Vash greets the SEEDS passengers and then lets out a supersonic screech when the explosion goes off early, scaring the bajeezus out of him.

Nai is laughing in the background "Dude, you haven't screamed like that since we were, like, five!"

Backstage Interviews: Musical Skills (All the plant boys + Nicholas)

Nai answers. "Luckily enough we all pretty much know how to play the piano."

Teenage Vash interjects, "Except Vash."

"Yeah, except him," Baby Vash echoes mischievously.

Teenage Nai agrees with a solemn nod. "He's really bad."

Baby Nai, who's sitting next to Vash, puffs his cheeks in defence. "Guys! Rude."

Vash runs his fingers through his bangs with a sheepish smile and pats the youngster's shoulder. "It's okay, I know I suck."

Nick joins the group, greeting them with an evil glint in his eye. "He does suck at piano," he agrees, propping his forearms on Vash's shoulders, leaning in close. "But do you know which instrument he's really good at playing?"

Nai shouts, "CHILDREN!"

Teenage Vash frowns in confusion, "He's good at playing children?"

Vash screeches, "DRUMS! Drums! I'm great at playing drums!" Teenage Nai looks interested. "Oh, really? Cool!"

Nick whispers into Vash's mic, "Oh yeaaaah, you sure know how to bang those..."

Nai facepalms in Vash's direction. "You could have chosen literally anything else. Anything."

Vash pouts. "Could I? Could I really?" he challenged Nai's assertion. "Would it have been better if I said I'm good with woodwinds?"

Nick clenches his knuckles white, biting his lips.

Nai throws his hands forward, "Nicholas, NO!"

Voiceover: In the end, it wouldn't have mattered what instrument Vash said, Nick would be able to make a dirty joke out of it.

Backstage Interview

Nicholas didn't know Nai was Australian when he first met him:

Nick starts, "Took me three weeks to notice Nai was Aussie too."

"Crikey! You didn't know?" Vash cries, flabbergasted.

Nick shook his head. "I mean, I had to be blind and deaf not to recognize you, busting in the first day yelling 'Oi, mate!' in the crew's eardrums."

He turns to the interviewer. "Numpty here panic-tossed his bum bag to Carl, 'cause you forgot to leave it in your trailer," he finished with a tease aimed at Vash. "But the nail in the coffin was when Meryl trampled over you after untying you in the first scene of episode one. She apologized, and you answered with the brightest 'No worries, mate' possible."

Vash scratches his chin and giggles. "I guess I couldn't be more obvious."

Nick smacks Vash's arm. "But seriously, how did you make him as Aussie-" he waves at Nai's entire figure, quizzically- "When he looks like this?"

Nai pulls a face at Nick, asking sarcastically, "Ever heard of sunscreen?"

"You look like a Brit!"

Vash leans over to Nick and says in a matter-of-fact tone, "Because I read his CV, you galah."

Nicholas grunts. "Excuse me if I'm not a stalker, ya dingus!"

Now completely ignored, Nai looks at the interviewer, dejected. "This is what I have to deal with on a daily basis- when I'm lucky enough that they're channeling their fuckery at each other, or at someone else..."

Rosa grills Vash about the rope:

"Then why are you tied up?"

Vash starts to fumble with the rope. "Ta...ta-d..." he grunts and shakes his shoulders.

"Taaaa...." He starts jumping up and down. "Ta-aa-daaaa!"

He steps on the rope, skids, and face plants before popping straight back up. "I'm fine! My nose is fine!"

Roberto chuckles, "What about your pride?"

Vash freezes, then explodes into a laughing fit.

Roberto chuckles. "Had to pull one on you for the gag reel, kid."

Roberto and Meryl are traversing the dunes after their car died:

The script has them walking past the hangmen in the foreground, but Roberto stops early.

Meryl runs into him, falls on her ass and grunts, "Rude!"

Roberto stays in character, announcing, "Dead ahead."

"Cut!"

Roberto helps Meryl up and she starts walking back for the next take when the director says, "Don't worry about it, we're keeping that."

Discovering Vash:

Meryl approaches an upside down Vash and takes his hand, immediately dropping his arm by accident instead of flinging it. "Sorry," she apologizes sheepishly.

They roll again. This time the arm is stuck and doesn't fall off right away.

"Cut!"

A member of the crew sticks a straw in Vash's mouth so he can have a drink while they reset.

"You good, Vash?"

"Yeah, I can keep going." The budding headache wasn't enough to cry home about yet.

Meryl asks the Director quietly, "Go ahead with it now?"

"Yeah, give it another few minutes then run it right."

By the 5th take, Vash was delirious enough that he delivered a laugh just as maniacal as the Director was hoping for.

Roberto taddled on them later and everyone heard Vash yell from his trailer, "They did WHAT!?"

Escaping the ship:

Nai reaches for Rem to join them in the escape pod. She lets out a soft gasp and musters all her emotion to tell them she loves them both, tears welling.

The doors start to close but they jam.

"Son of a biscuit!" she yells, catching her swear in front of the boys.

Nai just keeps his hand dramatically outstretched and Vash falls back into the cockpit seat laughing.

"Someone bring me the picture of my dead cat again!"
