Basic trouble shooting for people who aren't mechanics and have no interest in becoming one:
1. Does it have a spinny part that's not spinning, or isn't spinning the way it's supposed to? Look at it- is there anything stringy wound around the spinny part? Remove it. Applies to: vacuums, aquarium filters, blenders, and rototillers, weed eaters, and lawn mowers.
1.b Is there debris from the spinny part that is building up on an nearby surface? Remove it. Applies to: vacuums, lawnmowers, probably other things.
2. Does it have a part that air, water, or other materials move through? Look at it- is there a clog, even a small or flimsy looking one? Remove it. Applies to: lawnmowers, vacuums, pumps, probably more.
3. If it has a gas engine, does it have gas? The right kind of gas? Does it have oil? If it's electric, is it plugged in? Or is it's battery charged?
4. Does it have a filter? Is the filter dirty/clogged? Clean it. Applies to vacuums, pumps, and some small engines.
5. Is it electric? Is there a safety feature where it won't work unless a certain peice is in place? Is there something keeping it from popping up or into place? Remove it. Did a small plastic peice break off? Can you super glue it back on in a safe manner?
6. Are there fluid tanks? Do they have fluid levels between the empty and full marks?
7. Are there tubes and/or wires? Are they all attached and going where they're supposed to? If it has spark plugs, are they all where they're supposed to be? If it has belts, are they taut?
8. Are there bolts and nuts? Screws? Are they all where they're supposed to be?
WHEN YOU LEAVE THE OTHER AFTER A ONE-NIGHT STAND AND MEET AGAIN AFTER SO MANY YEARS AND YOU ARE STILL SUCH A DAMN YEARNER he's so gone for Azuma he's acting like they haven't been apart
Smoke Blue no Ame Nochi Hare スモークブルーの雨のち晴れ (2026) | EP. 01
The 1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge puts a twist on the traditional Legacy Challenge by spanning across all four mainline Sims games:
One generation in TS1
Two generations in TS2
Three generations in TS3
Four generations in TS4
This adds up to 10 generations in total. The goal is to explore the evolution of The Sims gameplay over the years! There is more information below, but feel free to run with the idea — customize it to suit your playstyle and tell the story you want to tell!
If you play this challenge, share your progress with the hashtag #1234Legacy — we’d love to follow along!
HOW TO PLAY / SUGGESTIONS:
Play One Generation in TS1: Start with a single Sim, find a partner through gameplay, and have at least one child. If you have more than one, designate one Sim to be the "heir."
Moving to TS2: When you’ve chosen an heir, "move" your family to TS2. Recreate your Sims in CAS, matching their physical features, clothing, and personalities as closely as possible. Adjust your starting funds to match your TS1 net worth, build or buy your home, and continue the legacy! Think about your family's story as they transition from game to game. Consider writing out how and why your Sims "moved." Were they Simply looking for a change of scenery, or did they "time travel" to another world?
Moving to TS3: When your Gen 4 heir is a child (or teen), it's time to move on to TS3! Think about which Sims you would like to take with you, and why. Would they all move together or would some stay behind? Once you’ve decided, recreate your family, and adjust your starting funds.
Moving to TS4: Finally, when your Gen 7 Sim is ready, it's time to transition to TS4. Decide which Sims you will move, recreate your family, and adjust your family funds one last time. It's time for the final act of your Sims' legacy.
OPTIONAL CHALLENGE IDEAS:
The Sims 1: There are no money cheats, but you can use terrain manipulation to reduce your funds if you want a more difficult starting scenario. If you're feeling brave, try to reach the top level of your Sims' career — that's not easy in TS1.
The Sims 2: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or complete their lifelong aspirations. Lifelong aspirations are like a box of chocolates — you never know what you're gonna get. This adds an element of randomness that can make your story even more interesting.
The Sims 3: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or fulfill their lifetime wishes. Personally, I enjoy randomizing my Sims’ traits rather than selecting them manually. However, as always, you should do what is the most fun for you.
The Sims 4: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and complete all milestones for at least one aspiration per Sim.
If you're looking for more structure / optional challenges, simslegacychallenge.com is a fantastic resource. Pick and choose whichever rules you like best.
General Advice: To keep it fresh, consider choosing a different career/aspiration/etc. for each generation. Also, make sure to save often and create backups of your game at least once per generation — hopefully you will not need them. During my playthrough, The Sims 3 became corrupted and all of my sims stopped aging. 😢 Do not underestimate the time commitment that you’re making - Legacy Challenges can easily take hundreds of hours to complete.
Mini 1-2-3-4 Challenge: Don’t want to commit to 10 generations? Try the mini version:
1 generation in TS1
1 generation in TS2
1 generation in TS3
1 generation in TS4
This shorter version still spans multiple generations and games, but it’s quicker to complete!
Thanks for reading. Have fun telling your story!
This challenge was created (with love) by Pambikin and SilentxxBunny in February 2025.
I hate that you can both see posts from asexuals saying "the queer community needs to be less focused on sex and sexual desire as the be-all and end-all of things" and posts from alloaros saying "the queer community needs to be more chill about hookups, sex with friends, sexual desire, and sex" and they're both right and necessary! Like. It would be easier if everyone was weird about sex in the same way. Then there would only be one problem to fix. But no. Instead sex is mandatory, but also there is a wrong way to do it (outside of romantic relationships), and you can't like it too much, but God forbid you like it too little or not at all.
I literally saw two posts that were just the inverse of each other from an ace and an alloaro within 24 hours and it's just like. How hard is it to respect people's decisions? To not make statements implying that everyone should have the same approach to sex? To not imply that anyone is having sex the wrong way or in the wrong amount (be that having too much or none at all)? I don't want either of these posts to be necessary.
It's just. Like. Exhausting that the world is full of nuance. You can't say that society either loves or hates sex. No, instead it has very rules you have to follow and I hate it.
Like, for as different as being aroallo and aroace are? They're also both the exact same. We're both doing sex wrong. Either by not having sexual attraction, or by having it without romance.
For general graphics: use GIMP
For vector graphics: use Inkscape
For drawing and illustration: use Krita
For print and web publishing and design: use Penpot
For PDF authoring: use LibreOffice
For PDF reading and form filling: use Okular
All are free, open source and cross-platform. None use AI.
Adobe is going to claim they have to do this because they host the material on creative cloud, and thus they're responsible if it's illegal material.
Of course, that whole system exists only because they set it up that way. The real motivation, I wager, is one of the few areas of AI training that hasn't been greatly explored: In-progress work.
The general approach has been that published, public facing work which would be subject to human reinterpretation under fair use is subject to scraping. This is because scraping is building a statistical model of the image data, and a statistical model of any level of detail made manually would be within fair use principles. Copyright only protects specific fixed, published expressions. Styles, ideas, concepts, even storylines are fair use for anyone, provided the final work doesn't infringe. (as always, check out the Electronic Frontier Foundation's statement on this)
Now, leaving aside the inevitable disagreements with that position, what this means in practice is that essentially everything that can be scraped, has been. Expanding dataset size is more and more difficult, and even a proprietary dataset is unlikely to be that much better than what LIAON has on offer. The playing field is, essentially, even and most image-gen systems use user feedback training and supplement their training data with high-quality gens to compensate.
But Adobe, thanks to their cloud-based chicanery, has an opportunity to build a dataset with in-progress snapshots of projects from start to finish. The potential for a "finish this" style AI engine built on data that no one else has access to is a tempting prize for Adobe. The only problem is that in-progress snapshots aren't public facing published work.
They're private papers and trade secrets.
So they have to use terms-of-service tricks to get you to technically agree while hopefully not noticing when you've signed over your permission. And this isn't new. This has been an ongoing concern through the past year, especially around medical records.
What I find funny is that Adobe likes to claim their AI system is more ethical than others because it can't make an accurate Superman.
There's limitless circumstances under which one could create an image of Superman without it infringing copyright (if that's even your bag), critique, commentary, parody, scholarship, the list goes on. And even more ways that would infringe copyright but still be entirely ethical (all fanart).
On the other hand, I don't think there's anything ethical about trying to sneak access to one's private documents via a click-through terms-of-service update.
But I don't think subscription software is ethical either, so...
