My lord I feel like I haven't been on here in a minute. 😭 Having a full time job for the first time is one hell of an adjustment. The money is nice, but god damn, I have no social life. It's such a drag. ANYWAYS

so I've started watching Being Human UK and boy howdy, I was NOT ready for the actor of Mitch to change. Zero hate to Aiden Turner, I am having a great time watching him play Mitch (also I just love him as an actor-Kili, hello? plus he's adorable), but omggg I loved the vibes between Guy Flanagan and Russell Tovey in the pilot. The pilot in of itself I think is just like, a perfect little capsule of the whole show.
Any one else a little surprised at the switch up? I was so invested with the original Mitch, ngl. He had this perfect grungy, strung-out vibe I heavily fucked with. It was the perfect foil to straight-laced George. They also seemed to have shifted his personality a little bit with the re-cast, which is fine, but having Mitch be a little more grounded and unflappable was what kinda keeps situations interesting.
The after-pilot Mitch feels a little too close to George's personality. Like, in the pilot, George over-reacts while Mitch doesn't react enough and that's pretty fun to me. It gives them room to grow.
Granted, I haven't watched the entirety of season 1, let alone the entire show, so there's probably a lot more in store for me. I just really miss Guy Flanagan in that role ngl and it bums me out so much that I'll never get to see more of his rapport with Tovey.
On another note, Tovey? Holy fuck, I'm SO impressed man. I love lover love the way he portrays the werewolf shift. He panics in a very human way when he feels like he might put someone in jeopardy. There's no broody "NO! please...I'm a monster 😔" said in a calm manner. This man is on the phone, asking his anxious ghost roommate for help, while desperately trying to stay calm so he doesn't scare her OR his ex-girlfriend that is trapped with him on a full moon-all while spiraling into a panic attack. It was peak cinema honestly. He was actually making me feel anxious and I think that's pretty awesome to feel that so viscerally. They try this sequence in a slightly different manner in ep 2, but it's not as good as the pilot. Fun, but not as hard hitting imo. I'm starting to sound like a Pilot truther my bad I swear I like this series
I read that the three main characters' supernatural characteristics are to mirror human struggles and I think that's pretty genius. Vampire=Addiction, Ghost=Anxiety, and Werewolf=Anger. I haven't watched enough to really see how they reflect that in the series, but again, the pilot alone did such a great job with that that I recognized it myself pretty quickly.
As for Annie? 10/10, no notes. She's freaking adorable and the way they really fleshed out her backstory is so so good. I would say she got even better after the pilot. I love her bubbly attitude and how she's pretty unbothered about being a ghost, but it still exists as a problem she has to navigate. She's a breathe of fresh air when the two guys get a little too dramatic.
All that said, If anyone has any good Mitch/George fics, please send them my way! Also, if you have any thoughts on Being Human, def let me know. I'm only on EP 3 Season 1 (dude I thought I was so much farther then that wth), but I'm having such a good time. There is something about early '00s shows thats comforting, idky. Feels cozy.

I had a great time keeping brush strokes messy with this one. I adore Proceate's texture brushes so so much. It makes painting light feel a little effortless sometimes.
I will probably never stop coming up with Miku variants. Its such a fun drawing prompt.
