Ereri Events: Canonverse Prompt 1: Growing Close
Despite resting a majority of the day, Eren still sounded groggy and exhausted. He had been awake for several minutes before his superior came into the room, tray with a pot of tea and some cups in hand. The younger man felt puzzled by the gesture considering this morning’s shame brought onto himself due to the yesterday’s failures. Fortunately, it didn’t seem like Captain Levi was here to harshly lecture him. Not that Eren thought Levi meant insult by his words, but the situation as a whole was frustrating.
“Hmm, took long enough. We were starting to wonder if you died up here,” Levi stated, expression barely readable. “Honestly, I’ve never had a soldier take so many sick days.”
“Sorry,” Eren said. He put a hand to his head to discover his fever had mostly gone. He sat up and semi-regretted the quick movement, his muscles still sore. “I’ll make up for it, I promise.”
Levi walked silently over, placing the tray on the bed next to Eren’s. “At least your face no longer looks like it got pummeled by a meat cleaver.”
“Sounds disgusting,” Eren laughed.
Levi was less amused. “You’re damn right.” Nonetheless, the superior leaned to reclaim his seat from earlier today. Eren was distracted by the fact his captain supposedly set time aside to share some one-on-one conversation and he nearly burned his hand hastily receiving the cup offered to him.
Levi often insisted shared mealtime with him and his old squad, whether he participated with words or presence alone. Eren figured that since their tragic demise, those moments would indefinitely end as well. Or at the very least Levi wouldn’t go out of his way to bring tea to his bedside. It was oddly touching.
“Food will come later, but this will give you some perk.”
Eren blew away the steam and took a cautious sip. He was still neutral to the taste but he knew that the tea wasn’t the one giving him the perk. “Thanks.”
Levi caught Eren’s smile and didn’t waste a beat to comment. “Don’t get too cozy, this should wake you up enough to help prepare tonight’s dinner.”
He hid the smirk behind his cup, feigning a sip, when his order was responded with a disappointed groan.
I’M SO LATE AND NOT A GOOD WRITER! But I felt like a little blurb would help the sketch a little. I might do this for the other entries but I’m not sure yet lol! ^^;; Levi just cares about his bae and Eren is thrilled by the attention. :)
