing a rukkus like her siblings. That’s why she was also the one who helped her Uncle Drac find a missing creature one summer which was her first introduction to Hotel Transylvania. It’s where she found a family outside of the other Lopez’s. There was her Aunt Mavis, Uncle Drac, and Aunt Elizabeth to name a few. All of her time was spent running around with them over the summer when they’d come visit though not all of her brothers were allowed to join them. It was her good behavior that allowed her to spend the most time there, sitting in the library or being the shadow of one of her friends. For the first few years of her life, she didn’t speak much, only when she needed to, but the hotel helped her come out of her shell. When she was there she wasn’t another one of the Lopez kids, she could just be Winnie.
It was the hotel library where she discovered her love for true crime, reading every book available by the time she was ten. She knew from a young age that she wanted to start a business and make something of herself. That’s why she rarely gave her time over to things besides her studies, not wanting to distract herself from her way out. Not like she didn’t love her family but she felt stuck in the shadow of her brother’s. At school, she’d even gotten their hand-me-downs whether it was the same teachers who wrote her off as a troublemaker like them, the same jersey number, or even the same locker. Winnie tended to surprise people by being quite the opposite. If they’d even gotten ten words out of her it was a big day but she preferred to keep to herself unless she had something to say.
When she graduated she only applied to the university on the Isle so that she could live in the place where she felt the most at home. Besides, Winnie wanted to go somewhere she could start over and not be known by the boys who came before her. Now that she’s adjusted to her new location, she’s started to come out of her shell.
Winnie is a spitfire beneath her sweet demeanor though she prefers to keep that part of her hidden. While her brothers embrace their animalistic instinct, Winnie keeps it more contained so that she’s able to use it to her advantage. That’s also why she’s so good at tracking people, things, and can protect herself all the same. Nothing gets by that she doesn't notice.
No one besides Mavis knows that she is a werewolf and she’s absolutely terrified of anyone finding out. She’s seen what the Hunters can do, not wanting to get caught in their crossfire.
She is extremely determined. It’s her dream to open up her own business or law firm, hoping that she could use her powers to help people. Winnie graduated with a degree in Criminology at the university and has gone on to law school.
Since coming to the Isle she developed a crush on the first friend she made, a boy named Dipper Pines who works at the Mystery Shack. After meeting in class she couldn’t help but start stopping by, getting to know him which only made her like him more. Of course, Winnie would never tell him this but enjoys staring at him when he isn’t paying attention.
Her father is her best friend in the world. She’s been attached to him since she was a child, following him around whenever he was home. They still talk at least once a week and he’s the person she calls for everything.
She works part-time at the hotel to take care of the bills, though thanks to her Aunt Mavis she doesn’t have to pay rent. Besides, she likes the work and nosing around to see what everyone is up to. There’s no better way to be involved than to be in the middle of the action anyway. The Hotel provided a safe place for many creatures who were like them and those were her favorite guests.
Sometimes she gets worried that she’s a monster even though she does all she can to control her urges. When the full moon hits she becomes a werewolf like the rest of her family and the darkness inside of them all comes out. Winnie’s done all she can to make sure no one gets hurt when it happens, usually asking Mavis for help now that she’s on the Isle. Those nights are spent alone or somewhere safe
