Backstage Interview

Nick, Vash, Nai

Nick continues, "The Sprouts didn't see me, because I just turned the corner and was coming from behind, but I saw their feet scramble below Nai's snuggie. Five seconds later, and I'd have missed them."

Nai adjusts himself on the chair and Vash begins to mindlessly poke him on the forearm. Nai doesn't swat him away, because he knows Vash will just keep going even harder.

Nick goes on, "I went full stealth mode and got closer. Big guy here was still waking up from the intrusion."

Nai nods. "I barely managed to realize what was going on, then I saw him approaching like he was about to attack."

Nick leans in, exhilarated. "He craked the shits."

Vash starts cackling.

Nick chuckles. "He switched from Cuddle Blorbo to John Wick."

Vash doubles over.

"He gave me the most threatening, menacing, intimidating death glare I have ever seen," Nick teased.

Nai leans over, holding his head in his hands, elbows on the knees, blushing uncontrollably. "I was tired. You were grinning like a maniac. And I had rattled children clutching onto me. What did you expect?"

"Defo not you swooping like an angry magpie." Nick giggles.

Off Set Shenanigans

No longer needed for the day, Meryl went home and had a mini meltdown because she forgot her left over noodles from lunch. They were her favorite and she was going to pimp them out with more veg for dinner.

She frantically texted the group chat and though some of the gang had seen, there were no responses. Probably just busy on set. A few hours later, she was about to forrage for something else when her doorbell rang.

Nai stood there with a pleased-to-be-helpful smile. "Noodle delivery for," he pretends to check a note in his hand, "Airhead."

She squealed, "Oh my god, my knight in shining snuggie!" She hugged him and his eyes widened at the interior of her apartment as she squeezed his waist.

"Don't you live southside? I can't believe you came so far out of your way. Let me make some tea for you." Words just kept tumbling as she took the bag and started puttering while Nai remained in the doorway. "I bet I can beef this up enough for two, thank you so much."

"Don't worry about it. I was on my way to the gym, but thank you for the offer. Enjoy your dinner." He waved and made a hasty retreat, a blush blooming on his cheeks as he went down the stairs.

Legato swooped Nai when he finally arrived at the gym near his own place. "Where you been, I had to get another spotter."

"Sorry, mate. I took Meryl's food to her."

Legato stalled his knowing look. "Doesn't she live north of the river?"

"Yeah... she called me her knight in shining snuggie. Ha ha."

"You love it."

"Yeah."

"Mhm. Get on the bench."

Set Shenanigans

On Nai's birthday, he brought the biggest lemon and sage jam cheesecake to celebrate with everyone at lunch. Meryl snapped a photo of him in front of the dessert, with a serious and imposing Knives expression, arms crossed over his chest, holding sporks in between his fingers like Wolverine. #Hundredsporks

S1 Ep 4

Inside the Grand Worm, Zazie rushes to Vash and embraces him:

Behind them, Nick sets the Punisher on the ground. "You've known me for all of a day... and you've let me out of your sight, at least a few dozen times now."

Vash smiles mischievously at the camera, but keeps his voice composed. "Well, I mean you haven't shot me yet, have you?"

"Ha ha," Nick scoffs sarcastically.

Vash then spins around, holding Zazie in front of him as a meat shield, and shoots Nick in the crotch with the nerf gun he pilfered from the prop guys.

"Why do people keep letting him have those!?" Nick whines in exasperation.

Set Shenanigans

Nai approached Meryl with a stoked grin, literally bouncing in the snuggie. "Mer! Mer! Check this out." He half-squats and produces a guttural, surprisingly loud - given the low pitch - rolling gurgle, very similar to a kookaburra starting to laugh.

Meryl cackled at the spectacle as Nai took a breath and went again. "What am I witnessing?" she asked, confused and amused. Legato approached them, chuckling. "A mating dance, perhaps?" he offers quietly so Nai couldn't hear.

Meryl grabs Legato's arm, a deep blush blooming on her cheeks.

Suddenly, a very high-pitched chorus of 'Koooaaa' echoes from three different directions. Nai rumbles again.

The Sprouts and the Twinagers emerge out of nowhere, running towards Nai in an exhilarated cacophony of screeches, barks, and maniacal laughs. Two of them climb on his bent legs, the other two hang from his outstretched arms.

Legato turned to a wheezing Meryl, slightly impressed. "I think this is a way of demonstrating he can... I don't know... Provide?"

Meryl gasps for air. "This looks more like he can tame." Legato giggles. "Australian Snow White, I guess."

Vash and Wolfwood walking into the grand worm's nose corridor:

"All that to say...?" Nick asks.

Vash continues pointing the flashlight forward. "That it's way too early to throw in the old towel."

Nick appears unimpressed. "Fine, but wandering in strategy isn't the best circle."

Vash scrunches his face in amusement.

"Cut!"

Nick sighs sheepishly. "Sorry, I messed that up."

Vash pats him on the butt and they retrace their steps to start over, giggling.

Vash, Roberto, and Nick's dialogue inside the grand worm:

Vash dismisses Roberto's warnings about Wolfwood with a sincere smile. "Nah, I think I gotta disagree with you there."

Roberto grunts, skeptical. "And what makes you so sure?"

Vash blinks slowly, a smirk spreading across his face as he turns towards Nick. "'Cause fuck me, look at those tids! Hey Nick, show us ya-"

Nick doubles over, cough-laughing and loosing his cigarette. He then proceeds to inflate his chest, faces Roberto and pulls open his shirt.

"BEHOLD!"

Backstage Interview

Nick presses on, "Anyway, it was pouring down throughout the morning, and we're all waiting for the rain to stop because we had to shoot outdoors. After lunch, I decided to play hide and seek with the Sprouts... Poor ankle biters were dyin' for something to do, and Legato forgot his colouring book. Those two are evasive little snakes. I finally caught them after almost an hour, snuggling their way up into Nai's cocoon thing while he was napping, all curled up in blorbo-mode on the porch of the main building."

"I have no clue how they always manage to find me when I'm doing that," Nai interjects, bewildered. "They just, I don't know... Coalesce," he says, waving his hands in a blooming gesture.

"And you can't say no. Especially to those two," Vash muses, smiling fondly.

Nai agreed. "Especially to them, my ultimate kryptonite." He facepalms. "I thought they were asking for sanctuary, because Vash had been on a pranking spree. It got so bad even he," Nai indicates Nick, "was actively avoiding him."

Nick nods, turning to Vash. "I think you ate too many donuts. I bet your sugar levels were so high they wouldn't even be quantifiable."

"I was bored!" Vash whines, throwing his arms up.

"The understatement of the century," Nai snarks. "I almost had to get under the flipping water on set to find a moment of peace!"

Vash sticks his tongue out, scrunching up his face.

S1 Ep 3

Vash is firing his 22 toward the dot cord representation of Nai's CG chain of knives, shouting, "Chance number two... Put the plant down!"

Nai slowly turns to his left side to look down at Vash, smirking. "You would shoot me?"

He doesn't give any sign of uneasiness as he sees Vash rummaging through his coat. He wonders for a split second if the missing bullets gag was being repeated but rolls with it and continues his line. "Your own big brot-"

He freezes when he sees what Vash is up to, and yells internally at his muscles to move, but Vash is already pointing a nerf gun at him and shoots him square in the forehead before he can do anything but blink.

The crew devolves into fits of laughter as Nai delivers a wry smile, the kind that promised payback was coming.

Camping scene, during Roberto and Vash's dialogue:

Roberto grins and grumbles, "You're seriously thanking the gun-slinging psycho for slinging the gun? With his slingy thingy and the gunny thingy slinging around? Good slinging luck there, kid."

Vash doubles over and slides off the tire.

"Cut! Bertie, you good? Need lines?" the crew asked.

"Nah, just flubbed em. Let's go again." He held a hand out to pull Vash off the ground, still giggling.

S1 Ep 4

While crawling into the worm's tunnel:

Having been secretly instructed by the Director, Meryl was ambushed twice by Nick and Vash, jump scaring the crap out of her.

It served the purpose of getting her into quite a terrified state, and it perfectly showed up on camera.

The third time, it was Nai and she full on slaps him in the face.

Horrified, she exclaimes, "What the fuck!? Oh my god, Nai, I'm so sorry! What are you even doing here?"

He's glad the redness hides his blush because he found the sting... vaguely intriguing.

Later that night he ponders what happened, surrounded by his beetroot jar collection; and realises Meryl's slap was also... kinda hot.

Set Shenanigans

The sprouts witnessed Vash pranking Nai and they wanted to have a go:

After brainstorming and not agreeing on anything for a week, they saw Nai eating a salad with beetroot and joking with Legato, 'bring me more plants or else'.

So they secure Legato's enthusiastic help and he supplies them with a bunch of mason jars and whole beets. They proceed to fill Nai's trailer with water-suspended 'plants.'

The sprouts hide by the side of the trailer to get Nai's reaction. He notices them being sneaky, so he feigns being unaware as he enters, expecting a bucket of water to fall on his head or something. When he spots the jars, he lets out a boisterous belly laugh, and, to put on a good show for the sprouts' efforts, he reemerges with a jar held close to his face, cooing 'my precious' in a Smeagol voice.

He keeps them all, even though the collection mysteriously gets larger and larger. He takes photos with evil Nai poses surrounded by the jars and sends them to the kids. He names them all with a label maker. He left a note for the cleaning staff, 'Please don't touch my sisters.'
