today on TOG AUs I absolutely should not write when I've already got multiple WIPs going: a D&D AU where Joe accidentally becomes a warlock by virtue of falling head-over-heels in love with Undying!Nicky and doing his best to woo Nicky, & meanwhile Nicky is just like "wow this is definitely one of the weirder ways anyone has tried to form a pact with me"

sometimes you need to write like....8k of a fic where both main characters are strapped down to lab tables and completely immobile before you actually get to a point where they can move around. and this is, I hear, a very normal narrative corner to write yourself into. I hear all the coolest writers are accidentally writing 8k of immobilized whump to start their fics these days.
