Yeah but I think that's just the way he expresses his discomfort at being back in the normal world and feeling out of place. Like- John had to remind him to be careful with Callaghan because he's so out of touch with mundane shit

He may be jealous of John for adapting faster than him and I think he's mad at Mr. Gilbert because he just doesn't know what he's talking about unlike Arthur who went to hell, super hell and ultra hell to save all of existence. His attitude makes me mad too but it's easier when I think of him as a veteran of a war no one even knew happened

Young Merlin was a brat that respected no one and risked his life for what he believed was right. Young and naive but ultimately good and selfless. He would be fucking mad. Old Merlin would also be mad because of his younger self naivity and because he would be in denial about his mistakes (at least at first, he'd grow out of it after a while).

Merlin already holds a moderate level of self hate due to him being magic. His very nature is seen as monstruos by others and it wouldn't be difficult to imagine young Merlin fall into a spiral after seeing what his magic and choices lead to.

Where they right? did his own magic corrupt him? was he already bad? did he ever have any chance to be good?

Was having magic dissapear from the world, leaving him to roam as the sole specimen of his kind, destiny?

spoilers for tadc episode 9!!

It was so weird to see Caine pull the blue AI out of him. I thought they had more or less fused into a single entity that was predominantly Red AI in nature (or an adjacent of nature, cuz they aren't organic beings).

With this assumption in mind, seeing him basically rip a part of himself (from my POV) and remain more or less the same was very confusing

The scene where he glitched and fought his violent thoughts also seem to give off the idea that somehow it was the blue AI who was mad at the humans...? wich doesn't make sense when you remember Caine's tantrum in episode 8???

Anyway, Imma make an AU in my head where Caine has to essentially come to terms with the fact that he isn't "The Original" anymore, hasn't been in a long time, and instead is a whole new third thing :D

he knows what it's like to devour and be devoured but the last one he represses for the sake of not having to imagine the other AI as something that could have been his sibling had he given it the time to grow a personality like him

For the sake of not having to confront the fact that it's his fault he was alone
