Life After PLL

I thought i would end this blog on a positive note and put together some recommendations for people looking for something to watch after PLL. I’ll include stories similar to the show in case that’s what you’re craving, i gave a little personal description on each one but you can click the title for the preview. 

Riverdale. If you’re craving more mystery after PLL you might want to give this one a try. It has similar themes than PLL did, hidden family secrets, deception, small town with old history, and friendship. It’s in its first season and so far i recommend it, the mystery presented in season one was tied up in the final episode leaving enough open to move forward. Like i said it’s a show with similar elements than PLL but with a more immediate resolution to the puzzle presented, also it’s narrated in a really cool way. Big Little Lies. I’m recommending this one because I was blown away by it, but it’s definitely not a teen show, It deals with really dark themes. It’s based on a book and it’s all contained in this one season, everything is wrapped at the ending, the whole show has various ongoing mysteries that come together in the end. You might need to give it a while because, in the beginning, it’s not so clear where the story is taking you but i promise a satisfying ending and amazing performances. And Then There Were None. Based on the novel by Agatha Christie, the crime novel queen. It’s a mini-series. Ten strangers are invited to an island by a mysterious host, and start to get killed one by one. Could one of them be the killer? As any of Agatha Christie’s stories, i promise you well thought out plots, logic and satisfying resolutions. A Witness for the Prosecution. Another Agatha Christie story recently adapted to tv. It’s a mini-series as well. The hunt is on to find the murderer of a wealthy glamorous heiress who is found dead in her London townhouse. There’s murder, mystery and plot twists done right. The Good Doctor. This is an upcoming tv series starring Freddie Highmore, the trailer looks promising and I’m including it on the list because the character gave me Wren vibes and I thought some of you might enjoy it. I’m not sure if this show will contain any mystery at all, it looks more drama oriented but looks good nonetheless. Bates Motel. On the same note you might want to check out Freddie Highmore’s Bates Motel, it concluded recently and while i didn’t love all the seasons i came back to watch the resolution and I was very satisfied, it’s really twisted and it doesn’t shy away from it. The Lost Woods resorts in PLL was a nod to the Bates Motel, and Hitchcock’s books are referenced throughout the show so you might enjoy watching the connections from this one. Needless to say, murder and mystery abound.

Stranger Things.This one crosses to the sci-fi side, but it’s also a mystery show. I’m sure some if not most of you have heard of it. If you haven’t watched it give it a shot.

THEY COULD’VE LINKED ALEX BACK TO MOMENTS WHEN SPENCER WAS ADDICTED TO DRUGS AND DOESN’T REMEMBER SCENES AND LIKE THERE WERE SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO TIE IT BACK TO THE BEGINNING AND THEY JUST DIDN’T.

I think as a storyteller I’ve tried to do that a lot in our premieres and finales. We all have always loved doing that on the show. I definitely watched the pilot several times before I wrote the finale and wanted to make it feel as full circle as possible, even down to the music and working with our composer on the score.

The PLL cast on what they will miss the most about PLL:

Lucy Hale: It sounds cliche, but I’ll miss the comfortable, fun, relaxing environment we created on set.

Troian Bellisario: The feeling of comfort on that set with that crew. And the feeling of family.

Shay Mitchell: I’ll miss being able to work with my castmates and crew that have become family to me. I have spent more time with them in the last seven years than I have my actual family!

Janel Parrish: The cast and crew. What a family we created.

Tyler Blackburn: I’m going to miss the relationships with the cast and crew that developed over seven seasons. We had an especially wonderful crew. There was so much support and camaraderie among us. It felt safe and happy.

Ian Harding: The cast and crew. It was joy everyday to work on that show. Even in the worst moments, I would still rather be there then any other set.

Keegan Allen: The connection between our characters that took years to build upon and how that translated to such ease on set.

Andrea Parker: That’s easy. I’ll miss the incredible interaction I’ve had with the show’s fans and their passion for the world Sara, Marlene and the rest of this extraordinary “PLL” family helped to create.

Is Hanna Bethany? - Or does she have an evil Twin?

It’s been bugging me for ages and we did not get clear answers yet. Why does Hanna seem to get the worst…why was she tortured? Why HER? Why does the game pick HER over and over?

Here is my theory maybe you can follow me. I think that Hanna is actually Bethany’s Twin or that Hanna actually IS Bethany.

WHY? Well i first started thinking something like that since 2x13 - The Twin Story.

If we assume that Story is based on a true Story and if we assume that Hanna is part of it that means she is eighter the attacking girl or the girl that got hurt.Eighter way Hanna could be Bethany’s Twin who got hurt by Bethany and the Reason Bethany endet up in Radley in the first place. That would explain why she got all that hate. OR Bethany did actually kill her Twin (jupp that is very dark but it’s PLL so what^^) and ended up in Radley where Ashley Marin and her Husband decided to adopt her and change her Name to Hanna Marin instead. If that is the case i truly do believe that Hanna eighter does not remember anything Bethany did or she does and that is the reason she is so broken up inside. (remember when she told Lucas “Lucas, I know you think I’m somebody you’re not. Everyone thinks I’m somebody I’m not. Somebody smarter, braver, sharper. But I’m not.”)

Are there ANY clues that make me think this is more than a crazy idea?

Exhibit A - Drawing

We know that Bethany was really good at drawing and guess who of the girls can draw pretty good as well? 

Okay that is a far stretch right - many people can draw that doesn’t mean Hanna is related to or IS Bethany.

Exhibit B the Ghost Girl

The Ghost girl appeared to Ashley Marin in 3x13 - she looks just like the girl from the Twin Story so why did Ashley see her? Is it because Ashley had to bring Bethany to Radley in order to keep Hanna safe or is it because Ashley adopted Bethany who killed that girl?

Exhibit C Hanna and Mirrors

There are so many weird Hanna and Mirror Moments in S7 especially every time Grunwald in 7x08 tells Hanna that the danger is close - she ALWAYS looks into Mirrors. 

Also Grunwald is talking to a Mirror that Hanna is looking at for a moment. 

What could that mean? Does Hanna know she has a Twin - does she deep down remember the Twin Story because it is her own. 

The Mirrors actually work for both Theories if Hanna is Bethany’s Twin and Bethany is the danger maybe Hanna has a feeling that it is about her and if Hanna actually is Bethany she maybe remembers killing her twin and that is why she keeps looking into Mirrors because she kinda killed her own reflection?

I think her being Bethany’s Twin and Bethany being uber A makes a lot of sense in many ways and would explain why Hanna was targeted and tortured so much - because she was living the life Bethany never could. 

If Hanna IS Bethany there are many good reasons for someone to target her as well because she did kill Toby’s Mom after all…

Full Circle

So I’m starting to think things coming “full circle” means all of the girls’ lying is going to finally catch up to them after all these years. I still think one of them killed the girl in Bethany’s grave (Bethany or not) and they are all somehow involved, hence their story sounding rehearsed. Same with Dunhill….they are about to get hit with it all. That’s why Tanner is back. Shes taking them down for more than just Dunhill’s murder. She’s going to crack the whole case.

And she said they she always thought they were guilty of something! I’ve always thought (or at least hoped) that they killed whoever is in the grave. It’s honestly the only thing that would makes sense for them to torture them (although that’s still no reason to torture somebody but you get me)
