Here are answers to a few questions I get. I’ll pin this, and update it as and when I get more questions to answer. If there’s anything else you want to know, send a message, and I’ll update it here. Name: jp | From: Chicago, Ill. | Live: London, England.
* Why are the texts not underneath the images? Because I prefer to have a break between the two so as to avoid illustrating the text or explaining the image. The break is about focusing on the dash in « picture/poem » the hyphen in « image-text » or the comma in « discourse, figure ».
* What’s the point? To bring image and text in dialogue knowing that the image, especially the titillating or erotically charged one, always win.
* Why bother with the poetry? True, it appears to bring few “likes,” but faced with the speed at which scrolling through a feed takes place, why always succumb to the lure of the image?
* How did you end up being you? err...
* What motivates you? Like many, no doubt, I’m looking for « tornadoes of desire and exquisite calms » as Anaïs Nin says in Ladders to Fire, 1946.
* Update: 4 Nov. 2022: Unfortunately, for lack of time, this blog will only occasionally be updated. Thanks for all the likes and follows. Much appreciated. Good luck to you.
