thinking about how despite how much they hate(d) each other it was always harrow making almost borderline flirty comments at gideon. 'i wouldve thought youd like to see my girlish and vulnerable heart,' 'or i may start to like it,' gideon going 'why did i have to be born so attractive' and harrow just saying 'because everyone would have throttled you otherwise' (ie not denying it). gideons flirty-ish comments were like an annoying jab at her side but harrows comments always came out like they wanted to hit right under her skin. ianthe was so right harrow IS a romantic

You ever realize Eddie Diaz has identity issues because of his family. Imagine all his life growing up his dad left his family a lot. Eddie has to be the man of the house because he grew up with mostly women. His mom, sisters, abuelas, and tias were the only ones around him. Since his father wasn't there he had to hold that mantle. He probably has this pressure of being a man and what that means. He never had the time to just figure out who he was and then when he got Shannon pregnant he never found the time.

Without the identity he turned to the identity forced onto him and be his father. He becomes a father who leaves his family to make money. This would have been Eddie for the rest of his life but then Chris was born with cerebral palsy. Which made being absent unsustainable because Chris needed a village not just financial support.

Shannon was valid to take a break after she was forced to take the role of homemaker thrust upon her because of Eddie's identity issues. The man just keeps doing all the things he thinks he is meant to do but never stops to just find himself. Till like recently since things haven't made sense for him, I mean yeah he realized he couldn't repeat his family cycle and left them in El Paso. He just hasn't done the work to dismantle what it means for him because the move from El Paso to LA was for Chris to be able to escape the expectations his family can thrust upon a young boy. Which Eddie makes it very clear he didn't want for Chris.

Eddie in season 10 is on the precipice of figuring himself out because he has the time to himself now. That's because for once he stopped trying to be his father. He stopped looking for a mom (let's be honest he was not dating for love) for Chris. He stopped and decided to take time for himself and be in a place where he doesn't need to stress on being someone for everyone else. He lives in a village of people who will take care of each other without the expectation of strength. For the first time in life he is so vulnerable with himself and has now decided to pray. We have been watching this man deconstruct his sense of self and stopped "performing". He literally bid on himself because he knew he would have to perform again which is the last thing he wants.

Now with Theo in the scene he gets to give back to the village and especially to the person who gave him his village. Which is Buck a person who Eddie never really has to perform for. He is the most vulnerable, real, and raw with Buck. He doesn't lie and doesn't hide his opinions from Buck. Eddie and Buck fight a lot but I feel that is what makes them special to each other. They don't have to be afraid to show their broken side to each other because that is what love is for. Like how Buck says, "So every day is the best day ever, is that really love? Right, shouldn't it be when you're at your worst and they're at their worst, you have every reason to give up and you still decide you want to try again."

personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like “the way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so I’m doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the same” are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe I’ve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist
