I’m going to apologize right now to all the people I had threads with. Kazusa’s muse has been flighty for a while, and I just can’t get as interested in her as I used to. I know it’s only been a few months, but there are other muses I’m more invested in at the moment.
I might bring her back sometime (as a friend might eventually app a castmate), and if I do I’ll let you all know. Until then, thank you for treating her so well.
✯ Geez, what’s that going on now? Nowadays people all face their fears by ways of fighting, fighting and more fighting. What happened to old fashioned thriller like fears? The psychological thriller that chills you down your spine?
✯ She must admit, so far it looks like the scientists have been much more interested in an specific subgenre of horror movies to base this incident on.
✯ “And to leave you alone?! I can’t do that! Hang on, I’m gonna call the police!” Maya keeps running around, hoping that this asshole won’t hit her as she calls for reinforcement. He seems to have electricity based powers - a very dangerous sort for sure.
Wh--The police? How are the police supposed to stop a god?? Kirihiko Karasuma wasn’t stopped by her own father when they’d both been alive and--oh dear she was definitely following after Maya.
She reflected his attack as best she could before hurrying after the other, ducking behind the nearest cover to give them enough time to discuss a possible solution.
“Ah--I hope you don’t mind my following you...away from him. He’s...really only interested in me, I believe. Um. For the most part. Would you happen to know anything about um...helping someone possessed by the spirit of their dead father?”
Kazusa peeked back around the corner to make sure Kirihiko was still far enough away.
Minato slips his shoes off and steps into the unlocked apartment.
He doesn’t announce his presence and he simply squats on the floor, releasing his Eevee into the apartment to entertain him until his friend comes out and notices him.
He’s a terrible guest, really.
He had texted Edna saying he was coming over- he had recently learned that she had a new roommate, something he was very excited about. He wanted to grow closer to Edna, and could even make a new social link friend while he was over!
Kazusa is rearranging her belongings (again, despite the fact that she just moved and barely has any at all in the city, she can’t feel comfortable in this new apartment yet) when she hears noise in the living room. Perhaps Edna-sama had returned from shopping? Or Scott-sama was home. (Kazusa had heard of their other roommate, but hadn’t actually encountered him yet).
Peeking her head out of her bedroom, Kazusa attempted to greet her roommate.
“Edna-sama welcome ho--” That Pokemon wasn’t Edna’s, was it? She’d taken Larvitar with her, as she always did, though Kazusa could barely blame her.
Crouching down next to the new Pokemon, Kazusa gave it an affection pat on the head.
“Well hello there! Are you possibly Edna-sama’s new friend?”
“Oh...I do? I wouldn’t have thought of myself that way, but perhaps it’s just because I’m not in my god transformation. I am, after all, much stronger in that than just my regular human or bird forms.”
“You shoot around like a rocket powered by sugar."
“Ah, do I? I thought that to be more of Karin-sama’s thing--I mean, I certainly can get excited...I should take care to be more cautious in the future.”
“No problem! Follow me!” It wasn’t too far from here, and he was used to walking there, as he still liked to train and play with Cookie there. In fact, she could help lead the way, too.
“Ta-da~! She can help us!”
No sooner had he let her out, did she start bouncing towards the park, likely eager to start playing. She did love the slide, after all.
Kazusa excitedly followed after Cookie, clutching her own Pokeballs to her chest. As they reached the park, Kazusa watched Cookie head for the slide, and turned to Steven for more guidance.
“Do they like to hang out around here? Do you think I’ll find one here? I’m very excited--I just--”
Mew!
That was when Kazusa heard it--the cry of a Skitty. She immediately turned towards the pink cat before realizing she had no idea what to do next.
“Ah--Steven-sama, what do I do? Do I use the Pokeballs? I’ve never played Pokemon before!”
It was very difficult, not only because he was now part of an endangered species, but because he lost his mother on that day as well. He’d been so close to saving her along with everyone else… but it all just fell apart.
He refused to think about that, though, because there was a chance that he would get sad, and Vulcans were not supposed to get sad. All he could do was try and help the regrowth of the Vulcan colony where he could… which he could not do here, but that was not really his fault.
“Hmm… do you really think feelings of love can change a person’s outward behavior? Is it obvious, or would you have to pay close attention to notice the difference?” He tried to scan his memory for any time that his own behavior changed and someone noticed, but he could not think of one. Still, that did not mean it did not happen.
“Absolutely, it can be obvious!”
Her brother and Karin-sama were certainly an example of that. But sometime it could be subtle, just like with all emotions, she supposed.
“Well, I suppose it also depends on the person, as well as the emotion. For example, when my brother is in love he acts like he’s not. He gets rather angry and tries to hide his feelings through shouting. But when he’s genuinely upset, it can be hard for people to tell because he hides it.”
He always looked down at the floor when he was pretending to be okay. But both she and Himeka-sama knew that because they spent nearly their whole lives around him.
“So I guess it’s just as complex as the emotions themselves can be!”
While Daylen had only learned through text message, it didn’t mean he was any less concerned. Just that he hadn’t known the younger girl for very long. He’d seen many come and go during his stay in the city.
He opened the door and quickly closed it behind him. Well, she seemed to be in a good enough mood.
“That’s perfectly fine. I want you to focus on getting better. Now, I just need somewhere to sit.”
Scanning the room, there was a table to the side with a spare chair. The mage approached Kazusa’s bedside to drop the bag there, only so both his hands were free. After that moving the chair over was no problem.
“Hopefully those mittens are small enough. If not, I could always go and exchange them for another. Just as long as you’re happy.
How much longer do you think you’ll be in the hospital for?”
Kazusa happily took the mittens and pulled them on, ecstatic over the fact that her hands were no longer going to be freezing.
“Oh, I’m actually not very sure. The nurses told me it shouldn’t be much longer, considering I seem to be recovering nicely, and I’d certainly like to leave. It gets too cold here.”
It felt like she’d been here for so long already, almost as if she’d spent a month in the hospital, rather than a few days. Still, she’d recovered quite a lot in the short amount of time.
“If I’m lucky, they might let me go home within the next few days! Although apparently I’ve been moved to Sector 006...I have a new apartment and roommates, which is exciting and yet I can’t help but be a bit anxious at the same time.”
((Ah yes, obligatory apology post at 4:30 am as I finish up Kazusa’s drafts and queueing them. I’d like to #1 apologize to the two people whose replies are coming at them a literal month late because I took a sudden hiatus.
#2 I’d like to apologize for my slow activity on Kazusa here because of a combination of stressors from school, work, and health problems. Hopefully I’ll be more active on her, as my friend said he’d be apping a castmate for her soon, and if he does then Kazusa will be all over that.
It should have been a god battle. If that were the case, then no passing citizen would have been able to see it. Or perhaps they would have been able to, Kazusa was unsure since she hadn’t been able to use her god transformation since arriving in the city.
Mostly she was just blocking the attacks of her enemy with the wooden staff that passed as a weapon, but she couldn’t be sure how many more hits she could take. Even being made for god transformation, without her ring she was a regular human.
“I am not going to let you hurt these people!”
The person she was fighting laughed in response. He seemed to be a normal junior high student, much as she looked completely normal at the moment. But Kazusa knew full well what power the Zeus ring contained.
“Really, Kujyou’s toy? And what do you think you can do to stop me when you don’t even have a god ring?”
She grit her teeth, blocking his next attack with her wooden staff.
“Do you think you could save even her?”
His attack wasn’t directed at her, instead directed at Maya, an innocent civilian who seemed to have stumbled onto their fight by accident. But of course Kirihiko Karasuma wouldn’t care about that. He cared about nothing but power and godhood. And of course, protecting people was what Kazusa was made for, so she threw herself in between the two.
“Mine’s named Cookie. She eats pretty much the same stuff that I do.” Steven began to tick off on his fingers. “Spaghetti, donuts, cereal…I found her in the park. I’ll show you where.”
He was really glad to help someone. It made him feel like an experienced pokemon trainer!
Spaghetti, donuts, and cereal didn’t really sound like things cats should be eating. Then again, she wasn’t really in charge of feeding Shii-chan. ...If Shii-chan needed to be fed? She was a goddess in Karin-sama’s cat’s body after all.
Right! The park though! Where she would find a cute cat and take it home to be hers!
“That sounds wonderful, Steven-sama!” She pulled out her Pokeballs, prepared to catch this cat if it was the last thing she did. “Which direction is the park? Will you show me how to get one? I really appreciate your guidance!”
Kazusa froze where she stood, tensing with fear. The voice...it was...Kirio-sama...wasn’t it? But since when was Kirio-sama in the city? When had--
She turned to face him. Keep it civil, Kazusa. You’re not enemies anymore. But there was something...wrong.
“Kirio-sama...no. You aren’t Kirio-sama, are you?”
This was a power she had felt before, a power that still managed to instill her with fear. He didn’t seem as strong now. Perhaps the battle had taken a toll on him? But that didn’t make sense, he was dead!
“You know who I am, don’t you, you little science project?” he asked. Once again, he was wearing Kirio’s face. But once again, Kazusa knew it wasn’t Kirio.
“Kirihiko Karasuma,” Kazusa spat angrily. The man who killed her father...who nearly killed her brother...who...
“Are you thinking of your precious brother? Or should I say your father? We both know the truth about who you both really are. He is Kazuto Kujyou, and you are his plaything. It’s too bad he wasn’t more of a challenge. I certainly hope you will be.”
A challenge? What was he...What...was he holding?
“Big brother!”
It was certainly Kazune--transformed, in his Apollo form, but he was...he...was...
Kirihiko threw Kazune with no effort, and Kazusa rushed forward to catch him. His body was cold to the touch. No--no! This couldn’t be happening!
“Big brother, please! Please--please wake up, please!”
He couldn’t be dead, he couldn’t! Had she been wrong? Had they failed? Kirika-sama said they hadn’t found the Zeus ring, but what if they had just missed it? What if Kirihiko had come back, and he had managed to find her in the city? If Kazune was already...No. She couldn’t think that way.
“K-Kazusa?” A quiet voice interrupted her thoughts, and her attention immediately turned to her brother in her arms.
“Big brother, you’re alright,” she let out a small sob. “I’ll--I’ll get you home, it’ll be fine--”
No...no! She was supposed to protect him--she was supposed to protect Himeka-sama! And she’d... She didn’t have her god ring, she couldn’t--it wasn’t--
“Well, the rest of them are gone. Are you prepared too, science project?”
Looking up, she realized Kirihiko was still here. She still had a chance--she could still protect Kazune. What if she borrowed his ring? But what if his godly powers were the only thing keeping him alive right now? Or were they just draining him?
She hesitated too long, and Kirihiko struck, a single hit from his Zeus ring enough to seriously injure her due to her lack of a god ring. She fell to the ground, weakened immensely, but shielding Kazune with her own body. She didn’t care if she died.
I’m dying anyway, Kazusa. She heard a small whisper. But so be it. She would die for Kazune, and if she couldn’t save him, they would die together.
