âDo not thank me,â Connor said gently, pulling the other into a hug and wrapping his arms around her in an almost kind of fortress, the smell of soot and fire still present of his clothing. âJust be strong. I will protect you when the time comes.â âConnor, she may have the guest room. If you need, grab a dress from the closet downstairs.â Achilles said quietly, the nighttime air beckoning for those in the house to rest, and Ratonhnhake:ton got up quickly to help Elizabeth to her room. He took her arm gently and let her weight fall on himself, making sure she wasnât applying to much pressure to her aching legs, and carefully walked the other over to her new room, the entire home smelling of wildflowers and brushfires. âI will grab you some clothes from downstairs, just stay there.â Connor said softly, the birds near the window creating a sleepy chorus as the sun kissed the last clouds in the sky, and the young manâs footsteps were heard thudding on the stairs even from a whole different floor, Achilles letting out a chuckle, shaking his head in wonder. After a few moments Connor came back up the stairs holding a purple dress in his hands, beautiful in design and lovely in fabric, the young man setting it upon the bed, and Achilles looked almost painfully at it from the living room, regret lining his old eyes. âWould you like to-â âConnor.â Achilles interrupted, the Assassinâs eye turning to look at his mentor, his head tilting a bit when he noticed the older manâs expression. âTell her to take good care of that dress.. It was Hopeâs.â Ratonhnhake:ton had only heard briefly of the woman who owned the dress previous,  and seemed to look at it a bit differently, but knew Elizabeth was more than capable of caring for her clothing. âIt had a weaponâs pouch in the lining in case you needed it.â Connor said, his periphery picking up that Achilles was now asleep in his chair, and the young man stepped out to grab some bandages. âIâll be right back, just.. stay put.â Though he was sure she wasnât going to move, the Assassin still wanted to say it, just for his peace of mind, and perhaps hers as well.
