What people seem to forget is that jason should, by all means, kick Bruce's ass any time they truly fight.

You're talking about a child who could see untitled at like 8 years old. Talia al ghul saw potential in him but ultimately decided against taking him in. He survived for a while before being adopted, and even then, he had the balls to steal the tires of the batmobile and then swing at batman with a tire iron at 11. A malnourished kid, at 15, was regularly breaking adults' collar bones. This is a kid that terrorised goons with ease while being shorter than 5 feet (his death certificate stated that he was 4'11).

And this is pre death, pre training. He was in a comatose state, and his body remembered how to fight. At 17, he snuck into Titans Tower and knocked out every member in order to clear the area to fight tim. He planted a bomb under the batmobile and CHOSE not to set it off. Then you get to the murder tour in lost days, where he trained with the best, with the ultimate gial of killing batman. This teenager managed to go through the same regiment bruce went through while learning more, since he wasn't bound by a desire not to kill. He learned more techniques and forms from more people and managed to kill the best of the best.

Ra's al ghul, a centuries old man, called him a plague to earth, and he was also deemed fit for the all caste, who are experts on the soul and magic shit. He's the chosen one of a secret sector of warrior monks with magical flaming swords imbedded into his soul while being too young to drink alcohol. The all mother herself said that he'd brung death and destruction wherever he went.

Additionally, he's a strategic genius who managed to run circles around batman and his team, only revealing what he wanted to, all while taking over the underground and beefing with black mask and other kingpins.

No way in hell does he get beat by dick, or future tim, or damian. The only one who could even give him a fight is cass, and even then, she would struggle. When dick got turned into a juiced up vampire, jason stopped holding back and laid him out immediately. When he was drunk and in mouring and damian came in with the intent to fight, he still kicked his ass.

It fucking sucks that DC decided to turn him into a bitch just to prop the batfam up, this man is a THREAT, stop fucking with the powerscaling it doesn't make any sense.

I do think that in a universe where Jason doesn't really do the whole red hood thing to get Bruce's attention, it's possible he wouldn't go back to Gotham either.

The Bats' love for Gotham generally reads as either sunk cost or shared trauma between all citizens, the whole "this shithole is my shithole" thing everybody thinks, except it's tenfold. The only thing linking Jason to Gotham physically is Bruce, and to a lesser extent the rest of the bats, so Jason's hopes of a relationship with Bruce also represent the likelihood that he'd stay in Gotham.

I think somebody like Jason, when he finally takes a step back and looks at it objectively, would rather stay out. Not permanently, of course, but occasional visits instead of primary residence. A week every other month or something

It's the same as his Outlaws era, where he went around the world dicking around, except this time he doesn't have Bruce and the others to really tether him there, so it's even less frequent when he visits

Jason's motivation for crime alley is to stop others from going through what he and his family went through, and while stopping crime is a part of that, it's not the only thing that can be done. Think of celebrities that build schools back home but don't still live there. His trauma of his time being homeless would outweigh any nostalgia he felt

It's also like how Dick left Gotham for longer periods of time once his relationship with Bruce got worse.

The way intelligence is measured in the dc universe is in levels. The highest level recorded is 12th level, which is held by brainiac and all of his decedents (currently recorded as brainiacs 2-8, thought 5 has the most comics out about him bc he's a legionairre), followed by the entire planet of colu, somewhere between 8-10th level if i remember correctly? Superman is at the 8th level. The highest rated <i>human</i> though, is Lex Luthor, at a 7th level, and that level drove him insane. The most intelligent human who has not gone insane from his level is Mr. Terrific, at level 5, if i remember correctly.

My biggest takeaway from this is that people genuinely underestimate Clark when it comes to intelligence. People forget that he has outsmarted brainiac (smartest being in the universe), Mr. mxzyptlk (OP as fuck multiversal being), and Lex Luthor multiple times

In the first All Star Superman issue, he created the super serum, and in the final issue, he repairs the sun. He ran a whole simulation of earth in a scenario where he didn't exist and is socially intelligent, as shown in Superman up in the sky. He taught himself neurosurgery on the fly.

Superman is smarter than Bruce. Objectively so. Yet the vast majority of JL centric or superbat fics deffer to the country himbo characterisation of Superman. Which I adore, don't get me wrong, I love it, but you never see fics where Clark gets to show off his intelligence. The Batman effect of making other characters look dumber has done irreparable damage to his reputation.

His understanding of physics is advanced as fuck, he's solely responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the tech in the fortress of solitude (depending on the verion. Otherwise, he has the bots to help), he's socially intelligent, a really good journalist and reporter, and is well versed in diplomacy. Put some respect on his name

Killing her and giving up being firelord would've been a pyrrhic victory, but Azula was in a state where the politics of the fight didn't matter. She just wanted Zuko to hurt

Ozai also probably didn't tell her about lightning redirection because it would've been embarrassing to reveal that he failed at killing Zuko

So your claim is that Zuko deliberately provoked Azula into using lightning because he wanted to shoot lightning at her and kill her? I think that's a reasonable claim, but I want people to be clear about what they are saying when they say stuff like this.

Anyways, Zuko told Azula that he could redirect lightning:

Zuko: [Angrily and somewhat mockingly.] No lightning today? What's the matter? [Assuming his lightning redirection stance.] Afraid I'll redirect it? Azula: Oh, I'll show you lightning!

The reason that Azula didn't shoot lightning at him is probably because, even in the middle of a mental breakdown, she's clever enough to eventually realize shooting lightning at the person who claims he can redirect it. If Katara hadn't run into the middle of the arena, Azula would have probably shoot her lightning into the air or at the ground near Zuko.

1. Yes, but Azula still charged up her lightning while fully intending to shoot Zuko, so she more than likely thought he wss bluffing. Azula charged her lightning to shoot Zuko and only spotted Katara as she was about to release it, past the point of no return

2. When Zuko redirected Ozai's lightning, he used it to knock him down, so it's possible for zuko to shoot it at her feet, claim first burn, then cuff her so that she can't sucker punch him while he's not looking. He doesn't have to kill her at all

The Untitled have so much potential fr. A solo run where they're operating on a way larger scale would be really fucking good, would help build up the all caste, AND it would develop Jason even more, which he desperately needs.

I would argue the modern iteration of bruce is one of the softest characterisations we've gotten from him since pre-crisis. after wfa's popularity dc is currently really hammering in the "You're my child I love you we are a family" thing down. obvi you could argue that the narrative around bruce abt his family is not all great - shelving his adopted kids and being more concerned over biological ties - it's either flat out refusal of their importance to bruce's life or disrespect. but bruce himself? tynion loved portraying tim and bruce in a fatherly way, the current batman & robin book does the same with him and damian, jlu has an issue where bruce praised dick. I was so surprised when batman (2025) came out portraying bruce so gentle. it isn't modern comic books portraying him this way. it's been like a thing, since 1980s with the new teen titans when perez and wolfman made dick go through the wringer with bruce.

Bruce being softer is a return to form. A much needed return to form, and while I haven't really read it, I'm hoping that they're doing it right.

It's easy for me because I actually really love Bruce. Like, that's BATMAN, how can I not? What I hate is how he's been written the past couple decades.

Could you honestly tell me that Bruce from any other medium would even consider doing some of the shit that comic!Bruce has done? I get that DC loves being edgy, and that's ok I guess, but they usually take it too far and end up making their characters abusive pieces of shit that you can't ever really root for.

Batman can be violent. He puts belt to ass every night. However, the essence of his character is compassion. He empathises with a lot of villains, hence his insistence on giving them the chance to redeem themselves. He gives a lot to charity, and his heart is with all of Gotham.

Which is why he'd never beat in his kids. Like, with Jason, does he deserve to go to jail? Yeah, he murdered a shit tonne of people and has his fingers in the drug trade. Should he be beaten half to death beforehand? Not really, right? Yes, fight him, obviously, but fight to subdue like you usually do, not to cripple. And fighting the red hood should be like pulling teeth for him

Rena is apparently latin for rebirth, which is too on the nose not to use. A nickname Jason gave her foreshadowing his story is something too smart for DC to ever pull off, which is always a bonus

I think Batman after Bruce can't be any of the bats. Terry is the one good option for his legacy, and the way that came around was bullshit, so in an 'ideal' world the Bat dies with Bruce

Nightwing has already surpassed Batman. Literally canon. Dick has perfected it, and the mantle holds him back. Genuinely one of the worst things that ever happened to him.

The Red Hood's whole point is that Jason thinks Batman isn't effective, so he's never gonna take up the mantle. And I don't think Bruce would ever want him to, in a world where he still kills. It would taint his legacy.

Red Robin has been shown to turn evil literally any time he even catches a whiff of the cape. They really hammered it in with TWO batman!Tim characters. Give him a new identity and stop putting him in shadows.

Damian was, in most interpretations, quite literally bred to be Bruce's successor. While he would make the best Batman, by far, it's not the best thing for him. He's already breaking out of the vigilante path, and he only really got into it because he was trained since birth to do it. Push comes to shove, and he'll don the mask, but he's 99% gonna reject it.

Cass is complicated. On paper, she's the best option. Best fighter in the world, body language, super connected to the symbol, yada yada yada. However, I think becoming Bruce's successor would ruin her. The toll it takes on his mental health is insane, and Cass is even less equipped to properly deal with that. She'd burn out within a couple years

Bimonthly Rena post, she should join the league. Ra's views her as a potential weapon against Bruce since he can manipulate her into blaming him for Jason's death. Maybe even tempts her in with the pit; do some shit for me, I'll bring him back.

Jason comes back and his main goal isn't revenge or whatever, it's getting Rena out of the LoA, so they train together, get good, and go back to Gotham for some reason or other. Maybe open a cafe or something mundane and fulfilling.

Alternatively, they kill Ra's and take over, which opens the path to petty fucking with Bruce. I can definitely see Rena sending Ra's' severed head to the batcave
