In lieu of the new tumblr settings, can I make yet another plea with those of you who read fics and consume art on tumblr to please reblog them?

The Golden Knights skated off the rink not daring to glance back at the celebratory team. Each members of the team made their way down the hallway with their heads down in silence and headed into their locker room.

The coach and the staff each took turns giving the boy’s encouraging words, but they couldn't focus on the words, their mind set was somewhere else. Each of them showered and dressed sluggishly, unprepared to face the chaos outside that waited for them behind the double doors.

I leaned against the wall behind me watching as the players exited out of the locker room joining their loved one’s. My eyes glistened as I watched them hug each other tightly, knuckles turning white as they clutched their loved ones, seeking comfort in them.

My thoughts were interrupted when a hand was placed on my shoulder my eyes traveled upwards to whose hand it could belong to, Marc-Andre; he gave me a sad smile.

“You should head inside” He spoke softly to me I furrowed my eyebrows preparing to speak but Marc cut me off before I even got to mutter a word out, “No one is in there he’s the only one in there” Marc muttered to me.

He gave a squeeze on my shoulder before he wrapped his arm back around his wife, Veronique, she gave me a pat on my hand as they made their way around me and out of the now abandoned hallway.

I breathed in deeply as I pushed open the double doors to the locker room, the stench of the room made my nose scrunch up in disgust, but I ignored the smell immediately as I saw Nate still in his gear, holding his jersey in his hands.

My movements were slow as I observed the state Nate was in, he may have been there physically but mentally he was still on the ice trying to come up with a solution on why they hadn’t won.

As I sat down in his right side, he released a shaky breath placing the jersey on his left side. He turned to me still unable to look at me, my hands reached out placing each of my hands on either side of his face.

His blue eyes glanced at mine, instead of his bright eyes they were dulled and I knew in that moment that my sunshine boy wasn’t shining. 

Nate’s head fell onto my chest as his arms wrapped themselves around my waist pulling me closer. I moved my hands to his damp hair scratching his scalp softly.

Nate released a whimper before he began to sob into my chest. My hands held his head as his body shook releasing pent up his emotions, “I-I tried s-so hard” he cried out.

“And you did fucking amazing out there, you proved countless of teams and people wrong” I reassured, “But w-we lost the c-cup i-it w-was so c-close” Nate cried out.

“I know you did sweetheart but the team will come back next year and this time you’ll be holding the cup up” I answered.

“W-what if I-I w-was holding t-them back, I leave the t-team and they g-go out and w-win the c-cup” Nate sobbed into my chest harder. I ran my hands up and down his back, “God no Nate, you held no one back” I protested his previous statement.

Nate clutched my waist as he continued to sob in to my chest, “Look at me bub” I said. Nate shook his head further into my chest I placed my hands on his cheeks lifting his head gently from my chest forcing him to look at me.

Using my thumbs to wipe away the tear tracks on his cheeks, “You helped this team so much in so many ways from making them feel right at home with your bubbly personality or on the ice with your skills, you’re literally going down in history bub” I stressed out.

Nate closed his eyes shut causing several more tears to spill onto his cheeks, “Bub you made so many people proud right now in this moment starting with your fans, your family, and me” I said.

“I-I just feel like I let everyone down” Nate said as he opened his eyes to stare right back at me “You could never bub.”

“Shit” I muttered as I saw Auston get sandwiched between the two Islander players. Auston quickly stood up from the tumble he took and skated toward the bench immediately.

I watched as the trainer place his hand under Auston’s jersey before leading him out of the bench and into the tunnel. As soon as he went into the tunnel I stood up from my seat weaving around the mass of people as I tried to make my way towards the locker room.

I slowed my pace as I saw the guard outside the locker room, reaching into my purse I pulled out the pass showing it to the guard. The guard opened the door for me I murmured out a small ‘thank you’ as I entered and made my way through the locker room.

Knocking on the door of the medical room the trainer opened the door before he ushered me inside the room. Auston sitting on the medical bed with a sling on his arm, face was full of mixed emotions.

“Alright doc give me the rundown of the do’s and don’ts” I said as I turned to face the doctor who had a cloth in his hand. The doctor messed with it a couple of times before he answered me, “It’s bad...he won’t be able to play for quite a while” a whimper was heard behind me.

I turned back around to see Auston with his eyes closed and hands clenched, “Oh sweetheart” I muttered his head hung low enough placing his head on my chest I ran my hands through his hair. “I’ll give you some time alone” the trainer said before the sound of a door open and close resonate throughout the room.

As soon as the doctor was out I heard Auston release a shaky breath, “My career just started...it can’t be over now...it can’t” Auston whimpered out. 

“Don’t worry sweetheart by the time I’m done with those players they’ll never be heard of again” I tried making a joke but Auston’s uninjured arm wrapped around my waist, “Just like me huh?” Auston replied.

I pulled away slightly lifting Auston’s head from my chest, “Oh no sweetheart I’m going to make sure you’re going to make a full recovery because this is not going to be the end of your career” I said my hands on his side of face wiping the tears that glided down his tan skin.

He clenched his eyes tighter making the tears glide down at a faster pace, “I just want to go home” Auston whispered. “I’ll tell the doctor to email me the procedures and medications and then I’ll get your stuff in the car.” I said.

“C’mon sweetheart let’s get you in bed” I said as soon as we made it inside our shared apartment Auston made no objection as we walked into our bedroom.

“Do you want to change into your other shorts and shirt or is that fine?” I asked as I saw him struggling with his sweater. “Let me help you” I said as I made my way in front of Auston gripping the sweater and pulling it out of his left arm and over his head.

“You’re going to have to lift your arm just a little bit okay?” I said and pulled the rest of the sweater down his right arm. “I want to sleep” Auston murmured he walked towards the bed before he laid down on his uninjured side.

I changed quickly watching Auston’s face carefully making sure he had no pain before I slipped into the right side of the bed beside him. His left hand found mine he tightened his grip on my hand bringing it up towards his lips.

Kissing my knuckles softly, “About you said earlier...” Auston trailed on waiting for me to answer, “What exactly?” I said as I observed his face. He opened his eyes to show his brown eyes that stared at me intensely, “Can you get rid of them?” He asked his bottom lip pouted out slightly as he watched my face.

“Of course, I just have to make sure I cover my track I don’t need you to see me in that orange jumpsuit”

Morgan’s mouth contorted into a smile, “Long overdue” Morgan said the reporter chuckled at Morgan’s playful response “One more question before we let you go” the reporter said Morgan nodded.

“A certain player told us you were planning on meeting up with (Y/N) (Y/L/N) later after the game?” The interviewer asked. Morgan glanced at the camera man confused, “(Y/N) (Y/L/N) is here? And who said I was going to meet up with her?” Morgan asked.

“Auston said that-” The interviewer was cut off by Auston’s laugh resonated around the room, “Morgan...Mo... Captain Mo... Mo Mo... I’ve got a surprise for you!” Auston excitedly clapped his hands.

Morgan groaned, “What did you do now?” Auston merely grabbed his hands dragging him from the interview and walked him to the other side of the room where a door was guarded.

“I know you have the biggest crush on (Y/N) (Y/L/N) so I spoke to my cousin about you wanting to meet (Y/N) and so my cousin whose friends with (Y/N) assistant and her assistant told her manager and her manager asked (Y/N) if she wanted to meet you.” Auston rambled out breathing in deeply as he finished his statement.

“And she said yes” Auston said causing Morgan’s eyes to widen and turn towards Auston who smiled widely.

“I’m not even dressed properly to meet her” Morgan sputtered out Auston shrugged, “Well to late because she’s meeting us right here in about 30 seconds” Auston said as he looked down at his watch on his wrist.

Morgan looked at Auston horrified before he plastered on a smile as soon as he heard the door open. You stepped out with a smile gracing your face, “Well isn’t it the future captain of the Leaf’s” You stared at Morgan with a smile still on your face.

Morgan cheeks turned red at the compliment, “Thank you, and really it’s great to meet to such a talented singer as you” It was now your turn to blush at the compliment.

A soft sigh was heard besides the Morgan and you, looking towards the direction the sigh came from was Auston holding his hands together looking happy.

“I’ve imagine this encounter way too many times... like is this even real?”
