It’s officially been a year since Jonghyun passed away. I still remember the emotions and thought process I had throughout the discovery and finally coming around and listening to his album and whole heartedly supporting Shinee’s journey this year has really been a different experience than what I’ve ever dealt with. It prepared me to face the death of a former classmate of mine as well.

Throughout it all, I’ve always just randomly talked to Jonghyun on random as days and he genuinely does feel like this guardian angel for me despite Shinee not being my bias group or anything. If that makes me a poser, I’m not sorry. I’m just being honest.

Something that still sits with me is how he died. Carbon monoxide poisoning. At one point in my life, that was my way to go as well. I decided that would be the best way for me to end it if I ever got to that point. I never have and don’t plan to ever get there, but it is so easy.
