After much deliberation, I have decided not to close this account. I still wanna keep selfshipping, and even if I want to focus on important stuff, I can still have fun on the side. In the meantime, expect a revamping on my F/O list in the near future. Things will be quite different.

wh. why cant adults participate in fandoms?? /gen as a minor im kinda confused by this o_o

TL;DR: They can. I just said some ageist things because I thought it was the right thing to do. I still think adults should take precautions while participating in fandom, but it's stupid of me to say they shouldn't do so, period.

Truth be told, I posted stuff saying that when I was... going through a rough time. Reflecting on past abuse and stuff like that. I recently found out I have DID, and it caused me to do that. The reflection... made me bitter, to say the least. It led me to genuinely believe that adults couldn't participate in fandoms because I've been hurt, targeted, and shaken by fandom adults, both when I was a minor and when I was an adult. So I just took out my anger at EVERY fandom adult. I genuinely thought they would always end up as either an asshole or creep. But now, I realize they aren't always like that, and adults are helping make fandoms more fun to participate in more often than damaging it.

Does this mean I think adults can go around scot free doing whatever they want in fandoms? No. They do need to understand that most people in fandoms, especially here on Tumblr, are minors, and they need to act properly around them. Tag kink and NSFW content, act respectful, don't take things out of younger friends' comfort zones, etc.. But contrary to what I've been saying for a couple months, adults in fandoms aren't inherently bad. Disregard my previous posts. I'm sorry for baffling you and likely hundreds of others with my weird takes.

i SWEAR you will become much more powerful by ignoring the rest of your fandom. i know you wanna reblog cute headcanons & imagines & x-readers and bounce off those ideas. but sometimes the rewards do not outweigh the risks. your ideas could be completely contradictory to everything you read about your fave and it is totally fine and, in fact, encouraged in many cases. some fandoms are not worth trying to make the best of... trust me. make this your own story... you will be better off.
