Nothing lasts,” she says, and there’s a little crack in her voice. “You think it’s going to. You think, ‘Here’s something I can hold on to,’ but it always slips away.
Tim Tharp (via help-n-quotes)
you didn’t go through all that for nothing
በሞት ጥላ መካከል እንኳ ብሄድ አንተ ከእኔ ጋር ነህና ክፉን አልፈራም፤ በትርህና ምርኵዝህ እነርሱ ያጸናኑኛል።
I don’t need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better.
Plutarch (via wordsnquotes)
We worship perfection because we can’t have it; if we had it, we would reject it. Perfection is inhuman, because humanity is imperfect.
Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet (via hplyrikz)
If you can love the wrong one so much, just imagine how much you can love the right one.
Brandon Stanton, Humans of New York (via wordsnquotes)
And kid, you’ve got to love yourself. You’ve got wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. You’ve got to sit next to the man at the train station who’s reading your favorite book and start a conversation. You’ve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then you’ve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. You’ve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. You’ve got to compliment someones crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. You’ve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that won’t matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday mornings and wake yourself up early on Sunday. You’ve got to stop worrying about what you’re going to tell her when she finds out. You’ve got to stop over thinking why he stopped caring about you over six months ago. You’ve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. You’ve got to love yourself.

It’s a new day.
Those moments where you feel invincible, powerful… nostalgic but ready for a new day. And life does this crazy thing to you, where it forces you to be in the place that you were exactly meant to be. A place where being underwhelmed is no longer your daily aesthetic but a pastime. You are focused and motivated to take on whatever is next. When you are no longer pondering the time when everything was in place. When you are in that place. So many people are stuck in this idea that our lives have an end point, some place where we will finally feel successful enough or ready enough to settle down. Some crazy achievement that will suddenly fill whatever void that we felt in some point in our lives. Where they are able to maintain. Why? Why do people want maintenance when we can have prosperity? Why be content when we have been given the power to shine? And so, the validity we are able to gain does not come from our outside energy, but the energy we give to ourselves. There is nothing like solidarity that fills from within. When you wake up and know that you are capable of everything because you were already given everything you need. Self-growth and realization is a beautiful thing, a stepping stone to whatever you need to accomplish next. Not needing to succumb to outside to make things great. We are enough for ourselves. Putting what you want to happen into the world, making your truths exist in real time. What you gain from anything else will never compare to what you will be able to grasp within yourself. So do that.
